Let’s just put it out there that this is not a critique of Hillary Clinton the candidate. Having said that, we’ll also say that it’s quite possible that this is the worst campaign song/video of all time. Somewhere, the members of the Jackson 5 are cringing. No parody necessary.

Can you just picture the songwriter and singers recording this and thinking, wow, this is really clever? It’s gonna be a hit.  Nothing worse than people who have no clue.  This is damaging to Clinton like Reverend Wright is to Obama wink

It’s not part of their channel on youtube, you can’t comment on it, and it doesn’t appear on their website.

This is very indicative of the Hillary Clinton campaign. It’s almost as if she has no idea how to be an attractive candidate. She’s so stuck in some twilight zone episode.

Hillary’s campaign and her supporters like Maani still don’t get it: We’ve had 18 years of policy wonks - first the Clinton crowd and then the neo-con’s - and they all jogged in place as the world changed around us. Much of the electorate wants a leader who can lead change and nit treat as this week’s slogan (the way Hillary used it for a while). This is why Obama is doing so well - including closing the numbers gaps in Texas and Ohio, according to the daily rolling, tracking polls such as those run by Rasmussen and the AP.

Washington is filled with bright men and women - elected and civil servants - just aching for a chance to put their good ideas to work, if only there was a President who set the tone and direction, rally the country and got us moving again.

As a high ranking Democratic party operative who is not involved in either campaign said to me Thursday, “It’s the technocrat against the visionary. I think we’ve had plenty of technocrats, guys like Cheney and Rumsfeld, but we’re short on visionaries which how clowns like Cheney ended up in charge.”

As an aside, since when is being uplifted and moved by a political figure a bad thing? You want details: Spend a day reading Obama’s website, watch tapes of the soon-to-be 20 debates that are posted on-line, read the transcripts of Obama’s speeches (as opposed to the sound bites that make it onto the news and into newspapers. Obama has more depth and breadth than Billary can find ways to go negative on him.

Is the trying to appeal to the older white voters by giving them a nostalgic disco-type song from ages ago? Who’s her new campaign director? Donna Summer? If this is her new direction, she may as well concede now.

No…this is at least a decade before 1988. I wanna put it in the early to mid 70’s, but I haven’t bothered to check it.

Reminds me of a Billy Bob’s sort of thing with a few non-whites thrown in to make it ‘modern’.

It made me cry.  It’s all so sad.  This frenetic woman trying so hard to be president.  Jeez, it’s awful.  It’s a wonder she wasn’t wearing that hideous squash-colored ill-fitting jacket with the black piping.  I’m really beginning to feel sorry for her.  She’s so pathetic.  The video looks and sounds like a disorganized commercial for an exercise class.  It’s a joke, right?  Like why was that polar bear sitting on a chunk of ice?  It’s all too much for me.  I’m going to bed.  http://www.sonjarants.blogspot.com

Well, there ya go. It has migrants/ethnic groups in it, some are Latino, some are Asian - even Vietnamese. An Arab even but none are Jews. Is that what you are complaining about, Scheer?

Or is it that there is an elderly woman - and a child fronting the band with more talent than you’ll ever have, uhh?!?! Oh, I see, its that there are young people in it and its not the 1970’s…..

You are so-oooo out of date.  No parody necessary? You are a parody of your own sad existence. Living in the miserable past and hoping for “change” when the path to happiness is right there in front of you.

“Those poor children, what kind of adults allowed them to engage in this type of aberrant behavior.  This could haunt them for the rest of their lives.”

Aberrant Behavior? Too funny….

But hey, check out Jacko Whacko these 40 years down the road. What can I say?

Actually, I did have to take it as satire, so I thought the thing was kind of funny, in a pathetic sort of a way. I mean, as bad as it is NOW, historians and other social scientists down the road are gonna love it. They’ll be able to find some ‘repeating’ themes and behaviors over decades.

Oh my, they’ll be able to interpret this in MULTIPLE ways.

Meantime, I’m still LOL.. smile

And there it is in a nutshell.  The people are more interested in fluff and flutter - being “uplifted and inspired” - than with things actually getting done.

I could not have put Hillary’s case in a better light if I had tried to myself.

Peace.

It’s in the same league as “I’m Gonna Vote for Hubert Humphrey” in 1960 and “I’m Madalay for Adali” in the previous election.

In a way, though, the song epitomizes the entire Clinton campaign: It prattles on about policy wonk stuff when, clearly, the electorate wants to be uplifted and inspired. Billary are campaigning against hope and that strategy has never worked in American politics. Remember Jimmy Carter? When he told Americans they suffered from a “malaise,” he sealed his political doom.

Compare this song to “Yes, We Can.” See what I mean?

Anyway, the Clinton campaign song is so amateurish it reminds me of so-called “Christian Rock.” By it’s very nature, rock n’ roll is anarchy and has nothing to do with Christianity—or any other religion.

Okay, so the song is hopelessly twee.  But it’s hardly the worst thing I’ve ever heard.  The writer and performers certainly have heart, and one cannot be faulted for that.

Still, I would have liked to see special guest Bill Clinton wailing a mean-ass sax solo!

Peace.

Obviously an independent effort, with the singing/dancing footage and crummy sountrack amateurishly spliced into generic campaign footage.  “Gene Wang” is either a misguided and terminally corney Hillary supporter, or more likely the whole thing is a malicious spoof.  Notice how the YouTube site with thousands of views has had comments turned off.

It looked like there were about 20 people “dancing” in the “crowd”...that’s about right.
