Blago Tapes Played at Impeachment TrialPosted on Jan 27, 2009
Previously unreleased audio recordings of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich talking gambling legislation and campaign contributions were played in all their ignominy during his impeachment trial Tuesday. There’s a lot more going on here than a vacant Senate seat. Background here. Listen to the tapes and read the transcripts here. An elected official and his chief of staff actually negotiating terms for campaign contributions in return for promotion of favorable legislation?!? Gosh… It’s a good thing for America that this is an isolated incident.
Report thisMaybe if we weren’t only outraged when it was the ‘other’ party doing it… whatever ‘other’ means…

Report thisWhat do WE expect????Madoff is walking free-AIG is still getting money for nothing….Banks get free [tarp] money to help the economy but PAY THEM SELVES for BAD BUSINESS DEALS…G.M. accepts LOANS to be PAID BACK…....seems backwards to me…..banks should pay it back and manufacturing should be put into a better position….

Hilarious!
In the audio, they sound like near-normal human beings but in the transcripts, they read like mindless mobsters. Well hey, Joey Boy, that’s uh, ya’ know, that’s biz-polotik in the U$A. Yawn-Snort.
