Pelosi: Dream Ticket Is ‘Impossible’Posted on Mar 11, 2008
As the chair of the Democratic convention, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she intends to remain neutral throughout the primary process, but toward the end of this clip she seems to rebuke Hillary Clinton. The first woman speaker of the House has done a pretty good job of biting her tongue. She is rumored to favor Barack Obama, though the basis for that speculation is shaky at best. After handling a few political questions, Pelosi says she thinks a dream ticket is impossible, and she blames the Clinton campaign. Why do you think that the Democratic Party chose Obama and Hillary as their probable nominees?——
———to generate the vote of whites, women, and all minorities.
The Republicans are very afraid of this. Their religious backers don’t stand a prayer.
The Democrats are not bashing each other. That’s what the Republicans want us all to believe, and they have the media to try to drill it into our heads—hoping we will hate the bickering and decide to vote for McCain. Too bad for them—we are way beyond the tactics of Karl Rove.
Hillary and Obama exchanging the “he said, you said” mode is all part of the plan. Contrary to what Pelosi might insinuate, Hillary and Obama are indeed an unstoppable force.
The Republicans eagerly want to know who the lone Democratic nominee is once and for all. To wait until August and the Democratic convention, just sets them back on the plan of destruction that they can hardly wait to implement. They never banked on the success of Hillary in Texas and Ohio.
Hillary is the one the Republicans fear the most. She is more electable than Obama. That’s why the Republicans have the media portray Obama as the better candidate or the victim of Clinton’s attacks.
The Republicans are behind all the negative comments in the media such as the ones by Ferraro and Reverend Wright. They want to show discord and lack of unity within the Democrats. They are the ones who outed Spitzer and portrayed him as a corrupt Democrat. It wasn’t so much the sex and prostitution, but rather the message of outing a bad Democrat.
If the Democratics choose Hillary for President and Obama for Vice Pres., then McCain will choose Condi Rice as his running mate, covering both the vote of women and minorities.
Why aren’t the Republicans naming a running mate for McCain? Because they can’t stategize without knowing who the Democrats will have on the ticket. This frustrates them. They will continue to portray the Democrats as bickering until late August. Once the Democratic nominee is chosen, then the total Republican slime machine will kick in. They are so predictable. So pathetic.

I wonder how many people now blog under the name “Mike Mid-City” on Truthdig now? Apart from his partner, there could be a few.
They all have differing styles which are quite obvious…. and quite obviously nothing like the sleazy slug we knew as MMC, uhh.

Pelosi is right on! How can Hillary support Obama after basing her entire campaign strategy against his ability to lead the country? And for Obama to run Hillary as VP? Certainly Pelosi isn’t thinking this, but the notion of Hillary’s self-serving strategy “at all cost” to ensure her Presidency is seriously daunting. (insert theme for Dead Presidents)

If Sen Obama is stupid enough to attach his political future to the Clintons, then he deserves whatever he gets.
And if she thinks that putting him on her ticket is enough to make the likes of me vote for a Clinton, then she’s got another thing coming.
And no, i’m not a Democrat…i have neither the secret decoder ring nor the propensity for self-destruction that are required to be a part of that club…so if you feel that you must respond with don’t vote for McCain, save it. I won’t vote for McCain any which way.
I don’t trust Sen Obama any more than i trust any politician, but i actually trust Sen Clinton less than i trust Sen McCain. At least he doesn’t pretend to be something he’s not.

How could these two candidates reconcile their support of and opposition to the invasion and occupation of Iraq? Impossible.
People support Obama because he opposed the war and he is not Hillary Clinton or John McCain.

Thanks Stormy7. I’ll second your motion. Pelosi has turned out to be ineffective, hypocritical and pandering. When she said that impeachment was “off the table”, the left should’ve risen up as one to impeach her instead. She’s been a massive disappointment on all counts. Many on the right can thank her for turning countless hopeful democrats into cynical political dropouts.

I amend the above: Obama has said that he’s ahead in the race, so why should he be considering an offer to run as VP. That could be construed as negative, i.e. to the suggestion, but it isn’t negative regarding Hillary, whereas Hillary’s deal-breaking comment about Obama most certainly was.

NP was specifically asked about the Dream Ticket idea and she very correctly pointed out that Clinton has stepped on her own tail as far as that possibility goes. NP wasn’t asked about Obama’s negative comments.

The impossible “dream” is thinking that anything really is going to change no matter who the Dims prop up as the nominee - that’s what “No Impeachment Pelosi” means.
There’s not enough red phones to go around for all the Don Quixotes in this race. Nancy Pelosi - please resign and do us all a favor.

“I thlought it was strange that Pelosi chose to criticize Hillary but not Obamas negative remarks “
Report thisThe kitchen sink attack strategy is exclusive to the Clinton campaign. Obama’s responses, for the most part, are in direct reaction to Clinton’s attacks. So it is deceptive to present it as both sides stooping to dirty tactics equally.

Hillaryious’ only hope is if Rush Limbaugh can get out the redneck nation vote in higher numbers in the upcoming states. If you notice in the past few races since Rush started calling for Republican men to vote for Hillary…Obama’s white men majority in all previous contests has vanished. Republican men hate Hillary with a passion and exit polls from Miss. showed that Hillary recieved not only the white men vote but also the Republican vote by 75%...chicanery goins on here…Hillary is running a forked tongue devil campaign and it will come back to bite her in the rear end

Right, Tahoe Editor, she’s re-interpreted Hillary Clinton’s comments about Obama as not wanting him as VP although Hillary simply meant that BO shouldn’t be voted for as a presidential candidate.
Hillary has actually just accepted the idea of BO as as VP on a dual ticket…... so who’s deciding all this then, uhh??? Its hardly Hillary’s fault that Obama declined…..

I thlought it was strange that Pelosi chose to criticize Hillary but not Obama’s negative remarks - but perhaps she was simply making the point that neither candidate could accept the prospect of becoming a VP nominee at this stage?
What was signifcant was from what she stated was that it will be very likely that neither Clinton nor Obama will ever be considered as a VP once the presidential nominee is chosen. I said that Obama would find himself out of a job, uhh.
That may or may not still damage the Democrats irreparably at the election, though. The Obama supporters seem naive enough to think that they can carry through alone but they are only one eighth of the voting-age population.
The Democrats are now ‘the frog being heated slowly in a pan of water’ until the Republicans decide that they are cooked! One might even ask if this is not some covert agenda on the part of one of the candidates???

Here in Pennsylvania, Billary is pulling out the NAFTA deception again, and because the MSM—with the exception of Keith Olberman, has not confronted the monster Billary with it, she continues to use it without being held accountable.
Report thisI wonder if they were gunning for Spitzer—apparently applause spontaneously broke out on Wall St with the news. Big money certainly had cause and it isn’t as if they don’t also frequent call girls. It should be easy enough to gather dirt on the monster Billary—problem is the monster Billary has no shame and why should big money or heavyweight politicians poop on their cakewalk?

Pelosi’s boneheaded “impossible” remark shows a complete lack of leadership. She’s an embarrassment to the party.
