Even tho “they” have TRIED TO POLISH HER…..She still sounds Uneducated and Underinformed…Her high pitched nasal whine is SO VERY IRRITATING as she TRIES TO SOUND LIKE SHE HAS some “CLASS”...I still say that if MY GRANDAUGHTER dragged her D.S. child around like “mooseturd” does-Child Protective Service would be ALL OVER IT…...

Mackenzie Merrill: you got that right. It’s a SNL skit gone wrong.

The GOP ticket consists of a man whose principle claim is that he has been “tested” and a woman who “has executive experience.” You don’t say.

By “tested” do you mean he was tortured and imprisoned, and he survived. How does that test the judgment, temperament, and agility to handle the dauntingly complex array of issues confronting the world’s waning superpower on a global stage? How does courage in the face of physical torment test you to lead a divided nation to some kind of consensus? You might as well say that I’m qualified to run General Electric because I once shocked myself by touching a live wire.

By “executive experience” do you mean running a very small municipality into the ground with your decisions while delegating all of the management to a town administrator? Or do you just count the 18 months you spent as governor of a state with the population of an LA suburb – long enough to extort an extra $1,000 for every man, woman, and child from the oil industry (that’ll win some popularity, you betcha!), but not long enough to do anything substantive beyond canning a few people and hiring old high school pals in their place? You might as well promote the GM of a small rural dealership to CEO of GM.

Running for VP is only the start of Sarah Palin’s ambition namely to become the first female President of our country. She was not “selected” by the McCain campaign, she “offered” herself unabashedly for the VP-ship. There is nothing strange or wrong with that because many VP-candidates have done that in our country’s history but it should be noted.

Sarah Palin has little to lose now. The Republican base will blame a defeat of McCain/Palin on McCain and not on Palin and he knows it. She will emerge smelling like roses to the Republican base. According to them she will have fought “like a man” and McCain “like a sissy.”

One scenario in her dreamworld is that an Obama Presidency will be a disaster in which case she will run in the 2012 Republican primaries. She may run anyway, no matter what. I predict: with the same results.

If the Republican ticket wins this time she is an immense step closer to her goal. McCain will not run in 2012 and no other candidate will have any chance against her.

If you do not understand what Sarah Palin is after, you cannot understand her behavior. McCain or Obama are only stepping stones for her ruthless ambition. I believe that she has contempt for both Presidential candidates and for that matter all politicians except herself.

There is a second thing you must understand about Sarah Palin. She has participated in beauty contests hence she has been trained to give answers and statements with a radiant smile no matter what the topic is and no matter whether she understands what she is talking about. Just like juries of beauty contests there are voters who fall for it.

If McCain loses he will return to the Senate. He can only atone for his vile attacks on Senator Obama by voting for every law that a President Obama supports. If he does not he ought to be ignored together with his pal Lieberman.

Once Obama/Biden are in office, priorities must be:
1. To separate the “Corporate” from the “Media” so that our news returns to the business of educating the public rather than selling toothpaste and cars.
2. To get our electorate off its ass and participate in this democracy. This Bush/Cheney abomination has happened under our collective watch.

My take on the Sarah Palin Situation was and remains:

It’s not enough just to question her experience, her positions on the issues, her temperament, her intelligence, or her religious beliefs.

We have to question our entire political system - and our electorate that has allowed its creation.

That a once-respected, 150-year old Party within the most powerful nation on earth, drawing from an adult population of some 200 million, would wish to place this person in its Number Two position, is pathetic.

I’ve been thinking about Snow Whites Cottage a lot lately [don’t ask] so I’m looking at that photo of Palin and something occures to me.

Take that face, pull the hair back, take off the glasses, put a fitted black wimple with pointy forehead at the scull, and what do you have? Why it’s Snow White’s wicked stepmother! Oh my gosh ...

I’m still looking for the wicked witch of the West to turn up in that cloudy sky over Portsmouth, Ohio.

And whats all that got to do with anything anyway? Well nothing, except everybody loves fantasy and fairy tales. Apparently repubs more than dems, which might explain why some folks love Palin and McCain.

I am from a small Island in Alaska south of Anchorage.  Most of us are appalled at the choice of Sarah Palin as VP and watched her debates with Halcro and Tony Knowles of which she spoke without answering the question.

At the beginning of this news clip, she was asked about the release of her health records and she acted as though arrogant that anyone would ask!  SHE is running for VP and the public will ask varying questions about her ability, or lack thereof, to run for VP.

I agree with Colin Powell of whom I deeply admire for his intelligence and understanding of world affairs, she does not have the knowledge, the tools, the philosophy, the political knowhow to be in that position. Help us all if McCain passes away while he is president.

Yeah though she is governor of our rather large state with a small population, she has only been governor for less than 24 months, there are state employers that WORK for her to assist her and come up with the required answers that she needs to run the state.

It is also well known in Juneau, our capital city, she is barely there for meetings and camped out at her house of which we are paying her to stay in and should be taxed as income. We even payed for her family to attend 1st Dudes snow mobile race!!

Let’s remember that she spent six years achieving her degree to become a journalist, she can barely get to the point on an answer to a question. she fought back against Troopergate of which she said she would answer all questions and then refused..this is arrogance and was supported by McCain of whom has had a very arrogant past history in his military career because “daddy” was an admiral.

It occurs to me that John McCain’s “Experience” is touted.  Experience is ONLY valuable if it brings good judgment.  McCain has shown anything BUT good judgment which means his experience is WORTHLESS!

Obama has shown excellent judgment particularly in how he manages his campaign.  He’s shown far sounder judgment re: Foreign policy, economics, health care, environment, energy—-and in his VP pick.

