Fox newsman Chris Wallace just bit the hand that feeds him talking points. While a guest on “Fox and Friends,” Wallace took his colleagues to task for their coverage of Obama and race, accusing them of both belaboring and distorting the story.

Watch it:

Update: John Harrison at The Largest Minority just sent us this follow-up clip of one of the friends walking off the set:

MSGMI…

You hit it on the head here..

“...and their dis-information captures the essence of old Soviet-style propaganda. A perfect fit with the current administration…”

It is EXACTLY like old State sponsored, Soviet-style propaganda!!

Excellent comparison!!

Scary as hell though..

Watching that follow up clip I couldn’t help but be reminded of the Geico ad where the “caveman” is being interviewed and after his bit of complaint about the way people sterotype his “race”, the bubble headed bleach-blonde female commenter is asked for her opinion and says something like, “Looks like someone got up on the wrong side of the rock!”

As is typical of Fox the whole issue is framed in a ridiculously distorted way that just underscores the racism that Obama was trying to address…and that’s what Chris Wallace was trying to get across to them.
They couldn’t hear it because the are so steeped in their own bigoted mindsets that they took his comments as personal attacks.

Anyone who can’t understand the hyperbole involved when the preacher shouted “God damn America”, can’t discuss the issue rationally in the first place. He wasn’t being anti-American at all. He was expressing built-up frustration with the innate hypocrisy of the culture that is still racist and elitist class divided, but claims to be free of these things. I’m white and what he said made perfect sense to me, as did his rage. I’m shocked that some people found it shocking.

Mr. Chalmers You say Cyrena hates Hill because she4 is white… you leveled the same type of charge against me that I hate her because she’s a woman.

Guess what… she’s not that good… She has flaws which do not attach to her race or gender. She’s a business-shill, a supporter of fear tactics, a war advocate, and a self-serving corporate whore.

Her fitness for garbage man is well proven… She can change transmissions with me anytime… I lust don’t want her running anything bigger than a American Legion local!

I agree with you Cyrena.  There was nothing remotely racist in your words.  Thinking someone is creepy is not racist.  That blond-haired lady was creepy with her plastic smile and the leave-it-to-Beaver haircut.  I never watch fox news and at times like these I know why.

After viewing Fox News Channel on seversl occasions I came to the conclusion that Fox media is a scripted off-shot of far right radio talk-shows and their dis-information captures the essence of old Soviet-style propaganda. A perfect fit with the current administration. Their support of neoCONS is unprecedented and national divisiveness is their pet project. Chris Wallace’s recent appearance and comments must have stunned Murdoch’s TV viewing legions…not to mention the outcry by the Fox cast of stars whose linear mindset is a reminder of despotic allegiance.

Congratulations to Chris Wallace. His trash talking friends are either totally stupid, sick or evil, or all threefigures18. Do you ever itch when you accidentally watch Fox News?

I am convinced that there is a gene still unidentified that affects what used to be normal people and turns them into race baiters, liars, and perverted human beings. When does it surface? How long is the hatred dormant?  Oh wait, that’s just in the Blight House, but that also applies generally to Fox Noise.

How do we bring truth to the Huffington Post? To MSNBC? To the New York Times? Even to Truthdig? That’s when it really counts, not when the jackass-propaganda station is talking.

Douglas,

You don’t have a clue as to how totally irrelevant you are.

I made my comments on these fox news people, and that was the extent of it. NOTHING in my comments should be construed as racism. NOTHING.

So it is you douglas, you have proved over and over again, how totally obsessed you are with race and racism, and how you have all of these psychological issues with your mother and white women over the age of what..40? Or does it even matter how old they are? What is it with you anyway? You present like one of Alfred Hitchcock’s characters. Like…maybe that guy in psycho?

I don’t know the source of your psychosis Douglas, or why you happen to be so obsessed with MY race and gender. I just know you’re a sick bastard, and it’s not my fault! I don’t even know your creepy ass!

Again…my post here, says NOTHING about racism. The woman has blonde hair, fashioned in a style that dates back to the 60’s or earlier. PERIOD.

