Protesters Confront Summers

Posted on Apr 9, 2009

Two protesters storm the stage during a talk by Lawrence Summers, who tries to laugh off the incident. If only there were something funny about President Obama’s top economic adviser making $8 million last year from some of the financial firms that have benefited from his economic policies.

questions and charges
I charge you with making a false accusation in a morose way against me do you admit that?  Was that done by you to bring disparagement against me, if so why——- is it so that you are just one buried deep and wide to promote the vile and evil agenda that rages at the heart and soul of our nation?

TO ALL

With the obvious predominant wrong choice in Obamas cabinet selections is it time we mount another front in an effort as was talked about before?

Who believes we need a new strong emperor type that will as a majority of just one claim our rights to life back as a people by taking full control of our military and set the stage for a refreshed America with a rejuvenated people?

If that were so then who believes that President OBAMA can be that man if pushed along by us?

If not is it time to set the stage again to IMPEACH?

Then on another pragmatic premise——- is the rattling of swords the only way?

NEED TO KNOW

So people will protest these basterds (ie Summers, Geithner, etc) and praise the man who appointed them…makes no sense to me.

Pity Code Pink didn’t strangle Summers with the banner.  Should have fought harder to stay on the stage and disrupt the luncheon.

That’s right, listen to all of the rich Democrats and RePugZ laugh off of the stage the “Populist” who are too concerned with the activities of the SMARTEST room in the world.

You know folks, it gonna be a time, real soon, when rifles will be grabbed and handcuffs readied and justice wrought from the mouths of the tired, hungry and eventually angry and scared American.  Unfortunately, Obama hasn’t proved much differently then the Bushes and Gramms and Clintons and Rubens.

Listening to the chuckling wine sipping whiners is sickening. These weakling cowards, who for the last 2-3 weeks equated the anger and fear of working Americans as populist overreach and “unpatriotic” (sound familiar), and won’t start to understand anything, other than their own bank accounts, until a boot or three are put in their assess.

This smug jerk is grinning like the cat that swallowed the canary.

Under Clinton he helped push thru the deregulation that got us into the mess we’re in today.

After working for Clinton (1999) he was Pres. of Harvard at $500k per year.

“Resigned” (got fired) from Harvard in 2006.

Between 2006 and 2008 he made $8 million working part-time for a hedge fund and as a paid speaker at events sponsored by Wall Street entities which coincidentally got bail out dough.

Basically he screwed things up back in the nineties but nobody (or very few people) knew it at the time. He parlayed his time with the Clinton Admin into the Harvard Presidency (that’s some sweet resume booster) and then jumped to Wall Street before jumping into the Obama Admin.

From the looks of it between ’99 and ’08 he made more money every stop along the way.

How’s that for a career arc.

You and I should be so lucky.

Of course, if you’re unfortunate enough to be burdened with a conscience and a sense of shame, you’d never be Larry Summers.

At least Codepink has been on the right side of the economic fiasco from the beginning. Everytime they try to exercise their rights, in Senate Hearings, both parties give them a
“stern talking to”.

I guess Barney Frank and others dont like it when people piont out the truth.

Why dont you
“like” Code Pink? I dont agree with everything they do. But, they are completely right on this one. He should resign. When waa the last time you did anything this courageous? They have every right to say “I told you so”.

Wow! CodePink tore Summers up (besides Scheer’s article). I can’t believe they had the guts to do this again! First GoldmanSachs, now this.

I don’t like CodePink but I think this was great. Summers seemed embarassed between the pink banner and the CodePink members shouting at him.
