John McCain has made much of his reputation as a “maverick,” but, as Reason magazine’s Matt Welch lays out in this clip, McCain the Neocon has emerged as the Republican presidential nominee’s dominant political persona and the one he’ll take into the White House if he wins.

John McCain is a warmonger controlled by corporate interests. He is the front for the neocon agenda. Even when he still seemed reasonable, circa 2000, he was the most avid endorser of military intervention, for any reason, in Congress. Along with his buddy Liebermann, his first response to any international crisis was, and is, to respond with military force. He may be one of the few politicians more eager to war than Cheney; he actually believed in pre-emptive strikes prior to Iraq. McCain is no maverick,(which actually means an independent politician), but he is a war hawk with allegiance to the military industrial complex. Even Viet Nam should be worried!!!

I recall that many of these same Neocons supported McCain during the 200 primaries over Bush Jr., as the latter was seen as too moderate on foreign policy.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, on foreign policy McCain is far worse than Bush.

McCain the Neocon has emerged ......

Why,is somebody actually surprised by that ?

It should not come as such a shock, knowing that this Sarah Palin was not “his” pick to begin with.
This whole VP-pick was nothing but a marketing
scam from the outset ..choosing Palin to appeal to the disgruntled Hillary women….. as well as to those white racist conservatives for which ,according to certain Republicans, Barrack Obama was not “black enough”......for the sake of winning the election at all cost !
The “stand-in for election purposes only ” Palin is to be replaced as soon as,>or so they hope< the Repugs would have won the election…replaced by the Jew Lieberman….McCains and GOP first choice.
No longer needed,Palin would resign over night,
citing personal reasons.
The sole reason to partner Palin with McCain was not to select Condoleezza Rice, another first woman for the Republicans and by far the much more qualified person…however, the very same white racist conservatives found her just ” too black”,
according to the Republican decision makers, who more or less felt obliged.
So here we go,McCain the Neocon.
