Al-Jazeera Profiles Fanatics ... in Small-Town Ohio

Posted on Oct 15, 2008

Here’s what one McCain-Palin supporter had to say about Barack Obama: “I don’t like the fact that he thinks us white people are trash, because we’re not.” No, the people who think that may not be trash, but they are full of nonsense, as are those in this clip who declare that Obama is a terrorist.

These redneck white folks just hide behind their religion.  THey hide behind their guns and use the bible to hide their true feelings and use the name of God for this hatred.  What kind of christians are they?  Are they all inbred?  Folks, get an education and ask for forgiveness from your God.  You should goo and get educated and quit hiding behind the Bible.

“The people in this country need to get a pair, there should have been a revolution a long time ago.”

Guess you missed the revolution DocReality…it’s already happened. The neocon radicals high jacked us, and the shit has been really messed up ever since.

THESE are the people who brought us 8 years of Dick Bush misery that will take decades to recover from. Nader can’t do it, and neither can McKinney or Mickey Mouse.

We need somebody with some damn INTELLIGENCE, and good judgment, and common sense, and a means of communicating with the rest of us.

Meantime, I love Rodger Lemonade’s suggestion that these people should exercise their right to remain silent. If I had said that, the regular whackos on this board would have me tarred and feathered for trying to stifle free speech.

More seriously though, even if they weren’t saying it, they’d still be thinking it. I don’t understand how such ignornance continues to cultivate. Then again, I do. We’ve spent the last 8 years going backwards. (no excuse for the previous 2 centuries though)

Where are these characters from? I certainly don’t want to ever go there. They should exercise their right to remain silent. Any one that toxic is defining trash. I would treat them much worse than Obama would. Fortunately they will probably get so drunk on election day they will forget to vote.

Sorry is not necessary, just being aware; aware differences are used as a tool to divide people much further apart than they would be, without direct influence and manipulation of those differences. Any and all differences, not just the ones seen here on these posts.

I suppose I should say sorry, but I have no idea how to identify with the people in this video.  Yet I know many just like them and I understand that this represents a huge portion of our society.  I was raised to understand that the only way to correct bad behavior is through punishment and I believe these people are simply exhibiting ignorant, lazy, self-serving, trailer-park, bad behavior.  I don’t say they shouldn’t be allowed to change, but I don’t think I would have any of them over for tea or a beer.  They should be identified and kept under close surveillance.

Stereotyping is a luxury of manipulator’s. Yes we feel we are seeing ignorance at it’s finest. Name calling such as using “white trash” is only effective at increasing the divide.  Divisiveness uses stereotyping, the most important and only tool in the McCains/Palin’ arsenal.  Name calling of any kind, only supports and besots more of the same, increased separations of us and them.

Was this an audition for “White Trash” the movie?  Right out of central casting I’d say.

I agree Shemp…Remember that these are the same people that blindly voted for Bush. It’s a game of fear; who will make you less scared of the country you live in. The people in this video are the uneducated or too lazy to do any research beyond the commercials they see on TV. The fools in this video are afraid of change…at least when it’s a black man calling for the change. I’m a white boy from the Washington DC and I have never voted in any election up till now…this time I will be voting because it was a mistake NOT to vote in the last two elections and I will not be making that mistake again. Obama has the chance and the intelligence, and the drive, and the staff to stir up washington. McCain wants to preserve Washington…to drill off the coast and do NOTHING about our long term problems.

Re: LiberalTruthseeker

But remember the “Reverend” Rob Parsley has a large ministry in Ohio, and when you have a minister who promotes hatred, religious intolerance, and “Holy Wars” some people are going to believe what he says, especially when men like Senator McCain describe Parsley as being “one of our truly great leaders.”

Living in Ohio most of my life I know that not everyone here is like that, but at the same time it is embarrassing to me that in a time when information is so readily available there is such ignorance. Americans and the people in this video especially, are not illiterate; they are ‘alliterate.’ They have the capacity to learn and find out information for themselves but they choose not to and are consequently satisfied being told what to think by such ‘great luminaries’ as Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly, and Sean Hannity. The Conservative Movement is vastly losing whatever credibility it had as it lashes out at anyone with a different perspective or opinion, including their own surrogates like Kathleen Parker and Charlie Buckley labeling them as ‘traitors betraying the cause.’ Any intellectuals left in the Conservative Movement are sure to be exiled for being ‘elitist.’

This proves that America is an accident that has already happened.
McCain? Obama? there is no difference. These guys get their orders and paychecks from the same entities behind the screen. Americans are completely brainwashed. With no real media or honest information these whackjobs wouldn’t know black from white.
Vote McKinney or Nader or Mickey Mouse for that matter. If Americans really want the ’ change’ that they pontificate so much about, then stop supporting the Repubocrat party. The people in this country need to get a pair, there should have been a revolution a long time ago.

