McCain Was Speaker at 2006 ACORN-Sponsored Immigration RallyPosted on Oct 14, 2008
“What makes America special is what’s in this room tonight,” says the keynote speaker in this video clip from February 20, 2006. Who was speaking that night? None other than Republican presidential candidate John McCain. Where was he speaking? At Miami Dade College in Miami, Florida, at an immigration rally sponsored by—wait for it—ACORN. Looks like a self-narrating ad…

The point is McCain will say and do anything to become president, principles and ideology be damned. Except, and this is important, except when protecting business interests like those represented by the lobbyists on his staff. Heck, McCain is married to Business, his wife owning one that depends on favorable policies and no regulations. How can he have the chutzpah to masquerade as a maverick out to protect ordinary people? Why would people fall for it?
This stuff about ACORN is pure fiction and it’s a smear meant to suppress low income voting by intimidating those who try to equip these people with some understanding of their rights and power. I’m surprised that the media haven’t factchecked these charges to put ACORN in proper perspective.
McCain is proving himself to be as despicable as his predecessor and not very smart.

Mr McCain’s campaign is actively hassling ACORN registrations now. Just like he loves Bush tax cuts now, though he thought more wisely a couple of years back. Just like he embraces US torture now, though he thought more wisely a couple of years back. Just like he embraces right-wing-nuts from the religious right (see Alaska Governor) though he thought more wisely a couple years ago
Either his reasoning powers have failed, or he’ll do anything to become president. neither gives comfort nor solves America’s problems.
vote for Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden - the better hope for our future
