nrobi: Let’s put this story in context. Two superpowers, neither of which have a good record when it comes to imperialist policies, are playing chess with the people in this region. They are BOTH playing this game - never forget that! The “game” started many years ago, and has turned belligerent after 8 years of a cowboy-from-Connecticut idiot as president conducting next to no diplomacy with Russia. If this thing gets out of hand 9-1-01 will look like a party. Let’s not exacerbate emotions by playing into one or the other’s bad behavior.

Believe it or not, even the Fox News Crews are not immune from the effects of war and demonstrations.
I personally, saw a Fox 39 news crew get sprayed in the face with CS gas at the coronation of King George II, the second time.
This BBC News crew whomever they were have put their lives in danger, for a story, that continues to unfold and if caught by the Russians might be summarily executed for telling the truth.
What surprises me most about this story, is the fact that the Russian pilot deliberately targeted these journalists while in the position of completing their assignment. Maybe the Russians do not want the world to know that they have at heart “a greater Soviet Union.”  One built, not upon the Communist ideal, but the oligarchic and despotic rule of “Premier Vladimir Putin.”
Mr. Putin, and the Russian military have at heart the natural resources that are in Georgia, and the expansion of the empire of Russia. Which no doubt will need the land for more and more settlers.
Should this war against a sovereign nation continue, then there would needs be a response of some kind by the international community. The response commensurate with the validity and harshness of the Russian invasion.
But one thing is clear, we do need journalists on the ground to report the Russian’s atrocities and their war crimes and crimes against humanity. Just as we need those brave men and women, who have contributed to the knowledge base of Americans regarding the illegal and immoral American, Iraqi invasion.
