Obama on Fox News

Barack Obama

Barack Obama has frozen out Fox News since he found himself the victim of the network’s attack journalism at the start of the campaign. Here he lifts the ban to run the gantlet with Chris Wallace on flag pins, the Rev. Wright and, to be fair, more substantive issues.

Summary (see clips below for full interview):

Why in the world would any self confident candidate boycott any network?  Isn’t their only reason for appearing on any TV show to increase their exposure to potential voters?
Fox News has the lion’s share of the evening cable news watchers.  So, it only makes sense that a politician would want to be on Fox News as much as possible.
The real question is why would anyone want to waste their time appearing on MSNBC, whose number of rational viewers is questionable at best.

right winged nuts to at least pretend to be civilized
humans while on the air at FOX. some other means of control should be considered.

“HILLARY IS THE ONE TO TAKE BACK THE WHITE HOUSE AND START TO CLEAN UP THE MESS AND STINK THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION HAS LEFT. IF MCCAIN WINS BECAUSE THE NOMINEE IS OBAMA, THEN WE ARE ALL FUCKED!”

Actually some of that “mess” is Clinton slime. The Bush-Clinton-Bush Government has given the voters a country not slightly similar to the one when/where I grew up.

The corruption is increasing in a geometric progression From the first Bush through the Clinton years, to the second Bush. Scandal, embarrassment, and and now pending economic disaster.

As long as the Clintons or the Bush Family control the White House NOTHING changes.

I’m an old man, and I’ve had a good life in these United States, I only wish succeeding generations could enjoy the same USA I experienced.  BUT That’s not gonna happen… Hill-the-business-shill, Token, or G.I.Joe won’t allow it.

I wonder if people will realize they made a mistake when we’re all sweirlling around in the great vortex as we are flushed… Ross Perot warned us… 15 years ago.

Sure Fox was going to be an antagonistic situation,  Obama knew it, His supporters knew it, Fox knew it, and all of Fox’s audience knew it.  If there was any doubt to the situation that ridiculous ‘Obama Clock’ removed it.  But honestly Obama has made one of his positions that he is going to engage with adversaries such as Ahmadinejad.  How could he maintain credibility about being strong enough to meet with Iran and yet freeze out Fox News?

If anybody lost cred from the whole thing is Fox, who made a big thing about how unlike the rest of the mainstream media they weren’t going to go easy on Obama and yet when he does show up they retread the same issues as the ABC debate and if anything Obame is better rehearsed at handling them because they were so predictable.

OBAMA IS A PHONEY. IF HE SOMEHOW IS CHOSEN AS THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE, KARL ROVE’S STRATEGY WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED. THE REPUBLICANS ARE AFRAID OF CLINTON. SHE CAN TAKE ANYTHING THEY THROW AT HER. OBAMA ON THE OTHER HAND WILL BE CRUCIFIED BY THE SWIFT BOATERS. HILLARY IS THE ONE TO TAKE BACK THE WHITE HOUSE AND START TO CLEAN UP THE MESS AND STINK THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION HAS LEFT.
IF MCCAIN WINS BECAUSE THE NOMINEE IS OBAMA, THEN WE ARE ALL FUCKED!

After Obama hears how the two satelite news shows have chewed him up and spit him out this AM he may want to avoid all media.
The media is much the same as the lobbiers, just screw worms looking for blood, and looking to protect a corporate or Jewish interest.

Why would he legitimize the Republican PR department otherwise known as “Fox Eschews News”? Democrats ought to universally refuse to appear on that network.  For Obama going there is like him agreeing to appear at a KKK convention to defend himself for having a lot of melanin in his skin than them.

Obama is campaigning on hope which obviously offends the hell out of those like the Fox Pundits, their boss Rupert Murdock, and all the Neocons who insist on campaigning solely for more hate.

Sometimes I wonder If I live on the same planet as critics here…

First, on the Black Values System (which I had to reference because I’ve never heard of it) Get a clue, their forefathers were brought here as slaves, our history books have omitted (until very recently) African accomplishments, personalities, and white bigotry. Whites have had their own seperate set of “values” concerning skin pigment, so why should African Americans also have there own seperate values… ALSO, many working blacks and whites have no time for this foolishness.

ABC is owned and operated by the Walt Disney Company. Anyone who would get their news there must also believe the Fess Parker version of Davy Crockett.

What candidates and news outlets refer to as “debates” are not. These shit-fights bare no resemblance to an academic debate, and Maani, you should know better.

The rest of this thread is pure spin..  Personally I do not believe either Democratic candidate is worth squat!

Piss

I usually like Chris Wallace, but in his interview with Obama, I thought he skirted some of the major questions and treated Obama with kid gloves. Why didn’t he ask Obama about his 20 year allegiance to the divisive/racist ‘Black Values System’? Why didn’t he ask him about why the church edited and sanitized the ‘Black Values System’ on their website a couple of months ago, after the controversy appeared ... even though Obama had made his pledge to the previous version which was racially separatist. (Now, you have to search the net and google the old, edited version of the BVS). Is the press now going to give Obama another free pass, because he cried over the hard questions in the debate with Hillary? NOW is the time to finally press Obama and his racist pastor, instead of throwing them easy questions, so they can continue with their vague, cryptic, disingenuous responses.

“I cannot wholly disagree with you, Maani, but maybe if the other Dem candidate(s) had presented a united front against Fox then it wouldn’t be necessary.”

But isn’t that EXACTLY what they did?  Did they not all refuse to debate on FOX?  True, Hillary “loosened” her stance on this much later on, but if memory serves, they DID present a “united front” against FOX.

Peace.

After what ABC did to Obama in that stupid event called a debate why not go to FOX.  ABC is at least as bias as FOX.  What a sorry state we’ve gotten into!

I cannot wholly disagree with you, Maani, but maybe if the other Dem candidate(s) had presented a united front against Fox then it wouldn’t be necessary.

And see the Hedges post: there’s no getting around the corporate ownership/control of the political machine in America…not with hope, not with experience, and certainly not with any candidate coming out of either major party.

Politicians are like peas: they’re good if you like ‘em.

Oh, this is just peachy.  Obama wouldn’t deign to go on FOX to debate the other candidates.  But he has no compunction about doing so in order to defend himself.

What a hypocrite.

I can’t wait to see how the Obama supporters here spin this one…

Peace.
