Palin Goes on the Offensive

Palin

Sarah Palin has been a one-woman soap opera the last few days, so when she strolled out onto that RNC stage Wednesday night without dragging a baby or a caribou carcass, she was already ahead of the game. Then she showed that she could handle the spotlight, casting herself as a small-town victim of the big-city media and relentlessly attacking Barack Obama.

Media circuses aside, Palin emerged Wednesday night as a legitimate threat to the dream of a Democratic White House. How she handles a debate or an interview, we’ll have to wait and see, but the narrative is there.

“Lets see , she has an 80% approval rating from her state. Governor of Illinois has an 8% rating, IL. also has the highest murder rate in the country, where has Obama been?”

All this unprovoked criticism of Blogo’s Illinois would matter if Obama’s running mate was Governor Rod Blogoiovich. But, Obama is running with Senator Joe Biden, an accomplished MILF opponent from the great commonwealth of Delaware, for whom you SaraCuda supporting crackpots have absolutely nothing. Admit it, this mooseberger is such toast that you pissed ReThugs have to viciously attack all the Dems you can kick, espcially the ones who are down. Come on! It’s bad enough you dicks are voting with your dicks for the northern tundra’s premiere anti-Hillary hoochie. These mindless histrionics only make you look like bigger pathetic losers voting against your own best interests. Let it go!

Say what you will about all the madness and drama going on in the embattled Land of Lincoln, Blogo has still managed to help many Illinois citizens through generously funding the sort of programs Palin has line-item vetoed from the Alaska state budget. Blogo can be credited with bringing more private sector jobs to Illinois than currently exist in Alaska. Blogo has extensive foreign policy experience and has actually been deployed by the US Dept of State as a hostage negotiator and diplomatic arbitrator before he was Gov. Best of all for Illinois, the state programs Blogo refuses to cut just to appease Springfield pork-ateers have granted millions of children FREE healthcare, elders subsidized healthcare and free unlimited public transportation privileges, financial assistance and free prenatal care to inpoverished pregnant teens, mentoring programs for unwed teen fathers, and special financial assistance programs to subsidize healthcare and lifecare for parents of special needs children and the caregivers of special needs adults.

The truth is these slanted polls don’t reflect how Illinoisans feel about Blogo as much as how voters feel about the disruptive chicanery currently gumming up the works in Springfield. As low as Blogo’s approval rating is right now, with a little work, he could still easily win re-election in Illinois. Caribou Barbie, however, can’t make that claim in her dreams. When she and Gramps are finally fork-infested done in November, she’s more likely to find all her crap boxed up on the governor’s mansion lawn as the career ending result of the Alaska State Police investigation into her prosecutable abuses of power. Say what you want about Governor Blogo of embattled Illinois, that tiny Illinois 8% said to still love Blogo are at least a thousand-fold more numerous per capita than that 80% who approve of the Godzilla who savaged Wasilla, whose only identifiable accomplishment has been to put the ass into Alaska’s most recent embarrassing assininities.

Someone here suggested that Palin is like Spiro Agnew.  She is like Agnew as an attack dog, but she is even more like Dan Quale in her lack of experience.  Nixon allowed Agnew to face the press on his own from day one.  McCain is not letting the press anywhere near Palin yet.  She is not ready to face the press but she’s ready to be VP of the US??
Dan Quale needed a lot of tutoring before they would let the press at him and even then he couldn’t handle it.

Like a hot burning fire, she too shall burn out quickly.

McCain’s job resume for VP: Former beauty contestant? You’re hired.

I watched her speech only to get a look at that kid who is may be her future son-in-law. He should be afraid, very afraid. Besides he already says he does not want any babies. Bet that sets real well with Sarah. If they do get married, maybe mom and dad can pull some strings and get him a job with big oil.

Palin pulled in 37.2 million viewers across broadcast and cable networks, according to Nielsen Media Research.

That’s 55% higher than Day 3 of the DNC, when her Democratic counterpart, Joe Biden, and President Clinton took the stage (24 million).

