Jon Stewart is the closest thing to a journalist we have in this country, and after all he’s a comedian, which speaks volumes. As an American citizen I have no right to criticize Iran but instead have an obligation to improve democracy in the United States. At least the Iranians cared enough about their election to protest its rigging by Fundamentalists.

Jon “Stewart” you sneaky funny guy. Inviting Reza Aslan, a pro-monarchist Shah lover, to your program and pass him on as pro-democracy. Reza Aslan a member of the rightwing National Iranian American National Council (NIAC) whose board is full of a bunch of international WAR CRIMINALS trying to pass themselves as human rights activists. Among them is Thomas Pickering who orchestrated the slaughter of thousands of Salvadoreans in El Salvador from 1982-85. I encourage everyone to go to the NIAC web site and see how they brag about their dirty tricks in Pakistan, Sudan, Yugoslavia, Iran, etc.

The Daily Show has done some great work in obfuscating the complexity of the situation in Iran, as well as obsequiously showering praise on Obama at every turn.

I remember a couple shows ago one of the correspondents was scouring Iran looking for someone to say “death to America” and apparently couldn’t find anyone because all Iranians turn out to absolutely LOVE America without conditions. He was only talking to upper-middle class, well-to-do families of course.

The Daily Show has done great work in illuminating how very alike we the people all are.

The battle is NOT between cultures, the battle is between fundamentalism and every one else who understands that only by honoring equal human rights for all and adhering to international law-which is the way of JUSTICE-as the route to security and peace for any.
