Palin and McCain

Sarah Palin didn’t endear herself to everyone in the McCain campaign, from the look of this Fox News report on Wednesday. Stories about Palin sourced to campaign staffers are a bit on the, um, career-demolishing side, let’s say.

Leisure Suit Larry: ’... Wall Street seems to bottom at 8,100 then bounce back, that suggests a loss of about 4,000 points from mid July. That’s a loss of 25 TRILLION dollars that’s real money now gone poof… ‘

No, real money is just what it wasn’t.  Much of the price levels of the equities markets were based on the same Ponzi scheme of ever-expanding credit as the real estate markets.  It was a bubble, and once people tried to convert any substantial amount of it to real goods or labor, it would have collapsed.  I’m not at all sure it is entirely deflated yet, either—there seems to still be a lot of Belief out there wandering around.

I predicted after the 770 point dow drop that if this is the beginning of crash 7000 would be the point the market would bottom. Now, I am not so sure and that 5000 or a little lower may be the bottom, don’t forget, this has been a false economy even before willie clinton signed the NAFTA that excellerated the loss of manufacturing in this country, so much so that more than 1 person surely has recognized the fact of the huge debts of trade and budget, bailouts , all to give the few more and more money before the depression hits, that there is no problem with w & dick handing the US over to the other corporated power to sink or swim for the next 4 years which swimming looks really useless also.
And obama, having already coming on board with the corporations and the american izreali political affairs committee it looks as IF there will be more rewards and welfare for those that have irresponsibly and criminally destroyed our economy the one thing the ‘war on terror’ was supposed to prevent- but I guess that was really a fool’s hope considering washington d.c. has more terrorists that are more of a threat to our national economic security than any other country could ever hope to have and to accomplish. Surely being friends with the bin Laden family, w and dick have carried out those financial terrorist attacks much to bin Ladens delight.
And we the people are just going to sit back and enjoy another 4 years of samosamo… IF obama doesn’t come around to what the country really needs and that does NOT include corporate welfare or occupation or attacks on any foreign countries. I really hope obama surprises a bunch of people by rounding up the trash that have trashed this country in the name of anything but the truth. And surprise people like me who don’t believe he will go after these people and hold them accountable by prosecution and penalties.

The big three auto companies are drowning in a sea of red ink… Don’t care?  What about their laid-off workers?  Care about them?

The Obama government is about to give away the store. He’s already talking about bailing out Business… Oh yeah, he did propose giving the table scraps to some beleaguered defaulters.

The Bush crime family has 2&1;/2 more months to fuck things up.

Wall Street seems to bottom at 8,100 then bounce back, that suggests a loss of about 4,000 points from mid July. That’s a loss of 25 TRILLION dollars that’s real money now gone poof…up in smoke as Cheech and Chong used to say. A question for people who feel more comfortable discussing the ex-candidate’s wardrobe: Can even the wealthiest Nation on the planet sustain a loss of this magnitude?  Are you folks aware of what collateral backs our loans from other Nations? Since the economy is “Global” (because the Bush and Clinton Crime families said so) how long until a reeling, starving nation calls our note?  Has it happened already?

The left of center folks here seem to want to crow about a victory, (as if becoming captain of the Titanic after it hit the iceberg is a promotion) all well and good, I probably would have done the same had my man won, but what I wouldn’t have done is dissect Joe Biden’s gaffs, There is much work to be done, and our President elect has called for “unity” that includes all citizens….even those with whom we disagree.  I’ll try that too… I admit it will be difficult.

McCain’s short list of potential VP candidates didn’t test well with the GOP crowd. He really wanted Joe Lieberman (who did McCain have dinner with in NYC to talk over the AIG meltdown before rushing to DC and after blowing off David Letterman and doing the Katie Couric interview? Not Palin…Lieberman)but most in the GOP felt Joe was too liberal for their tastes. McCain did a Hail Mary and picked Sarah Palin after only having met her twice. Huh? He put his aspirations for winning the election over the good of the nation. If you were looking to pick a guardian for your children in case something happened to you, would you choose to have this conversation with some nice lady you met one time a year or so ago? Or would you entrust them to someone you know inside and out? It just boggles me.

McCain’s election staff soon found out the error of Palin’s ways but in a good faith effort glossed over her short comings - lack of world knowledge, wild spending habits, arrogance and unwillingness to be coached prior to important interviews - in order to keep the campaign on track.

Now 64% of Republicans are interested in seeing Sarah run for President/Vice President in 2012. And those campaign staffers working closest to her during the eight weeks she was in the spotlight are terrified. They understand the temper tantrums and the intelligence issues she has more than the average voter and they are now attempting to give the American public the real story on Palin. It may seem petty and backstabbing because it is a picture vastly different than what they were painting last week. Sometime the truth hurts. Fun Fact: In Greek, Palin means backward as in palindrome when you can read a word backwards and forwards (ie. racecar, Anna). Backward. Ha.

Why is so surprising to anyone ? If you watch her on the interview repudiatign all these stories, she is tilting her face and playing for the camera like she is being interviewed for a frigging beauty pageant show. Palin, my best advice to you is stay in Wasilla, and leave the lower 48 to the intelligent ones, please. We DONT need you and we dont WANT you anywhere near the White House. There is not enough room in the White House for you, your families an dyour croonies.

Entertaining as they may be, I hesitate to trust the veracity of stories about Palin’s ignorance.  There is no doubt a considerable struggle going on within the Republican Party over whatever remains, and the long (and short) knives are out.  Let us not be too credulous ourselves.

Sarah has at least one parent who is/was a teacher and I believe both her parents were teachers in the public school system at one time. Scary, when you think of it that Sarah turned out so IGNORANT. It took her 5 different colleges to earn a degree in journalism.

