Swine Flu Hysteria Hits the Middle EastPosted on May 2, 2009
Despite the fact that only two cases of swine flu have been confirmed in the region, the top stories around the Middle East have been about the H1N1 threat—even to the point of edging out reports of violence in Iraq in the news lineup. “Jewish women and children (as well as other non-Jewish Israelis) are subjected to Qassams and Katyushas but no one gives a damn.”
Maybe if they didn’t steal other people’s land, then they wouldn’t have said rockets falling on them.

Gee duhhhh. And eight years of Qassams and Katyushas sent to civilian populations was legal, huh?

mech’elsamberg- I agree this post has nothing to do with Israel, except for the racist comment made by the Israeli Health Minister against Mexicans!

The following article suggests that there are more pressing issues than the distraction scare created by the Swine Flue. In light of this, one might be led to believe that this hysteria is artificially created to distract from more pressing and serious issues that must be addressed!

It’s The Flu People!
By Timothy V. Gatto
http://www.countercurrents.org/gatto040509.htm
There are more pressing problems than the swine flu virus. There is the question of whether the Bush administration will get away with torture. There is the fact that the Israeli Defense Force used white phosphorus in their recent genocidal foray into Gaza (which our government aided and abetted in). There is the use of depleted uranium sickening veterans and their families along with people that live in Iraq, Afghanistan and the former Yugoslavia…”

Mark, you are not “getting it”. Post after post after post here, sits here denouncing Israel and calling her Israhell, calling the Zionists Zio-Nazis, so my sarcastic reply was just returning the favour. This includes articles that have nothing to do with Israel or the Middle East. Its getting tiring of seeing Jew haters cowardly disguised as “anti-Zionists” making their filthy remarks. Jewish women and children (as well as other non-Jewish Israelis) are subjected to Qassams and Katyushas but no one gives a damn.

Okay, neither of the two CHILDREN were leftists or Zionists.
Just ordinary American CHILDREN.
I understand that there are many who are so dedicated to their sectarian strife that they don’t give a damn about children, but these were just children. Kids. Youngsters.
Neither of them were guilty of any sectarian allegiances whatsoever or of spreading any hatreds, divisiveness, and propaganda as so many trolls here are doing.
This is, however, typical of the way that hatemongers will exploit even the deaths of children to spread their divisiveness and hate.

I said ANTI-ZIONIST plot and it is the left who blame everything on Jews, oops, I mean Zionists.

Neither of the first two victims, children who both lived in California at least a hundred miles apart from each other, were Arabic or Jewish, and neither had been to Mexico or been anywhere around pigs.
It is unknown, however, whether their parents listen to or watch right-wing radio and TV shows, and if they were therefore exposed to the ignorance and virulent hatreds of white, U.S.-born bigots and zealots.

The flu is probably yet another anti-Zionist plot.

We can only hope that “swine” and “Middle East” have genetic juxtaposition.

Curiouser and curiouser….

Now the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is saying that the swine flu may have begun in California with patients who had never visited Mexico or had any contact whatsoever with pigs.
Should we start calling it the California flu?

Looks to me like a government that will use any excuse to control the people. In my opinion the Muslim religion is a more controlling religion than the Roman Catholic religion but both want to control a segment of the population namely women.

Fadel, I respect your opinion since you lived in Egypt and I did not; however, I did speak to a Coptic American who tld me that Copts are discriminated against in Egypt. Also, there were riots and unrest between Copts and Muslims over marriage, conversion and criticism in the press.

90% of the garbage collectors in Egypt are Copts. Is this because they are kept in poverty or do they have a monopoly on garbage collection?

randyha, on the fact that the Mubarak regime is evil through and through I agree. However, I beg to disagree on your saying that the Swine Flue panic is a camouflage to “further persecute the Copts.”
I am almost a son of Egypt through the many years I spent there studying and as regular tourist. The Copts in Egypt were never a persecuted minority. In fact, all the Copts I met in Egypt and outside were better off than the average person from among the Muslims. When I was a student in Alexandia, though I am a Muslim, I came very close to marrying a Copt.
However, it’s true that in recent history, with agitation from foreign agents, there were two occasions when tensions rose between these two religious groups, but the political establishment was never against the Copts.
On the other hand, the real enemies of the Mubarak regime are the Muslims, as represented by the Muslim Brotherhood, who are imprisoned in the thousands, and I am sure that in such circumstances the Copts would be natural allies not enemies.
One thing you should know for fact is that Mubarak is the ultimate secular who is Muslim only by name, the Israelis and the Egyptian Copts are his closest allies and the mainstay of his regime.

Talking about panic in Egypt! This is another distraction by the Mubarak regime to camouflage its corruption and further persecute the Copts.