It’s also up a sharp 99% from the Republican convention’s third day in 2004 (18.7 million) and easily bests the numbers viewers attracted by George W. Bush when he accepted the nomination (27.6 million). In fact, it came close to upsetting Obama’s historic address last Thursday—the most-watched convention speech in history (38.4 million viewers).

Palin’s viewership is up 73% from Tuesday’s RNC tally, when 21.5 million tuned in to see President Bush and independent Sen. Joe Lieberman endorse nominee John McCain. The event also drew more female viewers than Hillary Clinton’s speech last week.

Also 39% thinks she is more qualified that OB to be president. She beat out your dullard of a veep by over 10 mil, then to make sure that people don’t watch McCain, B. Hussein Obama, finally agrees to a sit down with Bill O’reilly, just to get people not to watch the convention. Ob is a puss, I’ll talk to Bill only if I can choose the questions and he isn’t too hard on me.He is a wuss,no teleprompters here.

Okay so what if you are one of the realists who is not naive enough to think the United States is a democracy?  And know it is a money market driven one ring circus and it isn’t even a gamble since we aren’t dealt any cards?

thebeerdoctor what do you mean by shotgun?  It is a metaphor and not a real bit of advice.  It is not that I don’t agree with you, because I think you are onto a good perception regarding the voting slime in Ohio.  It is time for Obama to take some of those millions of dollars he is attracting and put them to voter machine watching in Ohio and Florida and anywhere else where the vote is going to be stolen as it was for two past presidential elections!

The news media is a sorry set.  Just even trying to watch the supposedly objective PBS The News Hour almost makes one puke.  Last evening for instance, in the analysis of what the strengths are for the Republican party (of course they did not ever mention the weaknesses) they had a couple of Republican partisans who had nothing but platitudes and no Democrat to counter anything negative that was said about Obama.  A lot of horsesh*t.  They have that excruciatingly dull reporter, Judy Woodruff who practically bows and kisses ring before every Republican guest.  Unbelievable.  They do allow Mark Shields to make some decent comments about the Democrats.  Then the two polls analysts keep saying how far behind McCain is and they are summarily dismissed.  Hysterical.

But back to Palin the Vacant.  If there are any Republicans out there who wouldn’t be concerned if a Putin or Kim Yong-nam, could look at this screeching mimi across a negotiating table and not laugh their heads off while they give the US the finger then the Republicans are completely with their heads up their collective arse.  And those two Clintonistas who will vote for McCain because of why?  Because he put a woman on his ticket?  What idiots who have no political principles.  Besides I have friends whose wives are Republicans and are aghast that this nationally unseasoned bimbo was put on the ballot and likewise they have no political principles either and will vote for Obama!  So you know, ya lose some ya win some and Life Happens.

Watch the documentary movie Uncounted to know what it is like in the state of Ohio. The 2004 election was stolen here. The 2006 election was tampered with so that the democrats could not receive the mandate they actually had. Look around you. Look at the new voting requirements in the state of Indiana. In such rotten circumstances, voting becomes the cruelest joke of all.
Population control is at the heart of it all. It is not surprising that are well paid hacks in the news media are now speaking of the Sarah Palin phenomena. Why wouldn’t they? They all know where their bread is buttered.
What a cozy, mean system! How completely developed! The so called political experts are little more than race track touts, calling the shots on the most attractive shills for the total corporate state.
You are not so naive as to believe you live in a democracy? Its a money market pal, and you don’t have the scratch to ante into the game.
Remember: if you going to hold up a poker game, you need a shotgun. You can’t use a cap pistol. A shotgun. Anything else is not professional.

“...Palin was terrific.  She nailed it and the base she’s meant to attract loved her!  The dems now have a formidable opponent and had better pay attention.”—Fahrenheit 451

BWAAHAHAHAHA!

Oh, stop! ....her base loved her. Of course they did. Still, though, American voters aren’t that collectively ready to abandon the Nation’s rational mind to put that green-horned moron’s finger that ungodly close to the lit red button on Cheney’s desk. C’mon! Get a good whiff of that uncut ammonia and snap out of it, pal!

