In what will go down as one of the epic prank calls of all time, Canadian radio show jester Marc Antoine Audette got Sarah Palin on the phone Saturday by telling her French President Nicolas Sarkozy was calling. Oops.

Palin knows egg-zack-ly who he is, a fellow right wing tool, a demogogue. She slobbers and gushes & giggles like a school-girl.

Whether or not you agree that high stake pranks are funny, you’ll agree, Palin isn’t.. being a laughing stock, feeling foolish. We all cringe a little, because we know how that feels. BUT: As a VP she’d have been a huge pain in the butt, probably as bad as Cheney. Maybe worse. I feel sorry she’s so dumb. But she deservedit. Sarkozy is the very thing she is not: aristoratic, she wanted to do just as he did - take away civil rights, lord it over us. *** BTW he is a laughing stock as well - check out the voodoo doll incident. LOL the right wing has no sense of humor.

Seems this election cycle has had a terrible toll on your sense of humor…LOL.  Lighten up!  While some prank calls and other pranks are certainly ill-advised or just plain stupid (more in a second), this kind of thing is harmless, and does indeed say something about the recipient.
*****************************

Sorry I’m too busy ROFLMAO at “Tom Paine’s” suggestion that I’m naive for preferring Obama to Nader!

I don’t think these pranks are harmless at all and I don’t think they say ANYTHING about the recipient.  When political operatives pull them we condemn them as “dirty tricks”.  Had this call be set up by Obama ops it would NEVER be called a “prank” but would be labled a “dirty trick”.  So, to me, it’s still a dirty trick.

And such a dirty trick could have seriously hurt Obama.

It’s amazing how whenever someone objects to something tasteless, cruel, or flat-out stupid, somebody always says “Wassamatta? Doncha gota sensahumor?”.  In this case, no, I don’t.  I take that as something I’m proud of.

Re Howard Stern, it may interest you to know that I am the only person who ever got him to apologize on-air for one of his pranks.

In 1994, I coordinated a press conference for a fundraiser for pediatric AIDS, for which Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Marla Maples were co-chairs.  At the press conference, “Stuttering John” (who had been banned, but got in by paying off a legitimate media outlet) asked Cindy a couple of his usual obnoxious, inappropriate questions before we were able to cut his feed and throw him out.  (To her credit, Cindy handled the situation beautifully.)

I was so angry that I called Howard Stern the next day and told him that, while most of the pranks they play are harmless, this was a press conference for an event to raise money for infants and children with AIDS, and that it was beyond inappropriate to use it as a “prank” platform.  He claimed that he did not know what the press conference was for, only that Cindy was going to be there.  But he did agree that it was inappropriate.  That evening, while he was on the air, he publicly apologized.

For quite some time, the audio/video of that incident (including his apology) was a regular feature on “Best of Howard Stern.”

Peace.

I’m not with any of you.  I’m just relieved the pranksters weren’t American and weren’t Democrats.  I don’t find this funny.  I don’t think it reflects badly on Palin.  It’s no different than Howard Stern sending someone to interview Ted Williams and the guy asked Williams about passing gas, and Williams, rightfully, blew up at him. I wouldn’t think it funny if someone hit Sarah Palin in the face with a cream pie either, just a little shit-ass being obnoxious.

Understand: I think Sarah Palin is a menace and probably should go to jail for corruption.

But this prank to fool her was stupid and mean, and, from what I heard of the call, not her fault.  However, the aides vetting this deserved to have their heads and their walking papers handed to them…

As I said, I am SO glad it wasn’t anybody in the Obama camp or even in the country.

A huge mess that Obama has signed off on. On many of the big issues he is no different and had to pander the elitist support to have his chance. As well as the Israeli lobby which is a huge problem here at this moment and brings the US and the world to the cusp of a new WW.  Read the Nadar article, and recognise what the media pimped here. We’re only like 10% better off, maybe!

Mel Blanc (as Pepe LePew) did a better French accent than this guy.  It shows what a hic Sarah Palin is.

I’m still without a computer that has audio. (I know, I know…it’s a rough life) so I guess I’ll just have to take ya’ll’s word for it. wink

Meantime, we’ve got all of the celebration apparatus hooked up and ready to go live tomorrow, when Barack Obama is elected President.

After a well deserved celebration, we get to work. It’s 8 years delayed, and there is a huge mess to address.

Palin has popular appeal and she can bring in new voters to the fold.