She could be black or green, and still have blonde hair in that same tacky style that was equally tacky in the 60’s.

So, it is YOU Douglas, who are obsessed with race, gender and ME!!

Do you believe that just because your hiding out in somewhere half-way across the world will somehow protect you from our laws here on things like STALKING, and the associated behaviors that you indulge in?

You shouldn’t be so naive. You’ve crossed the line one too many times.

Be on the lookout…some folks can do this stuff, (and worse) with impunity. You aren’t one of them. Maybe you need a lawyer. Hillary should be freed up any day now.

Mike would be proud of his son. Fox News has really gone overboard with the Obama bashing. Even Jack Kemp was sick of it and took Hannity to task for not letting a discussion of other issues take place. The neocons seem determined to make race an issue in this campaign, probably because they know they have losing hands with the economy and the war in Iraq. The problem is all this bashing just encourages the racists to come out from underneath their rocks to fill the airwaves and internet sites with their hateful venom.  One thing that is loud and clear - racism still exists in the U.S.  I think McCain should tell his followers to stop trying to smear Obama who is an honorable man.

That’s just your own racist view of whites coming out again, cyrena….. and attacking a white woman because she has blond hair and she wears a yellow dress for Easter, really, duh. At least she was positive about “discussing double standards…”.

You really ARE so naive but that IS the way those boring suits act and talk. “Aaahh, blah, blah, aaahhh….” like some pebbles rattling in a trash can, groan. That’s why I can never stand to watch either.

The dude never got to finish explaining what he meant about ” ...the way a lot of white people react when they see a black person walking down the street….... I happen to think its true…” which is a pity.

I wanted to know if he had something against blacks or whether he was simply acknowledging that was what white people were like. There IS a generational difference but that doesn’t excuse the rampant racism that still exists.

But there is also the fact that Barack Obama has issues about his white mother and white grandmother and his mixed race origins. That is something the dear dishonest Rev. Wright had too with his bigotry and hatred for white women.

Just like some others on Truthdig, they love to attack Hillary for any reason they can think of just to make themselves feel better. It IS irrational and they do have problems .....but that IS what racism is, essentially.

Regardless of its form, it is either a personality disorder (fixed ideas, etc) or a form of paranoia or even psychopathy. What is worse, it is a kind of mass psychosis but it has also appeared in African-Americans, including you cyrena, according to some of your posts in the past.

Holy Smoly…

I feel so naive!! Since I absolutely NEVER watch Fox News, (or any of it’s affiliates) I had no idea that these people..(Chris Wallace excepted here) these swamp dwellers, even existed!!

Who ARE these people? There’s blondie there, with a hairdo from out of the 60’s, and then there’s the guy who put Obama’s mother as having probably been born in the 20’s or maybe 30’s. HOLY SHIT!

MY mother was born in the 30’s and she’s almost 78 years old. How do they figure that a woman born in the 20’s was likely to have a son as young as Barack? Barack Obama was born in 1961, to parents who were students at the time. How do they figure his mother was born in the 20’s or 30’s, and might they not have narrowed that down a bit?

Or, more to the point, WHY THE HELL ARE THEY EVEN STILL TALKING ABOUT THIS?

That would be the point. The other guy, (not the goofy one with the ‘born in the 20’s or 30’s comment) is down right SCARY looking. Like if I saw him on the street, I’d run. He looks like some sort of an anti-Christ.

And then blondie in the yellow (I guess that’s her Easer outfit?) is still going on about Obama and Rev. Wright, claiming that THESE are the ‘issues’ that the American public wants to know about, if we’re gonna talk about race.

Then Chris has to remind these people with altered brain cells, that he made the speech on race on Tuesday, and he has SINCE made major speeches on Iraq as well as the economy. THOSE are the things that people wanna hear about, from someone running for the office in the year 2008.

So I see here, that I have been somehow ‘sheltered’ by not having ever listened to these people spewing their hate and created distortions. Fox and friends are more like Fox’s very dangerous reptiles.
