Bill Maher’s Summer Vacation

Maher

The “Real Time” host returns with a look back on the summer, full of the usual barbs like this gem about the Democrats’ FISA capitulation: “Yes the Democrats in Congress took advantage of a deeply unpopular lame duck president by caving into his every whim and agreeing to allow the attorney general to spy on Americans without a warrant.”

After eagerly awaiting the return of Bill Maher to HBO,I felt very let down with the first show. The microphones ont he set in Ohio didn’t work properly even with the tv turn up to 100.Thank goodness for closed captioning, even that misses a lot.I was hoping that you would have brought up the bill Bush signed July 17 and the one he just snuck thru before all the part time polititions took off for August. The fact that Bush wants to invade Iran is a given, the refusal to impeach Bush, there was so much that could have been used but wasn’t. If your next show is a dissappointment I may cancel my HBO. I only keep it to watch your show and this being off/on is not a good thing, there is enough to keep you on every week. And after you came back last time there were several rerun shows, starting on the 4th weeks show, totally unacceptable. Bill you need to get you shit together,as the hippies said in the 70’s.

I am a Democrat who is ready to separate with the progressives if they leave.  I absolutely cannot believe that these Congressional Democrats 1-REFUSE to impeach a president who has literally broken so many laws that we probably couldn’t even civer them all in a trial....2-they have rubberstamped Bush.....they scream and cry but it is now the Republicans who are going to end the war.....they have funded and refunded AND signed up for FiSA to which they say has no limits for the “president.” 3-And, we have candidates who say that they would bomb Iran!!! Clinton, Biden 4-and NOBODY talks about imprisonment for war crimes.

Look, we have a part of the party who is really the left end of conservatism.  It is splitting the party because the progressives are demanding that they break their ties with corporations and come clean.

It is killing our political system to keep this campaign financing system.

We do not need a complicated plan......$1 donation from individuals and $5 donation from corporations.  THAT SIMPLE....EQUAL air time and that is that!

Once the Viet Nam war was declared over, how long did it take to get our people out....a day?!?!  WE ARE THE PROBLEM IN IRAQ.  WE HAVE CAUSED INCREDIBLE PAIN TO THE IRAQI CITIZEN.  BRING THEM HOME NOW!!!
If you had a toothache due to a piece of food stuck in it, you remove the food.  WE ARE THE PIECE OF FOOD IN IRAQ.  SHAME ON THE REST OF THE WORLD FOR STANDING BY AS WE ATTEMPT TO GRAB THE HEART OF OIL AWAY FROM THEM.

To JimBob,
Nobody puts Bill in a rut…
Don’t forget the mantra of the fascist right, if you keep repeating it often enough, it is finally accepted as truth.
Only difference is that Bill is telling truths while the right wind is spent on non-truths.

Hey, Bill ...

‘C’mon bro!  The Iraqui Parliament is taking August off whilst American boys are getting blowed up by those extraterrestrial bomb-things.  Good ole’ “W” is becoming the Barry Bonds of summer vacations, leaving brain-pudding Ronnie R. behind in the dust.  (Last I heard it was 415 days to 435, closing fast with lots of time to go).

We miss you over the summer.  Progressives can’t afford to take vacations.  We have to work on the assembly lines, in the fields and sweat shops, teach in the Liberal, Pinko, Commie Faggot Universities, and dig our ditches through the hot summer months to put food in our kids’ mouths.  If we take a second job, we might even be able to pay for healthcare through one of those rapacious HMO’s.

So get off your skinny honky butt and get back to work.  We miss you. wink

It’s true Bill does seem to be going over the same territory but it is necessary to keep the light shinning on theses cockroaches.  Our attention span is a little short just like our memory.  This is how these guys operate so effectively.  They know they can say and do anything they want because the voters will not remember!  Less then a year and a half to go now, we really need to keep focused on what’s important--getting our voices heard and restoring our Constitution, and it’s not going to be easy or quick......

Bill Maher, regrettably, has become a broken record.  We all know Bush is an idiot.  Bill really needs to come up with new material.  He had a special on HBO last night (I think he was in Florida?) with a very small crowd, either hand-picked—or, I suppose, self-selected—who thought every dopey thing Bush does is worth a big laugh.

Maher is a smart, funny guy.  But he’s WAY down in a rut.
