Robert Greenwald and Co. have collected some of the worst examples of John McCain’s deceptive campaign ads. Straight talk indeed.

Where is the media to call a lie - a lie? Much of the media is doing the same thing they did with the Iraq war - burying their heads in the sand. Just read SB0099 from the Illinois State legislature. McCain claims Obama supports sexual education of kindergarten kids. Not so – except to ensure kids are safe and not exploited. You all know that.  The bill calls for sex ed that includes abstinence and requires age appropriate material. Here are some excerpts:

“No pupil shall be required to take or participate in
any class or course in comprehensive sex education if the pupil’s his parent or guardian submits written objection thereto”

“Course   material   and   instruction   shall emphasize that the pupil has the power to control personal behavior.  Pupils shall be encouraged to base their actions on reasoning, self-discipline, sense of responsibility, self-control, and ethical considerations, such as respect for oneself and others.”

“Course material and instruction shall teach
pupils to not make unwanted physical and verbal sexual advances and how to say no to unwanted sexual advances.”

Sure was easy for me to check if McCain’s ad was a huge distortion. Does the mass media have investigative journalists with guts and ethics?

Rove has taken over the McCain campaign because he knows that he and several others amoung the neo-cons stand a good chance of going to the slammer if McCain doesn’t win.  They’re inventing lies out of whole cloth every day.

I am not at all shocked. This silliness is all this old rascal has to roll on. McCain is struggling at the mercy of the overworked media. The minute Palin is perpwalked off his campaign for her abuses of power, McCain knows we’ll be sticking a fork in her. This thing is nowhere near close, even with the deliberate media shutout.

It’s positively surreal. “They” predict that the Obama supporters will “revolt” against his “soft” stance(s)and of his “inability/unwillingness” to respond “in kind”. Yeah, that’s the first, and reactionary, thought(s) being felt and spoken to on the NET. Why “not” respond as planned/expected by the “Rovian” smear crap and show that we care and will NOT respond as they anticipate we will? Don’t withold any further contributions, folks!! He needs to fight fire with fire, for sure, but also needs to “stay above” the crap that “they” are so adept at. I “offer” a few “points” that should be “utilized” as necessary to combat this “twisted” mentality and disdain for the American voting public and for its intelligence. Here’s a few:
(1) How does this idiot even get admitted to the Naval Academy in the first place?  He finished his “illustrious” college career within the “top” 99.44% of his class.  Folks, this isn’t physics majors from an MIT graduating class, its a military school!!  Land of higher learning??
(2) the U.S.S. Forrestal - While “hot-dogging” he “wet starts” his fighter jet and causes the death of over 160 naval personnel, injuring nearly a thousand, and significant/costly damage to our vessel. Airlifted out, not injured, to “protect” him from the wrath of the sailors of that ship. Can you say “privileged”?
(3) How many planes did this “boy wonder” crash before being shot down? Was #893 or #892 or #790 allowed to fly our costly fighters? Was he injured through “improperly” ejecting, once shot down?
(4) How many “videos” did he “star” in that comdemned our country’s policies for being in VN?
POW? yes.  Hero?  Give me a break. Just another “kid” with military privilege taking advantage of his birth to “offset” his gross ineptitude.
Obama needs to “quickly” strike back from the smears with something not often experienced in the political arena.  TRUTH !!!  Hit him with it and HIT him hard.  Screw the MSM.  Let the 527’s loose.  They’re “chomping at the bit” for some major-league payback. A “little” of their own “technique” back at them is being strongly called for and can be very successful in “dampening” their agressiveness in attacking and “avoiding” the issues that are first and foremost in American’s concerns/worries.

Given the issues of ethics, already reported, Palin misused her position to mislead constituents to gain higher office and to target subordinates whom she viewed as a threat.  When queried about her behavior, she lied (subsequent investigation has proven that). There is an open ethics violation investigation, with Palin’s staff currently filing a motion to quash subpoenas issued to gain testimony in the case.  The testimony in question is expected to be unfavorable to Palin.  Her record, with even a very short public office history, seems to be: lie, cover-up or use of office to make trouble go away.  This is what we’ve had too much of in Washington, D.C.; once it has been proven, why usher more of it into office.  Palin’s speech-writer for the convention deserves some kind of prize, as well as the GOP teams following her travels this week and cribbing her for upcoming press interviews off-leash. You can train anyone to say anything; it’s all obviously not knowledge gained through experience nor passion for the issues.

Now that’s entertainment! If only ads like this were being hammered into the media 24/7.
