The ailing senator from Massachusetts brought many Democrats to tears in Denver with a surprise speech at his party’s convention, during which he promised to lead the fight in the Senate to finally pass a form of universal health care.

The reason is that they did not believe in crushing the weak to make money.  And they also put a stop to some of their rackets.  A Republican without a racket is in danger of having to work like a slave.

I read the Kennedy went to Denver to give a speech “after suffering a debilitating bout of kidney stones Sunday” on top of his other grave illness.

I’ve had em’…
if you’ve never had kidney stones, you are clueless to the unending seering intense pain involved..... it will give you a some understanding of what it is like for some folks who live with pain on a daily basis.

.. agree with Ted’s politics, lifestyle or not, but it takes a dedicated man to travel to Denver with a bout of kidney stones.

Rightwing, I am not a member of the Teddy admiration society, but my comment stands about his making a statement at a time and age when he is gravely ill. As far as leaving his sick wife for a hotter woman, I think John McCain is the guy who wrote the book on that for us, and after leaving hooking up with his hotter, richer second wife while still married to his first wife because she no longer had those swimsuit model looks after a car accident left her a near cripple, he has pretty much followed the ‘dump, marry up’ paradigm to the letter; now he freely, on the record refers to his second sugar momma as a ‘cunt’.
Ted Kennedy, who will be gone by the general election, has a life of alcohol problems, women, and a death coverup in his wake, but he isn’t the guy who wants the presidency of the US. Aside from McCain’s obvious issues with dementia, I think he has a scabrous personality behind his mumbling, fuddy-duddy act and after 8 years of a paranoid demogogue we need better.

So what.  I don’t look to any crooks for moral leadership.  Republicans are sociopaths who don’t have a clue.  They are bogus in every way imaginable.  Every trick they pull is really just for kicks.

Ted is a liar, a killer, cheater, all around dunce, drunk enabler, he left his wife who was sick for a hotter woman, cheated on her many times, he was the joke of the family, well his family was the joke.

It’s not over until the crooks start to sing.  And I want them to keep singing in every school or other gathering place in the land.  I want Americans to learn what a crook, sucker, and a slave really is.

Couldn’t you just see Teddy smacking the Torch out of the Clintons hands!?!
It was never Passed to them by the Kennedy’s, and it was never reliquished to them by US.
Oh to have been a fly on the wall where HillyBilly were standing!
THANKS TEDDY- Your clarification as to what Democrats really stand for was a god send! labor and Equal rights & opportunities. Not Corporate profits and interests!!
Bye Bye DLC, Your reign of terror and treason is over!

It’s really depressing to realize just how susceptible all of us are to propaganda.  Ted Kennedy has shown courage for all of us to see since his near death crash in the early 60’s.  His back was broken along with many other injuries.  He has pushed to reduce the suffering of millions, with no reward to him since his time in the senate.  But because of the slanders, innuendo and slings and arrows of his opponents, those opposing his healthcare intiatives, for all of us, his help to the aged, etc. the filthy rich b--tards continue to personallly attack him, as they do all the representatives that try to do for the people, and only are willing to give him respect when anything else just looks like what it is.  This one man has done more for the common man in America than all the Reaganites that ever existed.  Long live the Kennedys, so long as they follow his lead.

My only cause in life is to help dumb Americans start getting some smarts.  Maybe smarts ARE the real purpose in life.  Ted was one of the few guard dogs left after Reagan and the Republicans poisoned or kenneled the rest.

I was quite choked up when I watched him speak last night. The man has a quality to him and the way he speaks which is awe-inspiring. May he and his family be well during this excruciating malady Teddy has been diagnosed with. Be well and be true!

For all of his many faults and his checkered personal history, Kennedy gets props from me for even being up there. He is dying. His physicians have done their HIPPA homework well and nowhere on the web is the grade of his Malignant Glioma published, but rest assured, even in a man 30 years younger, this disease would end life within 12 to 18 months of diagnosis with optimum treatment and a grade III mass (a grade IV tumor or a glioblastoma would probably have claimed him by now). I have been no admirer of this man over the years, but when I see him able to stand this firm in the face of The Reaper, regardless of what he says or why, I grudgingly admit that I admire his courage.
