‘I’m Not Going to the Back of the Bus’Posted on Oct 12, 2008
America has come a long way, says Democratic strategist and CNN personality Donna Brazile, so if Americans don’t vote for Barack Obama, it had better be because of his policies.

If any woman has ever benefited from advancement through failure and affirmative action it is Donna Brazile. She ran one of the most inept campaigns in living memory yet is rewarded based on her race and gender. Its a shame really. I’ve worked with other women of color that were advanced in liberal politics because the ‘candidate’ or ‘organization’ needed to have a more diverse character. I’ve listened to people behind the scenes complain about how the new hire is worthless but it ‘looks good’. Donna Brazile looks good but she should not have enjoyed a new position based on a horrid campaign.
And, Obama is pro-Israel. He already went to AIPAC and signed up for their program. It is unlikely that he is a radical likudite but he will not force a peace deal between the Israelis and Palestinians. Anyone who think he is not part of the Israeli lobby are deluded.
I would really appreciate it if the Democrats would just go away and rename themselves the Rockefeller Republicans. The Republicans have moved so far right the Rockefeller Republicans have joined and corrupted the Democratic party.

The video was about segregation how in the world it drifted to be about Obama’s Israel policy? and if we talk policies, I will be refresing to here about Obama’s middle east policy which is much larger and wider than one or other country in the region?

Dear Tony,
Sorry to have included you in my previous post. I completely agree with your analysis of Obama’s position on Isreal. It is measured and well-reasoned, as are almost all of his positions.

ribbie,
Thanks, I appreciate your retraction. Yes, we agree, all his positions are measured and well-reasoned, including Israel/Palestine. His position on Israel is far better for Israel and Jews (as well as Palestinians, the United States and rest of the world) than rightwing’s Likudnik position. I believe most American Jews will agree and will vote for Obama, thus proving that they are still progressive Democrats. The Likudniks will vote for McCain. Fine. So be it.

Thank you, rightwing and Tony
Please keep making such moronic and bigoted comments. You prove beyond a doubt how devoid of intelligence and human understanding people of your ilk are. It’s hard for me to believe that we share human DNA. Every stroke of your keyboard demonstrates to the world how mindless and sad you and people LIKE you are. Keep up the good work...your mother must be SO proud.

Rightwing,
I have to thank you for posting these links, that third one especially. I am going to send it to every leftwinger I know who has doubts about Obama’s Israel policy, believing that it is too pro-Israel. It is a very fair presentation of Obama’s real position on Israel. No only that, I am going to send it to every progressive Jew I know to show them why they should vote FOR Obama. You see, what this video presents only looks anti-Obama to right-wing Jews like you. Fortunately, most Jews are progressive. I am willing to bet that over 75% of all American Jews will in fact vote for Obama.

The election of Obama is indeed a major, major benchmark of this country’s progress in race relations. We have fallen behind other industrialized countries in so many ways during the last 40 years of Republican reaction, but Obama’s election would show that we still lead the world in some ways. It would indeed make me prouder than I have ever been to be an American.

Obama will win because of his policies, but if he loses, it will be because of race and race alone.
And in this day and age, that will be a travesty.
I am not an Obama supporter, but even I don’t believe he should lose to race.
Is this a test? Will the outcome of this election with an Obama win be the real end of Donna Brazille’s worry of returning to the back of the bus?
And if he loses due to race? We have not progressed as a society as perceived?
I don’t believe it.

If you allow me to call you sister Danna, I watch you sparing on CNN, and always found you too self-controled. Can that be explained by what your Mom told you, If so, I like your persona on this video much better. I am an Egyptian, Arab, I sat in the front of the buss, not because of money, had the chances and could have continued to do so any where in the world. But I choose early in life to speak up for the people in the back of the buss.
Report thisI disagree on many issues with sen. Obama, however, I admire his choice to invest his talent serving the those how are back and down.