As for the daughters of Sarah not being in school, fear not. Bristol missed 5 months of school from about Thanksgiving 2007 until just after the birth of Trig in April 2008, you know her mothers baby #5(?), because they claim she had mono-for 5 months.

Sarah has also stated she believes of home schooling all children in America,by their mothers, who should be stay at home mothers and not working mothers, ridding libraries of books she and her church do not approve of, eliminating science classes and replacing them with classes more religiously inclined, just to start with in the re-education of American children into soldiers in God’s army to take over the world with their MAVERICK brand of religion, when she becomes VP/PREZ.

Sarah and Todd prove that any idiot can make a baby(ies). Unfortunate for the babies though.

My young friend, helper and ‘hanai’ grandson asked me how McCaine could have chosen Palin as his VP. I thought he’d choke when I told him it’s a prefect example of thinking with your dick…

Of course, I’ve been trying to encourage David to think with his ‘big’ head rather then the little one ever since his voice started changing. It is not a talent that is encouraged in modern society [or back in the dark ages either].

I am not about to defend the educational system in Alaska. Truth is, I know nothing about it or its strengths and weakenesses, although it is not that impressive so far…

What I do know is that Sarah Palin has spent over two months traipsing around the country with three school age daughters who seem to have withdrawn from school. If she is ‘home schooling’ them, it would be helpful if she was literate herself, or at least had a tutor on the payroll alongside the make-up artist.

Is it any wonder that curmudgeons like me and other old-fashioned citizens view “Home Schooling” to be a euphemism for keeping the older kids at home to act as baby-sitters and general slaveys for their parents?

Has anyone, anywhere, ever observed a member of the Palin family even looking at a book? I’m excluding Bibles as an answer, they’ve become all to common as a campaign prop to serve as an intellectual one also!

Sorry for the rave. I know that most of our young people don’t know the name of the country they can see out their kitchen window - but whose fault is that? Surely, it should be the parents who accept the responsibility for the ignorance.

As for the Palin parents: They are both over 40. She is a Governor. He is a Snow Mobile Racing Champ. When will they accept the responsibility for educating that pack of kids?

If Palin achieves any more of her political goals, the kids could be Wards of the State for the next 75 years!

Wow, fux news. What an incredibly important issue of topic. Any other life beneficial issues the public needs to be kept update on for their next life altering decision? carl cameron is pathic and so is the other pontificator; useless for news. I would expect to see him giving w one of his ‘in depth’ interviews again.

I wish disclosures like this were put out before she was almost elected VP. If she would of been elected and this bomb dropped a day later, I would of been so embarrassed for our country.

Its incredulous to hear how inept she is on topical issues in one breath, and a moment later hearing the reporter saying how much the GOP base still adores her and has future aspirations for Palin as a contender to the White House in 2012.

The GOP basically tried serving the American people a shit sandwhich, fortunately they ran low on bread, so we got a little taste before hand, instead of the whole thing later.

The vast majority of Americans are ignorant about geography.  Thousands of college students have been tested in recent years and the majority have been unable to find such countries as Iraq and Afganistan on a globe.  One recent report told how students started looking in South America when asked to find Iraq on a globe.

Perhaps the lesson to be taken from this sorry Palin episode is the realization that intelligence, to a huge portion of the American electorate, really doesn’t matter. Politics is more a beauty pageant than a conflict of intellectual visions. Most people do not think intellectually; rather, they react emotionally to propaganda.

I would be curious to see what percentage of the electorate really spends any time trying to grasp the intellectual content (if any) of the candidates’ policies, versus what percent vote on the impression that candidate A seems to be a nicer guy than candidate B.

Politicians realized this ages ago. This is why attack ads work. This is why name-calling works. This is why Sean Hannity has a job.

And, yes, this is how Sarah Palin, with even less intellectual content than the average voter, can be hailed as Vice Presidential material today, and even (seriously) as Presidential material in 2012.

Perhaps you are beginning to see why I am not terribly enthused with the concept of Democracy.

The very idea of an elected official, especially the Vice-President not knowing the least amount of geography is truly frightening.
Sarah Palin, is every persons worst nightmare! A marketable, seemingly knowledgeable candidate, who, has some credentials for the Presidency, yet lacks the basic acumen for even dogcatcher.
Sarah Palin is without doubt the dumbest bunny on the planet, even most of the contestants in a beauty pageant know that Africa is a continent and that economics is something beauty contestants should stay away from.
Should she reappear in 2012, let us hope that the American people have enough sense to send her packing back to the backwaters of Wasilla, Ak.

The thought that she was so decidedly unqualified to be vice president (and so proudly and willfully ignorant), yet may have pushed McCain to victory had the Bush depression not gotten in the way, is truly frightening. That McCain didn’t have the courage to reverse course on his selection once the extent of her ignorance was apparent is truly frightening.

Now it is all coming out…I wish I would have been there when the Masked Avengers called her.  You could hear some background swearing, etc…at the end of this piece.  Wonder if she is ready for anything in 2012..let´s see, “How old will she be?” if she continues in this childish behavior.

Is that what she was banning from the Wasilla library, geography books?

My God, what were they thinking, AND what was she thinking?  Did they/she really think she could put that one over on the entire nation?

Makes you wonder about the Wasilla Schools.

But, the bigger issue is why would anyone choose someone so ignorant and misdirected, unless that was what you WANTED.  And we’ve seen this premise throughout this administration and the interests that back them right up to ye old George W.

Makes Biden look like a flippin sage, and makes me look like a geopolitcal scholar…..LOL

We come to you with greetings and gifts O WISE ONE, please…. VP elect Biden reveal to us the location of Africa O WISE ONE, and we will give obeisance and many gifts to you, O WISEST OF THE WISE.
