Palin and Hannity
youtube.com

Thank goodness there was Fox News host Sean Hannity to fill the excruciating void between Sarah Palin’s big interview with ABC’s Charlie Gibson and her upcoming one-on-one with CBS’ Katie Couric. On Wednesday he sat down with Palin for the benefit of Fox’s conservative-friendly audience. So how’d she do this time?

Nothing unusual in the show. Anytime Hannity is involved, one knows what to expect! The man is wrong on so many issues, that you kind of get used to it. I still cannot determine how FOX claims to be fair and balanced, yet continues to have this clown running a show.

I have to agree with “Jeff” ... the whole Palin fixation is dangerous for Obama.  She has the same appeal as W had to the ill-informned and anti-intellectual.  People who delight in saying “nucular” just to piss-off people who “think they are better than them” will hear her.  Jeff is right that for the Fox News audience this was a perfectly fine recitation of talking points.  Her memorisation is not perfect (like saying ANWR is the size of LAX when she meant the area to be drilled) but, again, to an anti-intellectual that proves she is “just folks”.

The point for Democrats is that trickle down economics and belligerent foreign policy have been disasters.  McCain (or Palin if he dies or any other front for corporate interests) will only extend the pain.  So Obama has to use his own knowledge as a constitutional lawyer to redress the damage, lose Rueben now and cut loose the lobbyists on the 21st of January 2009.

Fingers crossed…

You asked, “So how’d she do this time?” I read through the comments before posting this one and I am struck by how off-topic every one of them is.  Not one of them answered the question.  I don’t agree with Palin, make no mistake about that.  Confirmation of that statement is available on my blog. I want to say, though, that I thought Palin did a wonderful job.  Did she catch some softballs?  Sure.  Did Hannity look supportive?  Yep.  But look at this interview from the standpoint of a die-hard Fox viewer.  Palin covered all the talking points and did so very effectively.  She was measured, didn’t attack Obama very hard, spoke well, sounded rational and, most important of all, addressed her audience’s dislike of the current state of affairs.  I am disappointed that the commenters, so far, have not addressed the appeal she has for her adoring crowds.  Instead, all I read is how horrible Palin will be for America.  She might well be horrible for America, but making statements like those made so far doesn’t improve our understanding of the Palin phenomenon.  I know you folks can do better - get off your high horses and talk some sense for a change. Stinky Pants, you take Palin to task for not knowing how to spell “oversight” and you misspell the word! I’m supposed to have some respect for your views?

How can such arrant, retrograde nonsense pass over such pretty lips? Sarah Palin is so lovely, so appealing, and so scary. Her heart skips a beat when she sees a soldier in uniform at the airport? How about a state trooper in uniform who beats up her sister? This election is Tweedle-dum versus Tweedle-dee, as usual. Sarah does add a bit of spice.

Did anoyone else notice that she shakes her head “no” when she’s answering in the affirmative? That’s not a good sign. I wonder why Colmbs dind’t get a chance to pitch some softballs at her…

people are addicted to opium =OPM= other people’s money. WTF! This is THE IDIOCRACY. Perhaps “opium” is people falling for this teevee creation that is Palin.

This is getting more and more surreal with every passing day. This woman has nothing concrete to say or offer; it might be a talking cardboard cutout or an anchorwoman in podunk.

Part of my income is derived by “reading” people.  I’ll make an educated guess that Pistol Packin’ Palin is anything but authentic (except for the Pistol Packin’ part).  Only 7% of a communicaion is derived from the words in a statement. The true meaning of a communication resides in the other 93%.She’s obviously been programmed with the words and trained in Presentation Skills.  All very apparent to the trained eye.  My evaluation is she is all mask and persona. I wouldn’t trust who she is behind the mask to be my friend much less possibly President of my country.

This interview was worthless. Palin can’t even spell oversite let along explain what kind of oversite is needed. Her method of answering question is to talk and talk and talk and talk and takl until you have no idea what the question was and not answer the question.

Palin is trying her best to play in the big leagues but, she doesn’t know her ass from a hole in the ground.

Hannity looks hungry for the MILF. just look at how sweet he talks to her and gazes at her while she rambles on and on and on about nothing specific.