Palin did precious little to snatch Grampers’ unelectable fat from the fires of unemployment and subsequent obscurity. Face it, Palin isn’t the viable GOP Hill-bot everyone wants to pretend she is. In the real world, Palin isn’t fit to hold Hillary’s purse at Sears. All Palin did last night was prove she can read the teleprompter better than Chimperor Dumya the Dyslexic. Come on! She riled up a room full of hicks like those from her future redneck-in-law’s hometown of Malamut Cockles, Alaska, that radically reactionary religio-fascist demographic in front of whom she has a lot of experience reading a lively teleprompter. She’s a former psuedo-Faux Noise babe from some tiny TV broadcast booth in the Juneau back woods. Beyond that, nothing SaraCuda Palin said or did last night while ruthlessly and vulgarly exploiting her womanhood and her own family gave the Old Squirrel - Young Mooseburger run a real boost in the polls. Actually, in several polls, MILF and Grampers saw the doo-doo skids of a significant downward drift. Bookmakers globally maintain that some poignant October Surprise is going to upend this obtuse GOP comedy of senior moment induced errors long before Halloween. Meanwhile the Vegas odds are high over the rumor that the RNC is going to go over Team Grampers’ heads to dump Palin off the GOP Ticket to add Magic Drawers the Mormon, no matter how much Gramps’ 96-year old mom hates Mitt. Palin brings way too much politically cumbersome luggage aboard the Straightjacket Regress, even for a pampered beauty-contestant-new-mom of a special needs newborn stowing a husband and four other kids, one of which is preggers.

Palin is only on this ticket until the Alaska State Police completes its investigation and perp-walks her off the Straightjacket Regress scenicruiser in cuffs, reading her the Miranda.  If all that ain’t the devil’s purse, it seems that every single day something new and more damaging to Gramps’ campaign comes out about Palin. Sara Louise Heath Palin is about to go down in lexicon of human infamy as the most tragic definition of a true campaign deficit known to any election campaign in the history of human government. When the sun finally sets in November on the so-finished McCain-Palin run, those two idiots will need the next four years just to pull all the forks out of their backs.

“In a world of swine, only pigs are upward mobile.”

Hunter Thompson wrote those words in one of his final books, then blew his brains out after the slack-jawed american electorate re-uped king George for four more years of flag sucking, gun waving, good times.
Ah, 2004. Will that be the year america’s epitath was composed? Only time will tell(another four years ought to do it)
I think I may have figured out why Mccain is still in this race and why gov Sarah from podunk is all of the sudden an exceptable VP candidate. My epiphany began as I watched CNN yesterday morning, and witnessed a stunning, but telling, piece of americana. The morning girl, Kiran Chetry(who is incredibly hot, by the way. See, I’m a sucker too!) interveiwed two former Hillary supporters who were now voting for Mccain because he nominated a woman VP. Kiran attempted to bring up the differences between gov Sarah and Hillary’s views on social issues in particular. The two women would hear non of it! They were now supporting Mccain soley on the basis that he nominated a woman. Kiran seemed dumbfounded(but still hot)and sent it over to the idiot John Roberts, who was busy tossing softballs up to facist political pundits.
My point is that we should never underestimate americans capacity for pettyness and stupidity. Too many of us are distracted by blinking lights and pretty colors. The fact that our populace is the least educated in the industrialized world explains alot about what happens here on election days.
We have run out of ammo, and feet to shoot. But Sarah says she has all the ammo we need!
And she’s pretty, too!
Fahrenheit, do you have any more of that medicine you prescibed for beerdoc, I think I just had a stroke!
Why won’t Kiran return my calls?

Palin wants us to believe she’s just another one of us, you know, average people. This woman is a good actress and can read a script. Reagan was that type too but he didn’t have a brain in his head. Palin doesn’t have a brain in her head if she thinks that a large number of people will believe that we have a lot in common with her.

