Howard Dean

Sitting in for Keith Olbermann, an unusually stiff Howard Dean picks the brain of a former health insurance foot soldier about the government’s reform plans.

Hmmm.

Turned on the TV. No Olberman, not Dean. Just the usual idiots talking about beer.

Turned TV off.

Hulk, I remember, and it was a good example of how the media takes progressives down. At the time I thought it very unfair—the media rarely focused in on Bush the way it did Dean—but after watching him anchor the show I realize just HOW unfair the coverage was. Howard’s a bright, articulate governor and hardly the crowing fool he was made into. Palin, conversely, is exactly that yet whines about the coverage she receives. I thought the coverage deferential at best, objective at worst. After all, if one doesn’t understand world issues and is ignorant of civics, good or bad coverage is immaterial. You know, lipstick and all that.

I believe Dean understands that his party is selling us out; so does Woolsey and it will make her reelection difficult. I live in an extremely liberal area so Woolsey might remain in office but then again, she could lose to a Green or Independent candidate. People in Northern California are angry. Very angry. There’s talk of a national strike and remembering the Vietnam War Moratorium, I support the idea.

Dr. Dean did a fairly good job eliciting the sordid details of private insurers.  He’s not a TV personality.  Don’t forget how he got slammed for his from-the-gut EEE-HAHH during his own presidential run - he was controlled this time for sure.
Maybe I’ll move to Vermont ....
