What’s to be done to pull the U.S. out of economic quicksand? Tony talked about 10 year treasury bonds. The treasury sells 4,13,26 and 52 week bills. 2,3,5,and 10-year notes, 30 bonds, and savings bonds. The reasons the interest rates on the shorter term bills and notes are low is that people are taking their money out of the stock market and putting in safe havens like the U.S treasury.