It is for shame that there are in these enlightened times, many who still believe that an African-American cannot be president, should not be president, and would try to assassinate that same man.
It is not just parts of America that are living in the Dark Ages, it is sadly most of the country. This should be evident by the remarks at McCain-Palin rallies.  Remarks such as, “Kill Obama,” “behead him,” “shoot the bastard,” and much more that is not worthy of the space for this blog.
I am personally ashamed, that there are such ignorant and racist people alive today.  More than this, these are the same people who have given up their rights for security. Benjamin Franklin wrote, “A country or people that gives up its rights for security, is worthy of neither the security or the rights.”
This is more than a statement of fact, it is the truth embodied in a most cogent argument. America has given up its freedom for its safety, since Sept. 11, 2001.
And the president, the shrub and his gang of five, have used this to every advantage they could in the last 7 years. No wonder that this country is in the shape it is in now! We have neglected our responsibilities as citizens and more than this, the Congress has openly stated that there would be no punishment for high crimes and misdemeanors, that have occurred on the watch of the shrub.
Torture, the negation of the writ of habeas corpus, the Armed Forces of our country, on readiness alert, for civil uprisings, bills such as HR 1955. All these facts put together, portend a very fascist and dominating future for the US. Not that we will be doing the dominating, but that we, the Amerikkkan people will be dominated by a single family, which will have hereditary powers and transfer those powers from father to son or daughter in much the same fashion as those countries of the middle east and far east have dictatorships.
Ours though will have at its base a theocracy, based not on the Qu’ran, but the fundamentalist interpretations of the New Testament, will hold sway over the people of this country.
I find this a very frightening concept, which will if the electorate does not take back the power that was instituted in the Constitution and enshrined in the Bill of Rights. We are after all a country of law, founded by men, who believed above all else that the law should hold sway over men and women, not some fairy tale book which has at its root a theology that is based upon a tale of a man who claimed to be G-d himself.

The “Dark Ages” seems a reasonable phrase to use in this case.  It’s scary how this campaign has grown fur and teeth in the past few weeks.  I’m speaking, of course, about the McCain crap slinging, and as well about the extremists who somehow get into the venues when McCain speaks and they come out with the spookiest stuff.  How about that woman and her, “Obama is an Arab,” comment.  McCain had to snatch the microphone away from her fast and correct the record.

I’m out in the San Francisco market, so we don’t get very many pro-McCain/Palin ads and zero anti-Obama spots.  I don’t feel slighted.

At work I fielded one comment from a caucasian lady:  “I don’t think America is ready for a Black president.”  I wanted to wheel her antiquated attitudes down to the nearest museum!  Where do these people come from?  It’s hard to live in a country that has such in inbred, self-sustaining ego, an arrogance that goes beyond self-assurance all the way to domination in some minds.
Even I bought the public education version of America for a long time:  Always the good guys, always on the side of right, always win a fight because God is always on America’s side…ad nauseum.
“American” is not synonymous with caucasian—wake up and smell the beef tips.  I say America was not ready for a Texan with lots of corporate favors to pay back; America was not ready for a D+ student with a posse of really smart and evil people in tow.

I’d like, one day, to be able to hop a plane to anywhere and be welcomed as an American.  Most of the planet is not exactly excited about the new American paradigm of invade first, find the intelligence and the justifiable reasons later.  This election might just see the advent of a new type of American foreign policy, where the U. N. becomes the forum for settling disputes and not the defense contractors.

I always try to leave the door open just a crack for the American extremists who may finally have their epiphany and realize how small the planet is—too small for anyone to have large egos and huge self-esteem issues.

Sadly interesting at two levels:

1. It used to be that American networks would to go out of their way to report on Arab and Muslim fanatics who hated America and wanted to destroy it, simply because they envied our freedoms and prosperity! Now, here is an Arabic network reporting on the fanatics of America who hate one of their own because he is not a “White trash” like them!

2. Despite all the garbage some “white trash” have been digging against Obama to incite bigotry, hate and racism, to my be best knowledge no body reported anything to the extend that Obama ever insinuated something like the idea of “white trash” working to undermine him. In fact, all what Obama been doing is to convince those self-described “white trash” that he is one of them because he is a Christian and his mother was white hoping that he would be accepted.

In fact, what we’ve been seeing from the Palin-McCain attack dogs and what this report confirms is that indeed America still has big piles of “white trash”!

Sad! Sad! Sad! Indeed parts of America are still living in the DARK AGES!

Blowback from the disgusting rhetoric of the Clinton campaign inflamed by the McCain/Palin campaign.

I couldn’t tell you how many times through the years that I’ve been nicely cajoled to “understand what will really happen to us whites” if ANYONE of any ethnicity should attain a position of power.  Since I was a child, by all types and by some of the sweetest grammas.

It’s hard to believe how serious they are.  These people are DEAD SERIOUS and they’re scared.  Reasoning with them concerning the facts has no effect.  “DON’T I KNOW HOW DANGEROUS WHAT I’M SAYING IS!”  It’s like those dogs that fear-bite… afraid….be afraid…be afraid….

Anyway, I found this on the net.  It is SATIRE.  But this guy does it so well, it’s almost hard to tell.  LOL.

LOL, tour Canada with BillyBobNeck.
