Those fickle heads of state are at it again: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who so recently sent a note of goodwill (or so it seemed) to U.S. President-elect Barack Obama, has apparently already changed his tune. What happened? Link TV’s Mosaic Intelligence Report takes stock of the situation.

To let you know I am not a kook, I will briefly mention my background.  I grew up in a small coal
mining town in West Virginia, where my father worked
40 years in the mines.  I have Master and Doctoral
degrees in Counseling and Child Development, taught
at several major universities and served as School
Psychologist for public schools.  I am responding
to this article because I have been studying the Bible for more than 30 years and wish to make you
aware of a prediction(prophecy)that is very disturbing to me.  Zechariah 14:12 reads:  “And this
shall be the plague wherewith the Lord WILL smite
all the people that have fought against Jerusalem;
Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon
their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.”  This was written more than 2000 years
ago before anyone knew anything about nuclear bombs.
Yet it appears to describe a nuclear bomb.  Last
February, I placed a video on Google titled:  osama
bin laden a christian response/expanded edition.  My
intent is to warn Osama, President Ahmadinejad, and
others about this prophecy.  I see conditons in the
world rapidly approaching a time when this prophecy
could be fulfilled.  I would like to get the video
translated into the Arabic language and placed on
an Arab site where Osama, President Ahmadindjad and
others might see it.  If any of you have ideas how I
might accomplish this goal, I will greatly appreciate
your input.  Thank you.

While I hope that one day no country will have a nuclear arsenal, I find it troubling that the US acts as the police on WMDs when it is the ONLY country to have used them.

I’m not questioning the fact that Iran feels threatened and therefore it has the right to arm itself. I also deplore the position of the US and the international community of criticizing Iran over its nuclear program while turning a blind eye to Israel’s. Nevertheless, Ahmadinejad is no angel and has taken advantage of this current situation just like Bush did after 9/11. Many of my Iranian friends tell me that they prefer having jobs etc. instead of all the money spent on the nuclear program.

As a follow up to my previous response to randyha’s comment, I urge you to reread your comment, randyha, and I am sure, if you’re honest with yourself, you’ll find your comment a repetition of what the mainstream media of the Bush era have been repeating and you know what has this led to: the total collapse of this country’s economy due to corruption, greed and misinformation.

If you’re really interested in getting some solid and meaningful education on the issue of Iran, I would urge you to read Scott Ritter’s article on another thread of Truthdig! There you’ll find food for thought and enlightened analysis that put both Bush and Obama together to the shame of ignorance and naivete!

Ahmadinejad is in trouble in Iran as the report has stated. The economy is tanking and his popularity rating has been sinking. He is just borrowing from George Bush…every once in a while one have to scare people from external powers and flex some muscle.
====================
Randyha, I beg to take issue with your statement! The issue of whether Ahmadinejad is in trouble or not is irrelevant, and accusing him of borrowing from Bush is a wild statement.

As a sovereign nation Iran has the right and obligation to develop its own deterring military power. Though I am from an Arab background and I am a Sunni Muslim, my sense of justice dictates to me that I support a national sincere leader like
Ahmadinejad.  We cannot be so oblivious to recent history, when, for eight years in the early 1980 Iran lost close to half million souls to the Iraqi war of aggression, instigated and supported by the imperialist USA and Israel, who after weakening Iran turned against Saddam Husain who did the dirty work on their behalf with Iran.

If you want Ahmadinajad to quickly forget this recent history and the continuous hostility of the US towards Iran since their peaceful revolution in 1979, then he is not worthy of being a leader of his country.
