Christopher Buckley: ‘So Much for the Conservative Revolution’Posted on Oct 15, 2008
“I wrote a posting—I guess they’re called,” says neophyte blogger and newly discharged National Review columnist Christopher Buckley, describing the first step in a process that began with his confession, on The Daily Beast, that he was breaking with the GOP to vote for Barack Obama, and ended with his resignation from the conservative magazine his father founded. “Hardball” via YouTube: Advertisement Previous item: National Review Scribe Tells All on 'Colbert'! Subject:An Opened Letter to Mr. Christopher Buckley.
I SALUTE you for being honest with yourself first and equally honest with your peers at the “National Review” magazine which your father, the late William F. Buckley, had founded. You are NOT alone who has done so,in the conservative movement and the Republican Party, who have come forwards and publicly declared that they would support and vote for Barack Obama for President of the United State of America. Two names of
Republican personalities come to mind, since both had
delivered speeches from the platform of the Democratic Party’s convention held in August of 2008,
in Denver,Colorado: Susan Eisenhower, the grand-daughter of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, one of the greatest and most HONEST President whoever occupied the White House, and James Leach, the former U.S. Congressman from Iowa.I am almost sure there are other open-minded and moderate Republicans who have
already done so or will come forward and support and vote for Barack Obama. Those are the GENUINE Republicans who put their conscience first.
I write this letter to you NOT as a Democrat, because
I am NOT,but as an Independent Centrist Voter who intend to remain so until death.I also intend to vote for Obama.
Thank you for being what you are: a man of conscience
and moral courage and convictions.A Great Stand.
I wish also to thank Chris Mathews, the anchorman of
Report this“HARDBALL”,MSNBC cable channel and YOUTUBE for making
your episode with the National Review magazine’s crowd available for the American people to watch and see and reach their own conclusions….....

Of course, Mr. Buckley, is the inheritor of a great and tolerant mind. One thing is for certain, Chris Buckley can and does think for himself, and does not toe a party line.
Report thisMr. Buckley Jr. was one of the greatest minds of his time, he was impressive to the nth degree. Although I disagreed with some or most of the stances he took regarding governance, he was a person who, given facts would allow differing opinions and another person to disagree with him.
This is in stark contrast to the current crop of goony birds that are in power. The GOP does not and cannot brook any dissent from the party line and that’s why, Mr. C. Buckley’s resignation was so quickly accepted. If one wants to find out the depths to which the Grand Orgy Party has sunk, one need only look at H.R. 1955- The Homegrown Terrorist and Radicalization Act of 2008. In this bill, you will find that the Bill of Rights has been suspended and your rights as an American citizen to seek redress through means of logic and the courts have been stripped from you.
This bill is an abomination! Benjamin Franklin wrote the following, “Any citizen or group of people, who willingly give up their rights for security, deserve neither those rights nor security.”
This is a most apropos statement, the coming days, will see if the people of America choose their rights over the need for absolute tyranny. This tyranny, which will be brought to you by the GOP.
Should the presidential election go to the Republicans, there will be no more democratic representation in America. This will become the fascist state that is represented in “Animal Farm,” where the least amount of people, receive the most amount of benefits, from the work of the most amount of people, much the same as the communistic dictatorship of the Soviet Union.
Mr. Buckley thank for having the courage of your convictions and speaking out against the tide of hatred and racial discrimination that is the campaign of McCain-Palin.
Who by the way are the dumbest bunnies on this planet.

How refreshing it is to see and hear a conservative who listens and uses reason, even if I disagree with him, he has my respect. Of course he does not speak for the frenzied morons we see in the media. Open debate of opinions is what we need more of, not self serving righteousness we are so inundated with.
