Members of the San Diego-area Minutemen and other anti-immigration groups voiced their displeasure with Barack Obama’s stance on the issue outside the National Council of La Raza convention in San Diego on Sunday. Obama’s rival, John McCain, didn’t fare much better with the Minutemen and their associates.

Another thought about immigration!

Doesn’t everyone in the world know that the United States is a nation of immigrants?! And the American immigrants are two types: (1) The early white Europeans marauders occupiers, mistakenly called pioneers or pilgrims, who came to violently dispossess the Native Americans and eventually annihilate them, reducing the few survivors to lives of poverty and misery in what is known “Indian Reservations.”

(2) Then there were the later comers immigrants, who came peacefully seeking opportunities for their livelihoods in a land that got the reputation of being rich in natural resources, and hence opportunities. They didn’t have to kill anyone from among the natives or the other early immigrants to make space for themselves. For them, it was a land of the One God ,in which ambitious and hard working individuals could always find opportunities to live and let live! In my own way of liberal and progressive thinking, the later waves of immigrants are better, for they helped balance the image of the earlier ones as savage marauders occupiers!

And now to my final point: I guess, the Mexican immigrants, legal or not, do belong to the second group. They are, through my personal experience, hard workers who do the tough and so-called menial jobs that white Americans refuse to do! So in light of this, they deserve to stay and be part of this colorful human mosaic! So I consider the so-called Minutesmen as racist bigots, enemies of tolerance, progress and human-rights; and thus they are my personal enemies!

Is the Minuteman a polished name for the KKK?! I googled the name and found the following interesting information about Arnold Achwarzegger supporting them. Do Hispanics in California know that?
============================================
On April 28, 2005, California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger praised the Minuteman Project during an interview on “The John and Ken Show” on Los Angeles radio station KFI, saying that the group had been doing “a terrific job”.[13] He reiterated his supportive comments the following day, noting that the Minutemen would be welcome to patrol the border between California and Mexico.

Other supporters have included the Council of Conservative Citizens, national radio hosts Sean Hannity and Michael Savage, politicians from both political parties, Tennessee radio host James Edwards and Virginia activist Mark Hopkins.
