‘Left, Right & Center’: Vetting Sotomayor, Sizing Up the GOPPosted on Jul 17, 2009
This week’s show includes two Republicans filling in for Tony Blankley—Mike Murphy and John Henke—making this episode more like “Left, Right, Right & Center,” if you will. Robert Scheer joins them to weigh in about the Sotomayor hearings, the future of the GOP and what to do about the health care conundrum, among other lively topics. I was quite disappointed in this show. I tune in because both Arianna and Bob Scheer are very sharp, discriminating minds who don’t let ideology run their mouths. Tony, whom I tolerate, is in this last category, but to have two Right ideologues was annoying, frustrating and a pointless waste of time.
One of the benefits of my college education was to learn how to think, source everything and evaluate those for intelligent fact based analysis. Even though Obama won and one would assume the media might start looking at the world of news with a less conservative, corporate, rightist twist, no way-all of the same suspects EXCEPT for Amy Goodman’s Democracy Now, Keith Olberman &Rachel; Madow ‘s shows(with way too much celebrity crap), Glenn Greenwald’s blog on Salon.com, The Huffington Post, occasionally Daily Kos and your show. Please find intelligent, well-reasoned, fair-minded voices when you must replace for the vacationing regulars.
