McCain Aide: Palin Doesn’t Need to Talk to the Press

Posted on Sep 6, 2008
Carney and Wallace

According to McCain campaign strategist Nicole Wallace, it doesn’t matter if Sarah Palin talks to the press because Palin can make “her own points” in her speeches, directly to the American people, as she did in St. Paul last week. “Who cares if she can talk to Time magazine?” Wallace asks Jay Carney of, yes, Time magazine in this clip.

I talked with my sister yesterday on the phone. She and her husband live in Arizona.

Foolishly I asked my Republican sister if she was in better financial straights after the last 8 years.

ALthough she’s 72 Tuesday and worked for at least a couple years at Wall Mart, she is so indocrinated by Rebublican BS that her response was to try and paint Obama as a Muslin who refused to take the oath of office on a bible.

Also, I know she and her husband to be pretty racist.

Apparently the Republicans must figure a huge part of the American voters are total idiots for believing their covert Rovian missives.

And to further rub it in our faces, now they are saying that some speech writers (with Rove, et al oversite) will tell us what the Pitbitch is thinking.

Zeitgeist - The Movie: Federal Reserve

***Dear God! When did being an intelligent, graceful and serious Harvard graduate become a bad thing?***

The key word here is ‘intelligent’, the conservatives hate that in anyone that is not on their team, comes from the reality that HATE and GREED drive the world. If it was the other way, there probably would not be any laws, or governments or religions of this modern world, other than the elders passing on their knowledge to support the younger members.
Face it and I will keep pounding this nail even though next to nothing will be done about it: There are too many humans on this planet for the current status of political, economic, religious systems and the environment to support them. The traits of humans, often called the 7 deadly sins will insure this status. And if intelligence is to ever be put to constructive use, finding or creating a way to stop this explosion of people and not use wars and violence to reduce the population will only lead to a depopulation by wars and violence. AND, the one big true, somewhere, sometime, NATURE(some people call it god) will handle the situation.

You aren’t understanding the Palin package: it’s the same mind-numbing “reality TV” that passive, non-thinking Americans crave in our idiocracy. It’s the Alaska Snowbillies where bad parenting, family feuds, corruption, fundumbentalist religious views, minimal education, bullying and on and on are embraced and encouraged. No interviews? - no problem! Simplistic slogans instead of intelligent discussions? - no problem! No class? - no problem! Promoting a bulldog with lipstick to represent American women? - no problem! Labeling self-reliant success as elitist? - no problem! Taking away women’s ability to make decisions about their own bodies? - no problem! American Taliban? - no problem!

It worked for Dumbya for the last 8 years, why not provide more?

Dear God! When did being an intelligent, graceful and serious Harvard graduate become a bad thing?

Don’t discount the little receiver on the back like w wore in his debates with kerry. I would think that method has been perfected even more. And I still stand by my 50/50 chance of either being elected because diebold and es & s both are conservative trump cards that have won many elections for not just a president but probably more important, representatives and senators.

Those glasses of hers are only going to magnify that deer in the headlights look!!! Tell that “pitbull with lipstick to put her big girl pants on and show the country she’s not going to pick up her toys and leave when Russia is “picking on her”. Go ahead & try to keep her under wraps ReCONicans…We want to know what you’re hiding….

The truth is that the Grampie Simpleton - Wilma Flintstone run is suffering enough without this dimwitted contortionist simultaneously putting both her feet halfway down her esophagus while still wearing shoes.

I think Gramps is starting to realize the the Palin Downes baby is not the only special needs child who needs perpetual oversight and care now aboard the Straightjacket Regress.

Wow—I thought I was watching a clip from SNL at first.

I’m continually amazed at how the Republican candidates seem to be immune to the same scrutiny as the Dems.  And now they think they have the privilege to “opt out” of answering the questions from the media, which are essentially the same as what a lot of Americans would like to know.  As a candidate for public office, you don’t get to pick and choose your questions.  How blatantly “un-American” is that?

