Bill Maher showdown

The “Real Time” host became so frustrated with a couple of “9/11 Truthers” who infiltrated his audience Friday that he left the stage to personally oversee their expulsion. The fracas was so entertaining that HBO aired the entire incident on the West Coast feed, which could have easily been edited.

Off topic, but I feel compelled to challenge Gary’s statement:

“If there is one thing that one can say about Bush is that despite all his faults on seemingly every issue, at least he means well when it comes to terrorism and human life.”

From an article in 2000 by Derrick Z. Jackson,

“Bush, who ridiculed death row inmate Karla Faye Tucker, whining in mock exaggeration in an interview that Tucker begged, ‘‘Please don’t kill me.’’ Bush, who has made his Christianity part of his resume, mocked Tucker even though she said she had found Christ.”

Pathetic.

“It’s called controlled demolition. And, the military is quite good at it.

Is any building that falls down a controlled demolition?  How would you have expected the towers to fall?  Where do you get that the military is good at CD?  Was the event in St Louis done by the military, or private contractors?

As far as the CD of the WTC’s:
1) what are the devices/chemicals that would be used in the demolition?
2) how were they able to apply them all, without anyone seeing or getting curious about them?
3) how many people were involved, and when did they do the work?
4) If all these devices were new technology/state of the art explosives, how did they know how to apply them in the single largest demolition job in the history of mankind? With no previous experience or knowledge about how they would work in a real world situation?

These are the types of things sane and reasoning people ask, instead of just relating current events to something remembered from 1972.

“...The WTC Towers fell downward, not outward.  Is life really so dull that people need to re-write reality?” by Bob Greenberg on 10/21 at 6:14 pm

Well, now, we don’t want the load of crap the revisionist have decided is going to be the official story to be the uncontested official story. If the evil empire would humor me with a real investigation to contradict my conspiracy theory, I would go on and take off my tin-foil helmet.

The dust from the pulverized towers blew outward for miles for days through Manhattan. What was left of the Twin Towers fell straight down into the foundation in under 10 seconds. Then the foundation burned and smoked for weeks.

Honestly, I think you may be candidate for Praxil if you’re failing to see this for what it is. We need to beleive our lying eyes on this one, if never another one. Even if all the jet fuel had somehow drained from the planes 100-plus floors down into the basements, there still would not have been sufficient fuel to bring steel structures down to the foundation that fast, spread dust and debris for miles, and then the foundations burn that hot for weeks. No, sweetie.

The last time I saw anything like what happened to the Twin Towers on 9/11, the city of St. Louis got the Missouri National Guard to come in to level the Pruitt-Igo housing projects. It was a military demolition project to help along the urban renewal programs of the 1960s. The only difference here was the City of St. Louis mercifully moved everyone out of the projects first. But, the Pruitt-Igo towers fell in a matter of seconds into their respective foundations. And, concrete dust and debris blew through downtown St. Louis for days until clean-up was complete.

It’s called controlled demolition. And, the military is quite good at it.

the bias of this site is rather clear in the text of this post.

“The fracas was so entertaining that HBO aired the entire incident on the West Coast feed, which could have easily been edited.”

Why would they edit it?  A bunch of idiots who believe everything that alex jones and dylan avery tells them interrupt a live tv show, and are kicked out.  This shows how insane and annoying the ‘thruth’ movement is, and it should be show.  If people are to lazy to fact check the things the truth leaders tell them, then they deserve to be shown in a poor light.  Seriously, i need to start a conspiracy web site, it has got to be a gold mine.

Good job on bill, people like this do not deserve public access, i would give it to the young earth creationists and the no moon landing folks first.

If you don’t think there’s been an adequate investigation, then demand an investigation.  By stating that controlled explosive brought the towers down, you lose all credibility.

And on the controlled explosives thing.  The video clearly shows the collapse of both towers started at the impact site.  I have yet to hear an explanation as to how these explosives survided the impact.  And no,  “What about WTC7?” is not a suitable explanation.

Congresswoman Lee showed us, once again, how stupid she is:  “I’m not even going to touch the first amendment.”  This was ia suggestion on her part that Maher is somehow against “freedom of speech.”  Even a basic high-school civics student would know that the first amendment protects us from government stifling speech (no matter how ridiculous)—it has nothing to do with Bill Maher having to tolerate it on his TV show.

