Ahmadinejad

The “Mosaic Intelligence Report” examines the fallout of the new NIE report, which says Iran suspended its nuclear weapons program in 2003: Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is being touted as the winner in the Middle East—except in Israel—and George Bush’s America is being called the loser.

And what do you think of Obadiah Shoher’s arguments against the peace process ( samsonblinded.org/blog/we-need-a-respite-from-peace.htm )?

It is indeed a victory for Ahmadinejad, how could it be otherwise?
Here is the man serenly proclaiming that his country doesn’t work on nuclear weapons and for that reviled tirelessly by our propaganda machine as a new Hitler and- liar. Now, suddenly, it turns out that our raging and nuclear war threatening President was miserably lying, himself, all this time. It is not just a defeat for our Liar-in-Chief but for all our war-mongering cabal around him.
This small Persian withstood all threats and unbecoming insults with a remarkable dignity, totally unafraid of dire consequences we were threatening him with if he doesn’t fall on his knees.
Some lesson for Americans that spirit prevails over sword.
Ahmadinejad (name means the Tribe of Ahmad) is a deeply religious man, unlike our phony Christian leaders who proclaim they are murdering and torturing in the name of Jesus Christ.
Yes, that ‘sand trap Iran’ produces some real men. Too bad we don’t have some of them.

You’re right no one should underestimate the neo-spin machine. FOX News is already on top of it but I am hopeful this time that it will fail.

I have another take on the NIE report.  Although Bush keeps repeating that we are not “out of the wood” concerning Iran, I believe that, although he could have squashed the report, which did not agree with his rhetoric, he saw that he had finally painted himself in a corner.  Therefore, he let the NIE report out of the bag, implicitly claiming that he has no other choice but to back down, leaving the Iranian question to his successor.  I don’t believe he thought about that ruse all by himself, but even a broken clock gives the right time twice per day…

Bush has destroyed America’s reputation not only in the Middle East but all over the world. I wonder what additional lies is he cooking before leaving office?

It is very clear that finally someone within the intelligence community decided to break away from the Administration and not repeat what had happened with Iraq. This was a mini coup. It stunned the Administration and it certainly spoiled Israel’s plans for an attack on Iran.