For all of us concerned about the rapid decline of the freedom of the press over the past 8 years, the wacked out comments from Ms. Wallace are ominous.

Do all you boys and girls out in TV land remember 1988? Dan Quayle made public appearances, did interviews, and went to debates. He made himself look like a blithering idiot at almost every turn.
And he won!
Never, I repeat, NEVER underestimate a regular americans capacity to empithise with a moron.
After all, enough “joe six-packs” turned out in the last two elections alone to vote for our real life version of “bonzo goes to washington.”
Let’s face it, the only difference between GW and that drunk guy at the bar that bitches incessently about child support payments and how bad the Jets will suck this year, is MONEY! Clinton did a masterful job of selling that “regular guy” bullshit, and the new dumb bought it(twice!)
We elect Reagans and clintons, and bushes because we think that regular guys won’t take advantage of us, like those smart guys Nixon and kennedy and carter did.
All gov Sarah needs to solidify her standing with “Chuck Everyman” is unbutton her shirt a little, drink a beer while watching a football game, and drop an f bomb or two. She would then be forever accepted by the dimmest of us as “just a regular gal, done good!”
In a matter of a week Mcsame has become second bananna on the ticket.
It just brings a tear to your eye to be an american, don’t it?

Palin’s performances will most likely be limited.  She has played this role previously, except the production was called Mayor of Wasilla Runs for Governor of Alaska. .  . And in case you don’t know it already, facts, figures, and policies had nothing to do with Palin getting the leading role:

libbabe writes: “I think that CNN and other TV news organization ought to refuse to televise Palin on the campaign trail until Palin is permitted to be interviewed on the talk shows.”

Great idea!!!!

And what about this:

Invite Biden on AND Palin and set up a chair for her on a real interview show.  If she’s a no-show, then you have her empty chair with her name on it to show her absence.

Or just invite Palin for her own interview.  Put a Dem in her place every time she’s a no show.

Much of the public needs to be educated by the press as to what service the press provides.  They have to be helped to understand that “canned” answers from politicians isn’t enough, and that a public that accepts a diet of prepackaged political soundbites alone is taking democracy seriously backward.

I would like to see her in an interview not surrounded by her Repugnant-can posse where she’d have to say something other than the getting-old-by-the-minute jabs from her well-rehearsed and memorized RNC speech. Although I think I can only take a few more minutes of that Fargo-meets-Ellen Burstyn voice of hers, looks like we might have to wait until she meets Joe Biden on Oct. 2nd for the VP debate…can hardly wait!

Of course, the Idea is Palin Doesn’t Need to Talk to the Press, because there is no real need or urgency for the following scenario, should they have it their way.

It has become quite obvious that the Sarah Palin VP-ticket “was brought to you” by the same slick & sleazy Republican Slime-machine that gave this
country Bush/Cheney and the rest of the NeoCon-Zionist-right wing warmongers the last time around.
Some McCain pick here ? Forget about it !
The basic Idea behind is to make this a shrewed “cheap marketing gig”, some way of fooling these same stupidly blind American Voters again.
Why? Because absurd as it may sound, this whole Palin thing is coming across as just a nicely wrapped package , designed and intended for the obvious sale…in the form of Sarah Palin,a temporarily substitute ... to the rather naive “female” public and for the sole purpose of winning this upcoming Election. Period.
Bottom Line :
Once the Election would have been won,Palin would suddenly resign over night and their, from the beginning designated, GOP and McCain`s #1 VP-choice
Joe"The Scum Traitor"Lieberman would replace her at once !

You think this is absolutely nuts and completely crazy .... don`t be surprised or shocked ...... always remember:you are dealing with the evil empire that gave us Bush/Cheney ! !

