Olbermann Not Coveting Russert’s Chair, Thank You Very MuchPosted on Jun 20, 2008
After his rather startling Rupert-Murdoch-as-evil-pirate impression, Keith Olbermann takes a moment in this clip to fire back at a report, printed Friday in the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column, that he’s angling for the late Tim Russert’s job as anchor of “Meet the Press.” Regardless of whether there’s truth behind the rumors, it’s apparent that Olbermann has a very rosy view of how entertainment agents operate.

Olbermann is such a fearless journalist indeed. He says his opinion, has a guest come on who completely agrees with his opinion, and then moves on to the next segment to repeat the same process. I have never seen him disagree with one of his guests, question someone ferociously, or allow himself to be questioned or debated. He is a shallow, egotistical, and stupid little man, who shouldn’t be anywhere near any anchor desk.

Re:Keith Olbermann for Tim Russert’s Chair…
I think that Keith can do it and probably a better job than Russert. But because he is well known to be a straight shooter,I do not think the people who run
General Electric and NBC would give it to him. They do not like straight shooters too much. They may put up with their honest shooting but they just do not like them. They are the losers, not Keith Olbermann.I love his show"Countdown”.I watch it everyday and I make a point not to miss it.To me,he certainly speaks my mind.
Although I do wish him the best of success in his field,I hope that he stays anchoring “Countdown” for
Report thismy own selfish enjoyment,to continue seeing him and
enjoy hearing his straight and sensible talk every
night. He is certainly the extreme opposite of that
most arrogent and disgusting guy called Bill O’Reily
at FauxNews.Perhaps, that is why I like Keith so much.

Keith Olbermann is the best thing to have happened to TV journalism in many years: someone who discards the banal niceties of polite reason to engage the fanatical, screeching, right wing with a taste of their own bitter medicine. As a moderator of other people’s opinions, his unique ability to present the unvarnished truth with pungent humor and outraged commentary would be wasted, and I’m sure he knows that.
Report thisAs for who should replace Tim Russert, I think either David Gregory or Gwen Ifill would be excellent. But Keith Olbermann is best serving the American people right where he is.

Okay say it with me now, ‘OLBERMANN OLBERMANN OLBERMANN!’ The obvious heir to Edward R. Murrow. Speaking truth to immoral half-wits and shredding the elements of swinish corruption in the dark heart of Babylon D.C.. Not that Olbermann couldn’t do Mr. Russert’s job. Olbermann could and would do the job remarkably well. Seems mostly neither here nor there. The GE/NBC brain trust more than likely already have a successor picked out. Just so’s it ain’t Andrea ‘boom boom’ Mitchell or Tucker ‘ancillary benefits’ Carlson. Vegas is giving odds at 3-1, the job goes to Brian Williams. Criminy, you can bet ANYTHING in Vegas. I’d like to see Mr. Olbermann do a “Special Comment” on Murdoch the Malevolent! Get ‘em Keith, get ‘em good.
