Stewart Critiques Petraeus’ Performance

Posted on Sep 12, 2007
Daily Show

Boy, has it ever been a tough week to be Gen. David Petraeus!  First he had to face the congressional firing squad with only a flimsy array of stats to substantiate his insistent refrain, delivered in wooden monotone, that the surge in Iraq just might, maybe, someday, sort of work.  Then, his performance was cheerfully and mercilessly picked apart by Jon Stewart.

My favorite line:\

“I’ve been deployed for a long time also.”

Ha ha ha ha ha!  How many times have you been hit general?

U R A total asshole.  Why don’t you go do what you do best, and don’t contaminate this site? What is that, you say? Watching little boys.  Go to your “favorite” playground and fantasize about your chances.
May the most painful and inhuman things happen to you, and yours, in the future.  Do the most beneficial thing you could do for America, kill yourself, you deficient piece of wasted human flesh.  And, oh yeah, have a nice day.
To you regular commenters on this site…I’M BACK !!
And I apologize for my attitude with Diessner, but the dude, and his kind, brings out the venom I feel.

This regime is based on being a Bush boy or you are out.  Look at all the past Generals that disagreed with Bush ...gone.  Bush wishes to be King/Dictator and he is close to just that because we are all waiting him out to afraid to be counted.

We need to man-up and start resisting the Bush bull… or we only have ourselves to blame later.  Do you really want to sit back and watch him bomb Iran and then wash his hands of the mess?

Should we call him General Portrayus? Like it or not, we are all a little responsible for the fact that this cartoon character is sucking up our tax dollars.

I’d forgotten how sanguine about Iraq General Betrayass was just before the 2004 presidential elections. It would be neat to see comparisons of General Betrayus and General Westmoreland as they each lied through their teeth to screw the American people, kill and maim more grunts and pad the pockets of the military money machine. My guess is the two would be hard to tell apart.

Stewart and company are among the most artful—yes, even at times eloquent—commentators on the Bush Fiasco there are.  Fantastic.  No wonder so many people rate this show as their “top” source of news.

Thank God for the Daily Show.  Its about the only mainstream show out there that really drives home the level of absurdity that we have all been subjected to over the course of this presidency.

Admiral Fallon said Petreaus is an ass-kissing, little chickensh*t.

We have to keep in mind that Petreaus gave us rosy pictures in the past, of the work he was doing.  Of particular interest was his training of Iraqi security forces in 2004.  Later these forces turned into death squads that became the reason for the surge.

In an interview with Hugh Hewitt about a month ago, Petraeus said he had no evidence Iran was undermining the US effort.  Now in his testimony he seems to be pointing many fingers at Iran for the violence in Iraq.
