Like Hope, but DifferentPosted on Feb 11, 2008
The inevitable parodies of Barack Obama’s “Yes We Can” video have begun—this one isn’t so much about Obama or Hillary Clinton as it is about Republican front-runner John McCain, whose infamous hundred-year (or more) plan for America’s presence in Iraq is deservedly and humorously lambasted here. Oh, Cyrena, how could you say that?
Do you not know of America’s God-given superiority over ALL other nations? God, and God alone has given us not only the right, but the obligation to liberate the poor, the weak, the oppressed.
Report thisHave you not heard of nor understand the concept of Manifest Destiny?
And if a few hundred thousand poor, weak, oppressed non-whites get whacked in the process, hey, this is the real world, you just can’t free some people without freeing them of their lives.
And if we pay more attention to the rich, the powerful, the oppressors as we liberate the country’s resources, I mean people, well, hell, God may have given us the mandate, but we’re only human, after all.
That’s why all that talk is just cute and irrelevant, and only wimps, commies, and those gol-dang evilutionists are the only ones saying those godless things like peace, understanding and staying the f**king hell out of where we sure as hell don’t belong.

Ah…you have this crystal ball, eh blueeagle? You KNOW that neither Barack of Hillary will ever get our troops out of Iraq or any of those other places. (actually, the Germans don’t have a problem with us there). The Koreans maybe, and definitely the Japanese, and I suspect the Saudis don’t mind any more, (though they did warn the first bush that he couldn’t leave troops there indefinitely, but he didn’t listen). Too bad, that’s pretty much why those Arabs don’t like us much.
Still, on the Saudi side, the bush regime has promised to protect them. So, for starters, we just need to get out of Iraq, and and the middle east in general. Then we can get out of Japan, and Korea, and well…wherever else we aren’t welcome.

Not really Marshall,
Nobody has said suggested that the US shouldn’t be anywhere on the planet except for the US.
We’ve actually just suggested that there is no reason for the US military to be anywhere on the planet, except for the US, unless maybe some other country has requested some help.
So, I don’t think anybody has any troubles with the US having diplomatic or other embassy type presence in other places. Again…as long as they’re invited. Killing millions of citizens in other countries and violating their sovereignty just isn’t so neighborly. Not for a year, and not for 100 years.
Now of course it you would be willing to make the military forces of various other countries welcome here in the US, they might not mind so much. I doubt that you’d be all that crazy about having the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, or China’s military, or any of those guys living in a base up the road from you though.
Meantime, it would appear that a whole LOT of people ‘actually listened’ to McCain’s 100 year comment about the continued occupation of Iraq, and they don’t seem to agree with you that it was particularly ‘innocuous’, which is why the repugs are losing their asses. It’s why the dems won’t even put the democratic repug in office, and that’s even after she started promising that we would leave.
So, I guess there must be a lot of people who think like those weird libertarian isolationists, and Cindy Sheehan. (glad you appear to know that Cindy Sheehan isn’t a libertarian isolationist). Kind of dysfunctional thinking on your part though, to suggest that she doesn’t think the US military should be ANYWHERE, since her own son was in the military before he died for oil in Iraq.
I think that’s the part she has the problem with.
That’s the part that 75% of Americans have the problem with as well.
So, maybe we SHOULD just stay home for a while, and not be anywhere else on the planet.

Did anyone actually listen to the 100 year comment? Pretty innocuous. Unless you think the US shouldn’t be anywhere on the Planet except in the US, which would put you in agreement with a few libertarian isolationists and Cindy Sheean.

A funny video to be sure but mostly very scary. Mc Cain most certainly will be our next President. I cannot see how Exxon Mobile, Citigroup, Bank of America, Time Warner and the other Multinationals would allow any other candidate to be “elected”.

This man is going to be our next president. He is directly tied to Bush and the (machine). He means to continue the work started by the elite. We need to take this seriously. Instead of removing our focus on Obama (and our future) to pay attention to things like this only meant to distract us we need to wake up to the very real danger of Mc CAIN as president of the NWO.

Well he does have a Grammy in his pocket. Maybe his new friends can help him to the summit of American Idol?

I had to watch this twice to get the full benefit of the humor. I might even have to watch it again…
The ‘old-school’ dude humming the ‘old-school’ melody until he ‘gets’ it, and the poor guy blowing into the paper bag for his panic attack are truly priceless.
Omigod…I’m still laughing..