Palin started out on the PTA to get her name around then followed up as a councilwoman. Next she became a mayor and then governor. She cherishes her role as a VP candidate and possible president. This career track sounds like a real politician, not a common, ordinary woman from Podunk, USA. ‘Little old me’ won’t do it. She is a politician first and foremost.

Sure she has a son going to Iraq (‘a war ordained by God’) but do you think he will be anywhere that might put his life on the line? No way, especially since the enemy would love to get their hands on the son of a VP candidate.

There’s no evidence at all that a VP candidate effects the final outcome of the election either way.  Cheney’s negativity rating was so high last time around (about 65-30-10 negative) that there was speculation that he’d be dropped from the ticket.  The best that can be expected is that he or she will help to carry his/her home state and sometimes they don’t even do that.  The last time a VP candidate really made a difference on the outcome was in 1960 when Johnson carried Texas for Kennedy.  Only some of the republican base who were going to sit this one out will be moved to vote for McCain because Palin is on the ticket.  Being able to field dress a caribou, birth your own babies and cut umbilical cords with your teeth are not qualificaions which are likely to influence independent voters though they are prized by the rabid right as most worthy.
Republicans have no issues and so they fell back on attacking the corporate media which for nearly eight years has accepted talking points from the White House, and gave Bush a pass on the lead up to war in Iraq, illegal wire tapping, torture, etc.
Most of the talk I’ve heard both before and after the speech, is that she’s a nice lady but no way in hell qualified to lead the country.

Gov. Sarah Palin is a big, fat, Republican liar, just like President Bush. Nothing Gov. Palin says can be believed. She says she is for lower taxes and lower spending, not so, while mayor of Wasilla, AK, property taxes and spending went ski high and Wasilla was deep in debt when she left office. Gov. Palin says she was against the “bridge to nowhere,” not so, she campaigned for governor on getting this bridge and took the money. Gov. Palin says she is against congressional earmarks, not so, while mayor and governor she worked with indicted Sen. Ted Stevens and the lobbyist connected to the convicted Jack Abramoff to get earmarks worth $27 millions dollars. Gov. Palin comes out of a politically corrupt oil state and regardless of what she says that stinking corruption is all over her. Gov. Palin is a scheming, deceitful, lying snake in the grass who will do and say anything to advance her Republican political career. For good government, vote Democratic, vote Barack Obama for president.

Thank You Doctor Fahrenheit (physician heal thyself) and yes it will get worse. Max Blumnethal’s account of McCain’s decision to choose the Governor of Alaska, is more than likely, an accurate account of how McCain, lacking the muscle of the Bush crime family, needed to completely throw in with the right wing Christian extremists. To appease that powerful moneyed faction, he had to select the moose meat eating hockey mom from Alaska.
And yes I am calm. As calm as a musician on the band that continued to play music on the Titanic. Yes, Sierra Nevada is a fine prescription choice (although I do not drink and blog). Bring on the debates. It’s one thing to run from the “liberal media” who want to know about Troopergate, AIP, and all the other scandals surrounding her, it’s another to get into the ring with Biden and try to come off as vetted, seasoned and competent enough to be VP. Cries of sexism and feigned outrage won’t be enough to cover for the lack of experience in the areas intelligent Americans require in their choice of VP. She may be enough to take the heat off McCain for awhile, but when it comes to proving her mettle, that dog don’t hunt.

The emotional gut bucket: there is no issue for that. After the Governor of Alaska’s screed, did anyone notice the enthusiastic response among women? Pro choice women, like the one who said: “I have 3 children, and when she talked about being a mom, I connected with that.”
Add to all this, the idiotic cheerleading news media. Never mind that she doesn’t want certain books allowed in schools. Never mind that the birth control that would be allowed in her dim vision of the universe is abstinence, and that is all. Never mind that she wants the polar bear removed the endangered species list. Never mind that she actually believe the occupation of Iraq is about winning a war.
And she tells those parents with “special needs” children (or should that be childr’n?) that they will have a friend in the new McCain administration.
Every damn emotional screw was being turned last night, and those assembled bought it, hook line and sinker.
Those who have no desire to see these clowns seated, better pray that the National Enquirer, or Larry Flynt, or somebody, will dig up enough dirt to get this lunatic thrown to the curb.
This campaign is not about issues. The Republican Party are masters at appealing to the basest instincts of the electorate. Governor Palin’s insult of community organizers? Hey, Ralph Nader, even you should come to Barack Obama’s defense on this.