The media unjustly attacked Sarah Palin through her family using unsubstantiated lies and innuendo, and no one defended her. That’s understandable because the left-wing media attacks conservatives just as a matter of course, and any legitimate objective journalist (of which there are very few) would withhold open support and defense of her BECAUSE of their objectiveness. So, there is no support or defense of her at all in the media - there’s not even any semblance of giving her the benefit of any doubt. Many internet postings merely reflect last week’s media attacks as well. So, the only one who can defend Sarah Palin is herself and the McCain campaign.
It’s no wonder to me at all why she is hesitant to be interviewed by the media. Judging from the media bias, it stands to reason that an objective interview would be hard to come by for Sarah Palin, simply because of her political and social viewpoints.
One would think that a sense of fair play would be found on some web sites, but many in the media are not any different than many of the posters here - the media are just more “sophisticated” about how they twist comments and fabricate opinion.

The Repugs with their uppiddy remarks about ‘community organizing’ don’t truly understand what is happening at a grass-roots level.  Change has already begun and will continue but not as they predict.

IF YOU FIND ANYTHING about McCain and his side-kick that the MEDIA hasn’t shared with ‘the people’ - it is your duty as an intelligent political blogger to share this with EVERYONE…on blogs, via email.  Get the word out and share the facts.

Did you know that Palin (maiden name - Heath) is the ‘Heir of one of the largest candy fortunes’ in America?  Now it makes perfect sense why John-boy made his selection.

Wonder how all of those redneck yahoos from all of the red states will feel when Ms. Phony Soccer Mom REALLY does not have ONE THING in common with any of them afterall!!!

If you are living pay check to pay check and wonder how you are going to retire, THINK about what type of People/Party you KNOW will change things because they are ‘for you’ and not all about themselves.

Wake-Up…for the sake of the next generation!!!

This is stunning.  It is an in-your-face slap down of just about everything America stands for, with absolutely no shame .. and worse, apparently no comprehension whatsoever of what she is saying.

If America does not recognize what it is seeing in Palin, and in the entire McCain campaign (McCain himself appears to have no meaningful input now), we’re in deep, deep trouble.

She accepted the V.P. nomination which is a national position. Since when do the candidates dictate whether or not they want to be interviewed?
In the past, all candidates wanted to be heard, seen and interviewed.  Suddenly, she’s a “No-Show” and this is okay?!  Why?

The Republicans are scam-artists beginning with the V.P. smoke-screen candidate that was selected.
However, the one aspect that the Repugs are forgetting about are the millions of people who can go on-line and determine for themselves exactly what type of person she is - by reading and sharing information with others.

Actions speak louder than words…..especially no action on her part.
Everyone knows that her speech was a classless theatrical performance at best and her attempt (or rather the screen-writers)to roast Obama with snide, rude remarks tossing in a few well-positioned lies about her political career.
She blatantly spewed lies with a smile and the only way “we” find the truth is digging it ourselves.
The Media is so afraid of the Repugs that its starting to get really annoying.

The other obvious fact is that “she accepted” this gig and did so fully knowing that her daughter was pregnant (and at age 16 - 5 months later, 17).
In the USA, “Teen-Age Pregnancy” is out of control and since this is “her” strong platform, it is OUTRAGEOUS.

Why would anyone in this country want this woman in our White House when she can never be the ‘Role Model’ young women are seeking because she only believes in one way.

God did not appoint the Republican Party the Judge and Ruler of our country.

Knowledge is power.

A concept that evidently the Republicans don’t believe in because they certainly don’t want anyone learning anything new or better when it comes to sex, educating teens about sexually transmitted diseases, or how to be personal responsible.

She doesn’t have anything important to say herself and in an interview, you can’t read what the McPuppet show wants her to say.

But the American people do want to ask questions and we want the press to ask questions, Ms. Wallace.  As I’m sure you know, “taking the stage” is essentially a performance by a candidate, it’s not a dialogue.  We only hear what the candidate and their stage managers want us to hear, which is clearly not a very effective way for a citizen of the U.S. to elect our representatives.

I think that CNN and other TV news organization ought to refuse to televise McCain and Palin on the campaign trail until Palin is permitted to be interviewed on the talk shows. The only thing we see of her is the same mindless, canned pep speech for McCain, the result of which is free airtime on their terms with no substantial information about her opinions and knowledge.
