There are many people in the Obama campaign who value the Constitution. What we should be doing is adding our voice to theirs within the Obama campaign. He is still our man. He is the best we can do. The alternative is McCain, there is no other.

I was raised to believe and do believe THAT A MAN IS ONLY AS GOOD AS HIS WORD. OBAMA said in January that he would FILIBUSTER any bill on FISA that gave immunity to Telecommunications Companies and did not Protect OUR CIVIL RIGHTS.
Now he has a different story. What does he sell us our on next?? This FISA goes to the CORE of the 4th amendment and our civil rights that he has so easily given up on.
Now that is what is SO F***ING SAD SAD SAD.

The idea that Obama has to run as a “centrist” is the opposite of Change We Can Believe In.  There is no proof that opposing telecom immunity and requiring the courts to approve (retroactively) spying on Americans will lose any support for Obama or any Democrat running in 08.  It just ain’t so.  So why is he and why are the Democratic leaders throwing the 4th Amendment and the rights of citizens overboard?  It can only be because of pressure from the very same interests we are being told will not be tolerated in an Obama administration.  Sad Sad Sad.

“Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don’t fall out of the sky. They don’t pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It’s what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain’t going to do any good; you’re just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it’s not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here… like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There’s a nice campaign slogan for somebody: ‘The Public Sucks. Fuck Hope.’”

News flash, Tony: no one cares about the Constitution or civil liberties any more.

I suggest moving to a free country, and watch from a safe distance America’s inexorable descent into totalitarianism and fascism.

Nothing will stop it.

The ACLU is screaming bloody murder about this and well they should. Anybody who cares about the Constitution and civil liberties should be contacting the Obama campaign and expressing outrage.