Was GWB cheering for this really insipient bauble head with an absence of experience of world affairs who saccharinely and smilingly insulted the Washington elite?  Isn’t it interesting that they are allowing McCain’s anti-establishment flavor to put a pall over the gang of thugs in Washington and admit GWBush was the worst president this country ever had and McCain promises the same kind of devastating garbage?  Let’s do let a woman who has no experience at national politics let alone world politics become the Vice President of the United States (who really cares if her teenage daughter is premaritally pregnant?  30 percent of all pregnancies were to unwed mothers (and unwed fathers) last year, see Urban Institute report.  It is only important if you are not an evangelical phoney, right?)

The hypocrite Republicans only care about morals when they are prostituting them to put a holier than thou blush to their own blatant immoral behaviors.  Morals discussion is a dead issue (it’s called an abortion in some circles).  Oh well, maybe that is a good thing.

There had better be some striking counterattacks coming from the Democratic campaign soon and relentlessly to get the absolute stupid media from saying things like the Seattle Times calling Palin the “feisty slammer.”  With that resonant voice of hers she will take command of the Middle East, right?  Or what is it exactly that VPs do?  The media is going to make or break Obama.

Told yah!
“small town, PTA, hocky mom”...exactly why they chose her and the democracts should have seen this coming, but so drunk on having “the sure thing”, you walked right into the trap. Jon Stewart, Bill Maher, and Huffpo have exposed their sexists, crude, and down right disgust for “ORDINARY AMERICANS”...These GOP strategists have baited the left/democracts and actually exposed why the democracts don’t win elections! The sad thing is that Obama rised above these attacks but the left/democracts are determined. Oh I nearly forgot…Daily Kos…a reliable source. What a joke!

You know what; you can analyze the holy crap out of this, but it’s not intellectual, it’s emotional.  As pathetic as that sounds, it’s the real deal.  That’s how the majority of voters are going to pick their candidate.

Oh, surely, after the last 8 years, you need to ask that question?  There is no bottom to the neo-con low.  You know this.

I hate to admit it, and the dems better take notice, Palin was terrific.  She nailed it and the base she’s meant to attract loved her!  The dems now have a formidable opponent and had better pay attention.  This could be a flash-in-the-pan, but, if not; the republican attack machine has a new weapon…a lipstick wearing female pit bull.  DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE REPUBLICAN MACHINE…PLEASE!!!!

They did not let her go into any issues last night; just introduce the family and attack Obama.  But pitbulls??  Forget pitbulls.  What’s the difference between Karl Rove and Sarah Palin?  Lipstick.  She’s Karl Rove with lipstick.

Why does this bespectacled pinhead keep attacking Obama when it’s going to be Joe Biden who reduces her to bitter tears at the VEEP debate? Does she not realize that Kid Obama is going to thrash her Granddad? She’s not the Obama counterpart. At no time is she ever going to meet Obama on the Presidential debate circuit, save in the dementia of Faux Noise punditry. She’s going to face off horribly against Biden, a brutal pulverization of a dumbbell I personally can’t wait to see. Now, I realize this twit hasn’t a clue about what the Vice Presidency is. But, come on, rationally, shouldn’t she be focusing on she matches up against Joe’s rough edges, if she and her hapless surrogates can isolate one such edge to any-what manipulate? After all, no matter what that witch Schafley told her, Joe Biden ain’t gonna be an easy feather for the likes of this green horn to put on her camouphlage cap, unless she plans to lean out of chopper and pick Biden off the way she did those defenseless wolf cubs.

