Affleck
youtube.com

He’s a star, and he has the shirt to prove it:  Affleck whips out the Elmer’s glue in the “Divided We Fail” TV spot.

Who knew that Reese Witherspoon window-shops for shoes?  Or that Ben Affleck glues elaborate doll houses together?  Or that Jeremy Piven eats what appears to be gruel on a lush outdoor patio?  These intimate celebrity vignettes were captured for the AARP’s ad campaign for its “Divided We Fail” intiative calling for “red, blue ... liberal, conservative” (and, apparently, “rich, famous”) Americans to unite for the causes of health care and long-term financial security.

AARP sold the American Seniors down the river just like Planned Parenthood did by supporting LIEberman!

I don’t really understand the nature of this posting-does it take away from the fact that the problems with health care have reached a critical point just because celebs were recruited to be in the advert???

I think not—I for one have come to the conclusion that this nation needs, among a long list of things, needs to address the health care situation NOW!!!!!

It is something that can longer wait—people are getting sick, going broke or worse and the health care crisis is having a major negative impact on our economy and economic competitiveness.

This needs to be a “priority one” issue.

I am glad the AARP did the advert!!!

The one thing we do need though in this case is not to have the celebs talk about this—but for the average Joe and Jane citizen to get stoked about this issue—perhaps—just perhaps we will then get real movement on this issue and not just lip service and some marginal changes at the margins-

Let’s get real folks—mixing the for profit motive of large corporations with providing health care makes no sense at all—-they are totally diamtetrically opposite goals.

The only real answer is (que the scary music!!!!) “SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!!!!!!!!” (ohhhhh the horror——the horror!!!!”)

I’ve had enough. Let’s import our “celebs” from China like everything else and be done with it.

Such a superficial, meaningless piece of non-information is hard to find anymore. Mission accomplished - Truthdig.
