What will it take to end the bitter standoff between WGA screenwriters and studio big cheeses?  Stephen Colbert tries an innovative—and inspiring—approach by breaking into “Go Down Moses” with some help from the Harlem Gospel Choir and “Blink” author Malcolm Gladwell.

Glad to have him, Stewart, and Bill Maher back! These guys provide a vital public service.  Who the hell misses the rest of the dreck that drops off the air because crappy writers don’t want to work I cannot begin to imagine.

Now I just hope that Penn & Teller work with non-union writers!

Stephen Colbert is a gatekeeper on a range of lies, including 9/11 and the fake/phony/staged nature of “opposition” between Dems and Reps.

If Colbert is really interested in ending the writer’s strike, he and whoever else is writing his show right now would put their pencils down.

They’re prolonging the strike.  After all, if the studios know shows can get written by those willing to cross their own picket lines, why make a deal?

Think about how you would feel if you were on strike to get a fair deal from your employer and someone you worked with crossed your line and went back to work.  Most writers are suffering.  Most of us aren’t rich.  We’re sacrificing a lot now in order to get a better deal for the future.  Unions only work if there is unity.

Colbert, Jon Stewart, and the writers they clearly have working with them are being paid to write during a writer’s strike.  This, unfortunately, makes them scabs.  Don’t support them.

God’s Children

God’s Children have lost their way
Jesus has very much too say
Will they listen
Those restless souls
Or will they go their own way
Loneliness, trouble and despair
They will meet at their will
But Jesus’ Will shall never fail
To come and heal them
And bring them home