McCain’s strategy seems to be working. Already twenty three percent of the people in Texas belive that Obama is a Muslim.

The best part is when the dj tells her she’s been punked and she tries to play along and asks for the stations call letters but then one of her reps rushes over and snatches the phone from her.  Priceless!

Incredible…. it is crazy that Palin is anywhere NEAR the presidency….  Michel Chossudovsky @ Global Research likened it to Bush…. I’d forgotten, but remember….

“It is worth noting, that a prank during the 2000 election campaign also took Governor George W. Bush quite unwittingly, revealing that he too did not know the name of the Canadian Prime Minister.

Governor George W. Bush was interviewed by CBC’s Rick Mercer for a satirical TV show on Canadian Network Television. He was asked what he thought of Canadian Prime Minister’s Jean Poutine’s endorsement of Bush’s candidacy.

Canada’s Prime Minister is Jean Chretien, not Jean Poutine. “Poutine” is a popular food in Quebec, consisting of French fries, gravy and cheese curd. Moreover, Poutine [Putin] is the name of then president of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin (In French Vladimir Poutine). Currently Putin is Russia’s Prime Minister.

“Jean Poutine”, Prime Minister of America’s “Northern Neighbor”  had endorsed Governor Bush’s candidacy. To which Bush responded:

“I appreciate his strong statement [,...] he understands I believe in free trade,...

He understands I want to make sure our relations with our most important neighbor to the north of us, the Canadians, is strong and we’ll work closely together.” (Note the similarity with Sarah Palin’s response to “Fake Sarkozy”).”(emphasis mine)

Chossudovsky also had this to say regarding American politics;

Candidates for high office are pre-selected by powerful interest groups operating from behind the scenes. They are not chosen for their integrity, knowledge or abilities, but for precisely the opposite reasons.

Candidates to high office are expected to serve America’s economic and financial elites, including Wall Street, the oil conglomerates and the military contractors.

The underlying objective—which applies in the case of Sarah Palin—-,  is to install politicians who are mere figureheads and who be easily manipulated into making farreaching decisions, on behalf of the economic eleites and against the public interest, on the war, the financial crisis, homeland security, etc. (emphasis mine)

Listen to the Audio first and then carefully review the transcript. And then decide for whom you want vote for on Tuesday morning.”

I’m guessing that the person vetting the phone calls was the one that they used as a standard for “vetting” Palin…I feel sorry for the dressing down I bet she got after they hung up.  That is if she even has a job.

Johnny Halliday!  That was a good one too!

This woman is such a numbskull.  I guess she didn’t take any foreign languages in high school or college (though in six years of college she would have gotten pretty good at one).

You’d think that someone who lives in Alaska would be interested in—say—Russian or French…  Guess not.  Ya just gotta get them to learn English!

Being a Michigander, Canadians have a special place in our hearts. Not only because of their ass kicking Beer, but also they can get away with things Our Gov’t can’t do a Damn thing about!!! Of course I’m Sure Sarah Wrote down those Call letters thinking she Will be able to have them arrested- Delusions of Granduer? Or perhaps she jsut added Canada to HER list of Countries to Attack when she knocks off McCain when they Steal this Election.
Careful Sarah there are many Border states which think more highly of the Canadians then we do of the ‘Small Town hard Working White Real Americans’ you think are still a Political Powerhouse.
Of Course if McCain’s Puppet masters Pull off Stealing this Election Too, There could be a wave of Successionism across the Country- You may end up begin President of 5 states WV,AL,MS,TN and AR….Not much economic power in those on the World market

As a French speaker I feel it is my duty to underline just how much these intrepid masked avengers actually got away with.
When ‘M. Sarkozy’ mentions his “Special American Campaign Adviser, Johnny Hallyday”, this is the person he is referring to:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Jn96ysEnx1Y
When he says they should go hunting together, he jokes: “like we say in French, ‘on pourrait tuer des bébés phoques’”, which actually means ‘we could kill baby seals’.
And the title of the song that his ‘wife’ Carla Bruni supposedly wrote for Sarah Palin, “Du rouge à lèvres sur un cochon”, translates as “Lipstick On A Pig”.
Now dear Mrs. Palin either needs to take some French lessons (or alternatively learn to recognise a French Canadian accent) or she needs to take long, hard look in the mirror because that was just…
Hockey Mom needs to wake up.

Hysterical - and scary.
