Gates: ‘Everybody Knows We Still Have the Big Stick’Posted on May 4, 2009
Having moved from the Bush administration to Obama’s camp, Defense Secretary Robert Gates takes stock of the White House’s new occupant on Sunday’s episode of “Fareed Zakaria GPS” and defends Obama’s recent diplomatic outreach during his international debut: “I have not seen it as an apology tour,” says Gates. “Fareed Zakaria GPS” via YouTube: Advertisement Previous item: Swine Flu Hysteria Hits the Middle East Next item: Extreme Makeover: Republican Edition CommentsAre you a Truthdig member yet? Ahh yes, more from the man who almost singlehandedly corrupted CIA intelligence gathering to reflect the political requirements of his bosses. Truth from Mr. Gates, not bloody likely!
His retention was a definite warning sign of an Obama administration careening off course.

Sure, we still have the big stick. Too bad for Gates and the other silly little boys running U.S. foreign policy (which includes the war-making) that they haven’t the faintest clue how to use it.

Yes Mr Gates, we know you still have a big stick. But, Mr Gates, do you know what we would like you to do with it ?!

Oh, Mr. Gates, please don’t do the “waving my big stick around” routine. Did anyone ever doubt it was all about phallowars, my rocket is bigger than your rocket, my drone can stay up longer than your drone, my bang is louder than your bang?
Do you have to go out and prove it?