It’s not so much believing whether or not there was a conspiracy, it’s believing there was a truly honest and open investigation.  We do know two things, this Admin is neither honest or open.  Transparentcy would be the only way to conduct the investigation of such a horrible crime against our citizens. Bill Mahr could very well be protecting his show, I can’t blame him for that.  This season does seem to be a little off his game.  More interesting and telling than the “incident” was Matthews comments.  Seems to me he is trying to center himself in anticipation of losing his inside contacts when the creepy right is replaced by the balless left.  I mean where was all this insight when the moron was preaching war in Iraq, especially in 04.  It’s fun to watch them all doing their little dance.  We all know how much Matthews HATES the Clintons and he is praying for Sen Clinton to get the Democratic nomination so he can spend another year spewing his hateful crap with the hope his buddy Rudy gets elected.  Matthews is a smart guy, he’s got to know another 4 years of this kind of “rule” is going to destroy this country.  But, he is so blinded by his hate for prochoice Democrats he can’t see straight.

I’m not sure what not celebrating Christmas is designed to do, however I am in favor of not spending money to put China’s poison under our Christmas Trees.  It couldn’t hurt to give your children a passed down family treasure, or maybe a ball and jump rope, something with no batteries or electricity and must be used outdoors. It sure would be nice to put a real hurt on Corp America.  I’m all for that…...

I would just like to point out that I did not presume to know who was behind the use of explosives in bringing down the buildings in NYC on 9/11/2001.  I am just stating that it is obvious to me, in light of what evidence has survived, that what I see in the video of those buildings coming down does not resemble the gradual failure of structure and non-symmetrical collapse that would be caused by fire and gravity.

The shock of the impact of the airliners was absorbed by the structure of the buildings within seconds of impact.  They oscillated momentarily and then the load of the building was redistributed across the intact structure, as was designed into the buildings, and the buildings stabilized.

The Twin Towers were designed to be able to withstand the full impact of a Boeing 707, the largest airliner flying at the time of their design, and the principal engineer on the project has stated that the buildings could probably have withstood “multiple” 707 impacts.  The 707, because of a higher flight speed and roughly the same mass as a 767 presents a very similar impact energy as the planes that hit the towers.  So airliner impact cannot be considered to be a factor at the moment of collapse, roughly one hour after the crashes at each tower.

If you can get a video of the towers coming down with sound, turn the volume up.  The tremendous roar is from thousands of synchronized demolition charges.  People tend to think that if explosives were used they should hear a big “boom,” but instead, because many, many charges are detonated in bringing down a building, the sound is more like an ocean wave.

Richard Gage, an architect with many years of experience designing reinforced steed structures has put together a compelling presentation of the evidence that the buildings in NYC that came down were brought down with demolition charges.  You can view his presentation at:

  http://www.ae911truth.org/

There is a fascinating and shocking article on the missing billions in unmarked and unregistered $100 bills that were shipped by semi truck on pallets to Andrews AFB and the flown to Baghdad on C-141 aircraft by Bartlett and Steele entitled “Billions Over Baghdad.”

http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2007/10/iraq_billions200710

In that article they detail how two recently retired Army Rangers were given $100 million in cash, in several installments, to provide security for commercial airline flights into Baghdad.  Of course, no such flights ever happened, so those guys were given $100 million for nothing.  Or was it for nothing?  Were those guys demolition experts?  A company called “Ace Elevator,” which has since been dissolved, had a contract to upgrade the elevators in the Twin Towers for 9 months prior to 9/11/2001.  I would think it would be appropriate to interview surviving security and maintenance personnel from the WTC, show them photos of Custer and Battles, the two retired Rangers who got all that cash, and inquire as to whether or not those men frequented the Towers prior to 9/11.  It is leads like that that need to be investigated that have not been investigated.

Incredible as it may seem, there have been no trials, no indictments and no - yes that’s right - no - zero subpoenas issued to investigate what happened on 9/11/2001. While the 9/11 Commission, made up of lawyers and Washington insiders instead of scientists and structural engineers, fought against having subpoena power for reasons that are not clear, it was granted over their wishes, but was never used, not even once.

It is facts like these that are causing informed and concerned people to call for a full and complete investigation of the events of 9/11/2001.

I just want to add, why did 7 World Trade Center come down like 1 and 2 did?  It was across the street from the World Trade Center Plaza, and was not connected to the concourse as the other buildings where, so where did the “fire” come from to topple that building?  It was not hit by a plane.

Morons. 9/11 truthers grab onto the fact that steel melts at a super high temperature and -instantly- assume that they have solid proof that it was an inside job. Never mind that steel goes to 50% strength at the temperature of the ignited fuel, and that steel at 50% strength DOES fall apart; we WANT our government to want to kill us, dammit!