Wisdom is a reflection of good judgment.
Good judgment is the result of learning from experience.
Experience comes from….
BAD JUDGMENT!

McCain hasn’t learned from his bad judgment.  Obama has.  We’ve had 8 years of a president who never learns from his bad judgment because he doesn’t believe he ever has bad judgment.  Isn’t that enough?

Based on Palin philosophy of experience, she should be the only candidate running for president because executive experience is the only real qualification, and none of the other candidates have any executive experience.  No merit is given for extensive education, expertise in constitutional law, grassroots politics, state politics, federal politics, intellectual curiosity, or an ability to think and respond with depth and understanding.

Louise stated it correctly…..Palin’s executive experience in politics has been possible for one reason….. location, location, location.  Her continued success in the national political spotlight will be as a poster woman of the Neoconservative Republican right wing ideals.

In answer to questions which only require a basic GOP philosophy.  She does not do well on questions which require basic information about our government, our constitution, or our relationships within the world community.

It as my father-in-law used to say,  “is dangerous to have a little bit of knowledge”.  The confidence, indeed arrogance which McCain and Palin bring to the table, coupled with dangerous lack of understanding and their unwillingness to speak with and listen to others holding different positions will only result in great tragedy of America.

We have lied our way into war to attempt to sustain our “American Ideal”, our excessive lifestyle,  and it is bringing the world economy to the brink of collapse.  McCains policies could well lead us not only into depression, but the nightmare of nuclear war.  We do not avoid this danger with Obama, his bluster over Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan all concern me, as well as the difficult we will have leaving Iraq,  but there is some hope that his even temperament and ability bring people together might lead to some progress in international relations.  America can no longer treat the rest of the world as if they are our servants, tending to our every desire.  We cannot pretend to be the parent telling the children what to do.  Our leadership is desperately needed,  but as an adult sitting at a table of adults, leading because we articulate reasons plans, which benefit others as well as ourselves.  This Obama is much better prepared to do than the McCain Palin ticket.

Of course one would expect Mr. Williams to pounce on Palin when she states obvious mis-statement. But for all we know there may have been pre-conditions. [In fact I’m quite sure there were] Like if you ask a question she may not know the answer to, the interview is over.

As I understand it, this interview has been parced out into three segments. Now how happy would those corporate sponsors be if two and three never happened?

As far as I’m concerned, the only notable thing that came out of this segment is what a wimp McCain is. Suddenly it becomes abundantly clear why he chose Palin. She’s quick, verbose and doesn’t bat an eyelash, even if she doesn’t have a clue what she’s talking about!

McCain on the other hand is slow, tends to rattle around an answer [right or wrong] and his eyelids are batting all the time anyway, so there’s no charm there!

Long way of saying ... McCain NEEDED someone sitting next to him who’s quick on the uptake, will jump in and clarify [sorta] his non-specific, specifics, like “I’ve been tested,” and make up a few along the way, if necessary. Worked well for a while, but now?

Her quickness highlights his slowness. Her bright and cheery apparent self-confidence highlights his glum and ineffective efforts at humor. And her age highlights his OLD age.

This reminds me, like so many, of the ditsy answer given by the charming beauty queen to an intelligent answer. Palin discovered she could charm an audience with her smiling empty headed blather.

Most “didn’t quite make it” beauty queen contestents go on to be wannabbee models or movie stars. Palin decided to take her smile and her ditsy answers into politics. She never would have been able to pull it off had she been running for Mayor in say, Cincinnati. But hooking up with the Dude, and location made it possible.

Location, location, location. That’s why she’s such a hit in the less than heavy traveled, areas of rural America.

Right now, we are all living in denial. That’s what happens when you wonder if you’ll have a job, or a retirement account tomorrow. But McCain is living in denial MORE than ALL of us! Because he truly believes his pretty Palin is going to win the election for him!

And his dependence on her, more than anything else, tells us all, we better not depend on him.

What a VP does is wait - he/she runs nothing, he/she is in charge of nothing - just runs to the Senate to break a tie vote - and waits, and waits, and maybe replaces the president temporarily (and waits some more) or permanently (no more waiting). The VP has no input into policy making or execution - and likely will have an office in a bunker remote to the action anyway.

Palin loves to tout her executive experience as though it is relevant. Her experience as a mayor included a very small staff and budget, and a couple of meetings a week. Wasilla was too small for most town or city services.

As a governor, six pack Sarah lives at home most of the time and charges a per diem to the State of Alaska - does some ceremony posturing and traveling - and that’s it. That’s executive experience that the position doesn’t need.

Give us a break. Go out and shop til you drop! But next time do it on your own tab!

They might as well toot something. When Senator McCain states that he has been tested, I guess that refers to his days in the infamous Hanoi Hilton? What that has to do with being challenged as President, is at best a stretcher, as Mark Twain once said.
Don’t you love accepted conventional wisdom? When Governor Palin refers to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as a dictator, you did not see Brian (he likes to be called Mister) Williams interrupt and say: excuse me Governor, you said dictator, isn’t the President of Iran an elected official? The sixth president who won 62 percent of the vote in a run-off election? Of course not. Nor has the myth about the Iranian President being in charge of their military ever been debunked. Instead we have the sartorially splendid Mrs. Caribou, talking about the future president of the U.S. being challenged by that Iranian dictator.
This was an opening (as they say in political double speak) that was pounced on after Zionist Senator Joe Biden opened wide even further a mouth that never seems to close about the “test” of the next U.S. president. And please note, when I say Zionist, I am not being snarky, this is what Senator Biden has called himself.