And, what’s with the recycled Miss Alaska speech used by this soon to be two-time runner up? I all but expected her to impress the reich by closing her “What I Would Do As Mrs. America, er, uh, Your Vice President” speech with an arousing rendition of Yankee Doodle Dandy on her flute. All Palin did last night was exploit every single thing about herself that differentiated her from Hillary Clinton that Phyliss Schafley and Laura Ingram could come up with while beating those Nazi talking points to death. PERIOD! And, in case those idiot ReThickheadednutjobs are still refusing to read the recent memoes, news flash - Hillary is not running for anything until 2010, a point in time at which the world will still be pissing itself laughing at the Grampers - Caribou Barbie 2008 Tciket. This red-state spectacle was an insult to the national intelligence. I live with the consolation that Maverick and his poorly vetted Moose Burger aren’t going to be able to outrun that fork about to be stuck into them too much longer. She’s slow and he’s old.

The political circus has become the ultimate live TV show.  This elephant and donkey show of ill repute. From the larger truths of the reverend Wright being squashed and dropped like a hot Elephant turd by Obama.  Now we have the evangelical wolf killer who’s church which suggests everyone who does not agree with her political agenda is going to hell.  Embraced by the media, and a public, blinded by propaganda this, demented deology lapped up like beer at one of Bushes famous drunk fests.  Family planning is a no, no and forget birth control, this is something that should be banned from schools. Science replaced by delusions, something called faith,  based on hand me down stories.  Seeing the hand writing on the wall,  people of reason will be forced to accept evangelical thoughtlessness according to talaban rules or join the ranks of the polar bear.

It is absolutely remarkable how the Republican attack engine operates. Take this business of the Governor of Alaska. Nearly unknown in national politics until less than a week ago, she became gossip’s hottest topic, with her strange pregnancy story, her teenage daughter, the “redneck” hockey boy friend, and the domestic “issues” (don’t you just love that overused word?) concerning her sister’s ex-husband, a state trooper.
There are plenty of gauche details. Wasn’t that John McCain greeting the Palin family on the tarmac? Wasn’t that Levi Johnston standing beside Bristol? The GOP department of misinformation was in full gear here. The damn liberal elitist press was trying to destroy this good woman and her family, they said. It is sexism, they said, pure and simple.
News flash to the pit bull with lipstick: your verbal ridicule of Senator Obama and Senator Biden, proves you deserve no break when it comes to the blood sport called politics. Your speech at the convention (what Obama campaign’s David Axelrod described as being done with snide efficiency) reveals a new skin for the media player known as decrepit cynicism. Using your down syndrome baby as a campaign prop, reveals the kind of craven depths this behavior can sink to.

I thought Sarah Palin’s speech was mean-spirited and frankly adolescent with the mocking sacrasm, especially of Senator Obama’s work as a community organizer.  And I wonder, is this what we want for Vice-President or more importanlty for President?  Can we imagine her talking this way to world leaders?  And what is more, this was a issueless speech with some nice stuff about her family and so on, but nothing about the problems that confront our nation, about the two wars, degradation of the envirionment, economic crisis, lost of prestige around the world, crumbling infrastructure, partisan bickering and paralysis, rising crime, deficits and the debt, and on and on.  Little or none on even acknowleding the problems, let alone, in providing ideas of how to solve them.  It is hard for me to believe that any thinking person who cares about our country would be favorably moved by this speech.

Sarah Palin is somewhat of a dream come true for the right-wing in American politics. For years they’ve been searching for someone that merged the ‘qualities’ of Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan, and in Palin they may have finally succeeded. Heaven help us all!

But it’s probably worse than that, far more dangerous and disturbing. If one examines her politics one finds a person who has close ideological affiliations with a heady and explosive mix of both religious and political extremism.

Too cut to the bone, she represents something a mere hair’s breadth from Amercian, religious, Fascism; and that someone with that kind of background and views should move so close to ultimate political power should make one more than wary, one should be frightened, and hopefully energized and mobilized into resistance.
