Nixon tapes
youtube.com

The Nixon tapes have yielded untold, er, riches over the years, and here’s yet another nugget, featuring Nixon in a wide-ranging conversation with Bob Haldeman and John Erlichman on the subject of homosexuality. The discussion begins with a dissection of an episode of “All in the Family” and then spins off to such topics as how homosexuality “destroyed the Greeks,” the Roman Empire and San Francisco.

Purple, you’ve had your fun, but it’s not really history….“That it should be a George who seized the Powers of a Kingship. ever wonder why they didn’t tap Jeb- the Irony would lost.”

See, Poppy KNEW Jeb is the smart and talented one.  Problem was WHEN each got elected governor of their respective states which put Jeb in a lousy position to run but Dumbya in a good position to run in 2000….but Jeb was the one Poppy saw in the job.  Jeb is smarter, better educated, more intellectual, more charismatic, and fundamentally more dedicated to his job.  In other words, he’s far more like Dad than Dumbya, only charismatic to boot.

While it’s hard for ANY father to not be proud of his son becoming President, I’m sure HW wishes every day that it had been Jeb.  How many times did Daddy bite his lip, and hide where the press couldn’t get to him while Dumbya was f***ing up in extremis?

I don’t think much of Jeb, his being a stricter Conservative than Dumbya, but it’s hard to imagine him NOT being far better in the job than Botch, the worst President the United States ever had. At least Jeb is smart and not lazy.  One thing I always gave Poppy credit for was being super-hard-working, for TRYING to be the best President he could, something neither his son nor his “saintly” predecessor bothered with.

Ahh Nixon Where Cheney,Rummy and Wolfie first got their Start in Treasonous activities. 40 yrs and those SOB’s have nearly completed their mission to destroy US.
Who can miss the lineage from Nixons ‘If the President does it, It’s not Illegal’ all the way to George the W’s Reign of Terror.
Nixon was clincally paranoid and an ego maniac- perfect pickens for those who want to use manipulation to set forth an agenda. Just freak him out that everyones after him and let his ego and paranoia do the rest. Too bad he kept those tapes ah?
Then Comes Ronny- helped into office with a back room deal which undermined the Sitting Dem Pres. He clearly had the early stages of alzheimers and of course his Hollywood B Movie Ego- another one prime for the pickens. Plus he would forget anything of real importance -so telling was not an issue “I couldn’t tell you what I had for Breakfast this morning’ was not a lie.
HW another push over. The man had no spin and he knew it. Reason he warned W about asking DICK to be his VP.
The Clinton years were a cake walk- just get a continuous array of pussy around and he wouldn’t give a shit what their covert operatives were up to- esp Hillary (Goldwaters Girl). In fact Bill was giving gifts of Presidential Powers to Hillary as ‘sorry Gifts’ instead of flowers. Funny they claimed they were not acting as a Co- presidency throughout the ‘90’s, only for her to claim it qualified her to be President during her presidential campaign, hmmmmm.
And oh, the poetic Justice for those who wished to institute Feudalism in the US- Royal Loyal Red Coats- that a ‘George’ should ‘win’ the fait accompli election. That it should be a George who seized the Powers of a Kingship. ever wonder why they didn’t tap Jeb- the Irony would lost.
There is not just 8 yrs of high crimes which must be prosecuted- but more like 40..follow the careers of just those three and you will see what happened the the ‘Land of the Free’. Move Over Bendict you’ve been bumped down the list of the nations most egregious and prolific Traitors. In fact Ben your act looks like childs paly since it resulted in nothing anyway.

“Now we all know that people go to whores . . . ”  True.  Millions voted for Nixon, didn’t they?  Before George W. Bush, Nixon was the greatest political whore in American history.

No biblical references, how refreshing. I can actually handle this remembering that it was 35 years ago. Three individuals sitting around shooting the s%$t, looking back I can not recall any anti-gay legislation passed in Nixon’s time, if it came down to him and a few of these neo bible thumping conservatives, i’ll take Tricky Dick any day.

We enjoyed Archie Bunker and the show was a parody
of many controversial topics and today we need a tv
show that mixes opinions with comedy. We laughed a
lot and Mike Evans’s character named LIONEL was so
two-faced just to get along with Archie. But Thank
God our country has come along way in every major
conflict. Let’s get over the past and focus on saving
ourselves from an untoward generation. Life is what
you make it for yourself and your neighbor. Love your
neighbor as yourself. A tall order but we live in a
Great Society.

No, gay people as a group did not bring down the Roman Empire nor any other. Neither did the Roman Empire fall it sort of settled to the ground like a wounded camel.

At any particular time many things could be factored in as to why the Roman Empire stopped functioning. A swollen military budget for one, then the Catholic (I use the name Catholic Church to cover all the formative church organizations) church syphoning off wealth and men from more constructive endeavors, the disasterous fighting between the various populations inhabiting its cities, the fact that the military discovered it could make money making Emperors.

Gays were as always part of the human condition and the only difference between the first days and the last days was how much it was hidden or surpressed, but no Gays did not bring down any society.

Mean-ness and selfishness now that has distroyed not just society, but individuals on a regular basis.

Give it a rest. Oh and by the way Nixon’s honest resentment about gays? He was a nasty, dishonest man who if not for getting speared with his on halberd would have brought the criminality of Bush/Cheney decades earlier.

Nixon had an honest, conservative perspective.  If you notice, NEVER did he evoke the bible as the basis of his reasoning. I personally disagree with him but I would be thrilled to have this style of debate from the right back in style.
