Public libraries, running water, gas, electricity, a no brainer on the internet. same thing. of course, we have to band together on this one because it was Al Gore who pushed for internet legislation, as with Liveearth, as with Inconvenient Truth and I’m guessing this will be the button that will finally galvanize US citizens to “sit-ins” “Assembly” “Peaceful Protest” where is MLK when you need him? We the People are MLK--United.

A brief quote from the infamous PNAC document\"rebuilding America’s Defenses,” which lists their primary objectives:
“CONTROL THE NEW “INTERNATIONAL COMMONS” OF SPACE AND “CYBERSPACE,”

I’m currently building a small online business and I’m worried that if net neutrality is overturned that would make my website (currently in development) uncompetitive because of proposed “toll roads”.
There are many legitimate small business web sites out there that meet a market demand or help people solve a problem. Don’t impede that growth.
I have plans to grow my enterprise into a substantial business but I’m worried that growth could be slowed, or stopped, by big government hand outs to large corporations.
It is true that America needs to speed up its Internet highway. But Internet “toll roads” are not the way to do it.
That said, this affects the public forum too. Not just liberals. But it would affect free conservative and religious speech too.

If I had a dollar for every petition I signed prior to Halliburton’s War, or a buck for every time I signed a petition demanding that Bushler close down the secret torture shops and Guantanamo.....
Petitions? The post-Ike Republicans use them for toilet paper, and they guffaw while they’re wiping.
And my best wishes to the more astute among you, who upon reading the sentence just above said to themselves: “Republicans WIPE? Since when?!”

Sign the Petition—Don’t Let Congress Ruin the Internet
Right now Congress is being pushed to abandon the First Amendment of the Internet—a principle called “network neutrality” that preserves the free and open Internet. Congress needs to hear from you today or they will hand over control of what you do online to companies like AT&T;, Verizon and Comcast.
Politicians are trading favors for campaign donations from these companies. They’re being wooed by people like AT&T;’s CEO, who says “the Internet can’t be free.” Sign this petition to tell your elected representatives to protect Internet freedom now. When you fill out the information and push submit, we will automatically send it to your Members of Congress.