Morons. Idiots on a level that makes me want to bash my skull in. I just can’t believe that anyone could be so stupid…

I can’t be kind about this: I hear someone who adamantly believes that 9/11 was a hoax, and I want to bash their skulls in. I really do. Not only are they deciding that Osama is an innocent man that had nothing to do with this, but they have decided that our government has -no- qualms with slaughtering thousands of us and then would be COMPLETELY incapable of stopping this rumor from circulating. After all, we know that the government can’t stop TEENAGERS. OH HELL NO. The government can only make firefighters, police officers, entire cities, airplane pilots, family victims, army generals, military officials, congress, CIA, FBI, analysts, steel workers, hospital workers, and white house staff simultaneously lie AND keep it covered up for years. I probably missed a few groups, but keep in mind that our government would have to probably get upwards of MILLIONS OF PEOPLE to lie JUST TO KILL SOME CIVILIANS. For Christs sake, how retarded are you morons to think that this is even REMOTELY feasible?

http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=911_morons

Read it. Get your head out of your ass and read it, and then come to me and whine out another post about big bad government trying to murder us all for no reason. You can see that Bush has no qualms with starting a war for NO reason (Iraq) so why the -hell- would he try to MAKE a reason to go to Afghanistan?

I have still never heard from any conspiracy-minded type how they can accept that this so-called conspiracy could have been so well executed and so well covered up by an administration that has proven itself to be so utterly incompetent in executing a battle plan or covering up malfeasance.

Really, the amount of planning, the number of people involved from so many branches of government and the military would be staggering.  This administration couldn’t keep it quiet when two people drove across town to a hospital to talk to the Attorney General.  They cannot keep the minutes of classified briefings under wraps.  Almost every day, we hear about something else being leaked to the press.  But we’re supposed to believe that six years after slaughtering several thousand American citizens, not a single conspirator has experienced a guilty conscience and come forward? Not a single assistant, husband, wife, son, daughter or friend of a conspirator has stumbled upon any evidence?

Your current administration is corrupt, incompetent and criminal.  Hate them for what they are and for what they do.  Not for what you wish they did.

Mr Fretheim…when you invoke the “entire history” of steel reinforced structures, you’re talking about a period of less than 150 years.  Jet aviation’s been around for considerably less than 100 years.  So, how many fuel-laden passenger airliners have been flown into steel-reinforced skyscrapers “anywhere on earth” in “the entire history of the existence of such structures”?  Obviously no one can provide a baseline comparison for an unprecedented event.  But the next time a team of lunatics crashes a fully-fueled jet into a skyscraper, when the building collapses after a massive conflagration…what will the 9/11 conspiracy theorists say?  That they misjudged their structural physics?  That they reached the wrong answer about extreme heat, weight and impact?  No.  Of course they’ll declare that whoever orchestrated the most recent attack simply hired the same black-ops demolition team contracted to topple the WTC.  (And Elvis did the site survey, with the help of the flying saucer people.)

Yes Bob, many buildings have fallen to flame before.  But the point of the 9/11truthers is that no *steelframe* building has ever toppled at freefall speeds due to fire. Except the three WTC buildings on 9/11.

They have a valid point here.

I don’t know why the WTC buildings are the exception to the rule.  But they are a glaring exception to this rule.

What a great commentary reaction to Bill Mahr. It’s a delight to read these views, from folks who obviously are not fooled.

Kind of sad in a way, because I’ve generally enjoyed him, and his shows.

But, I’m thinking like 911truthdotorg…He must really be spooked. And of course we know he’s had his ‘troubles’ before. I’m sure he’s been well advised to stay within the limits, since it could be more than just a firing/economic lynching the next time.

Still, he went way too far with the campus stuff…apparently deciding to join the ranks of the swarm that has decended upon University Campuses, in the name of promoting Islamo-PHOBIA, just a further extension of the phony ‘war on terror’ that has lost it’s effectiveness, since even the dumbest of ‘we the people’ can only be ‘fooled’ for so long.

I’d say the Thugs in the District of Cheney are becoming ever more desperate, if they’ve managed a way to co-opt Bill Mahr. He wouldn’t be the first.

Meantime, RAGE, you mentioned on another post, about arranging to just NOT celebrate Christmas this year. Sounds like an excellent idea!! REALLY. And, there’s actually TIME to work that up, if we can start soon.

I don’t have a whole lot of time myself, but I can make some. I’m not sure how to get it started, maybe some sort of a website, (don’t know how to put it together) and then just a blitz of notice. (I can do that). So, if anybody else wants to step it with that, and offer some suggestions to kick it off, we can make this Christmas a big statement, by choosing to celebrate it, by NOT celebrating it.

