‘Daily Show’: Bush as Cartoon VillainPosted on Oct 5, 2007
Yeah, so it sounded like a great idea—raise taxes on cigarettes in order to fund children’s health care initiatives—but apparently President Bush didn’t think so, as he hit Congress’ proposed SCHIP reauthorization bill with the veto stick on Wednesday. Thankfully, we have Jon Stewart to help us vent our collective frustration through the magic of satire. Follow this link to watch the clip. As long as we have humourous fake-opponents-to-Bush to keep us laughing, and we think that they truly oppose Bush, we won’t notice, much less mind, that they distract us from (Dem failure to question) Bush’s repeated loose-lips-sink-ships 9/11 statements, in which he let slip that there’d been prior knowledge of the ‘surprise’ ‘secret’ ‘terrorist’ attack at the highest level of the U.S. government.
(Note that the 911 truthiness movement tries to get people to pay no attention to Bush’s confessions, but even the U.S. government acknowledges that visual images were transmitted to the limo that morning at the time in question...)
