Really?  Was that the best they could do?  Hillary Clinton calmly dismissed the action of chauvinistic attendees at a Salem, N.H., rally who yelled “Iron my shirt!” repeatedly as she was talking.  “Ah, the remnants of sexism—alive and well,” Clinton quipped, to the approval of the rest of the audience.

Just another reason why I could never be a political figure because if that was yelled out to me I would have replied, “Just as soon as you finishing polishing my boots, because I want them to be nice and clean when I stick them up your ignorant ass.”  Or, perhaps, I could be a Republican president.  Mr. Bush, in his never ending display of ignorance, while trying to pretend he was a broker for a Middle East peace agreement said he was “there to herd” as if they were a bunch of cattle.  And, we have one more year of him.

This woman hasn’t the skill needed to iron a shirt!

Give me a break.  These people were ABSOLUTELY there as plants.  This is like kindergarten in the Clinton playbook.

I doubt that Hillary’s resisting the urge to address the heckling of one bambastic ignoramus in need of laundry service puts her ahead of Patriarchy in this race. Hillary’s ignoring this baboon doesn not so much as scratch the Patriarchal surface. That Hillary is in a Presidential race affects Patriarchy in no wise. She’s merely one woman in a field of men. I don’t even smell the smoke of a single bra burning in her camp, just cold creme and Calgon.

Why must bigots insist on being so public with their foolishness?

I wish someone would’ve punched them in the face.

One doesn’t get into these events with signs.  These two are very likely Hillary plants.

Might they be plants of the Clinton campaign?  It would not be the first time Hillary used a plant.  She is now in panic mode given her reversal of fortune.  Anyway, her maids do the ironing.  wink

Whoever the unnamed editor be who named this dig
<Clinton: 1, Patriarchy: 0>,

you got snookered in a big way. I could not run the vid but read a few notices about the incident. I think Sen. Clinton and the Truthdig lady are missing the rhythm of political dirty tricks. Unless these guys were brothers who just had too much to drink, the timing of this verbal barrage does not make it seem genuine to me. Several months ago, I would have probably said such a thing on a blog like this just as a cheap shot for my feminist antagonists. But not now. Events are way too serious and starting to feel critical-mass to independents and third-party advocates. I think this was a put-up job to disrupt both Clinton and the developing sense of direction in the Democrat camp; a sense which has made the Republican lineup look bad.