This would serve a multitude of purposes.

There is also an event that has been organized for Oct 27, the link is here.

...“Maybe it’s time we took over the country with a massive collective meaning-filled movement for peace.”

Meantime, SHAME on you Bill. We had come to expect more. Shame, shame, shame.

Bill Maher needs to crack a window and let in some fresh air. His only area of expertise beyond comedic political punditry is titty bars. The guy is no authority on science or the timetable of events surrounding Tuesday, 11SEP2001. He just knows Dumya didn’t plan it. That he doesn’t see the probability of something other than refined kerosene taking down two 100-story buildings at free-fall speed more than validates his ignorance of both chemistry and physics. What’s worse is his refusal to objectively investigate claims with which he doesn’t agree. That Maher doesn’t agree that there was a conspiracy to expand executive powers that more than likely included the attack of the WTC does not make the suspicion utter nonsense or the suspicious crazed lunatics in tin-foil hats.

Then, because it is his show, he got pissy with hecklers. All he had to do to silence that bunch was ignore them and move on with his show. Or, motion for security to herd them on out of the studio. He took a big chance with his own safety, wading into the audience to put on his tough guy act for the folks at home. It would have been a real ratings raiser if the hecklers had beaten his ass while he was down there.

Maher then went on to provoke the chirping of crickets when he complained about radical liberalism raging out of control on college campuses. Even Chris Matthews had a stunned puzzled WTF expression on his face when Maher remarked campus radical liberalism was worse than radical conservatism. Matthews’ question was where this crap going on? No one was able to site a single instance of revolutionary liberalism waging out of control on campus, Kent State style.

The rest of the show kind of fizzled from there. I wouldn’t be surprised if this crap wasn’t canceled next season. The show’s concept, the way Maher is doing it, is played.

Fire and gravity have never toppled a single steel reinforced building ever in in the entire history of the existence of such structures.

I challenge Bob Greenberg or anyone else to submit a documented case of fire causing a steel reinforced building to collapse occurring anywhere on Earth.

I realize that it has been claimed that it happened three times on 9/11/2001, but those claims are in question. I mean any instance that was investigated in the proper way for reasons of public safety related to future building design.  For those reasons alone the steel from the buildings and other evidence should not have been removed before such an investigation was complete.

A good place to start a serious investigation would be to determine who made the decisions to remove evidence from a crime scene before the investigation was complete.  That is a felony.

Well…either Bill Maher is ignorant or you’re completely nuts. Is it possible that vain music videos do not give the full details of the attacks? Is it possible that half of the country did not become honorary PhDs in physics by watching a video some kid set to bad techno rock? Is it also possible that we aren’t storing space ships in the Arizona desert and did not shoot JFK? Is it also possible that the government is not responsible for every horrible thing that happens and there are actually people, well financed people, in this world who want to destroy us and are not just poor helpless victims of the evil United States? Is it possible that at the VERY LEAST your argument does not hold up because no group greater than one person can hold a secret? I imagine this vast conspiracy involved many people, none of whom apparently have the conscience to speak up. Let me guess? They were very well paid off by the money that the government received from bin Laden in return for our making him into a hero?
Get off your high horse and try to come up with an opinion of your own. One should not call a millionaire with his own show dumb when one is convinced of a mass cover up by a music video.

So…the 9/11 Commission also took part in the cover-up of the contained explosion perpetrated by the government? How far this conspiracy goes!
No one ignores the fact that Bush has tried to cover up just about everything that has happened throughout his tenure, but to insinuate that he is responsible for 9/11 in any way outside of his carelessness towards intelligence is preposterous. If there is one thing that one can say about Bush is that despite all his faults on seemingly every issue, at least he means well when it comes to terrorism and human life. It’s ridiculous to say that he blew up the World Trade Center, and it’s wrong to say, as Congressman Stark did, that Bush sends troops to die for his amusement. Why were no members of the military disciplined for the massive failure of our defenses on 9/11/2001?  I read that several colonels were relieved of duty over the recent incident where a B52 loaded with H-bombs flew over the U.S.

Why was no one relieved of duty over 9/11?  Is it because the likely defense that they were “only following orders” would have led to uncomfortable questions?

Maher is funny, in a sarcastic way, but he does not strike me as someone who excelled in hard subjects like math and science.  So, maybe he does not have the ability to understand that the buildings in NYC could not have done what they did unless there was an energy source besides fire and gravity.

Fire and gravity cannot blow a building to smithereens.
