Ann Coulter fielded a call-in by Elizabeth Edwards on MSNBC’s “Hardball” Tuesday night as Coulter sat with host Chris Matthews in front of a gaggle of young voters to discuss the ‘08 campaign.  Needless to say, Mrs. Edwards was none too thrilled with Coulter’s recent (and past) comments about her husband and family.

Watch the clip:

Are there any serious comments from the right?  Do Ann Coulter supporters really believe what she says, or do they just enjoy her rude comments?  Or do they not listen to what she says and simply enjoy looking at the long blond hair and little black dress?
As a general comment: it’s difficult to understand some of the posts due to poor spelling/grammar and use of jargon.  It would be simpler to have productive discussions if people would simply say what they mean.

Question:  What do John Roberts, Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Antonin Scalia and America’s Eva Braun aka Ann Coulter all have in common?

Answer:  They are all members of the radically subversive Federalist Society, which was founded by Judge Robert Bork (the guy who did Nixon’s bidding in firing special prosecutor Archibald Cox in an event that became known as the Saturday Night Massacre and who later was denied confirmation to the Supreme Court because of his radically subversive judicial philosophy) and which is funded, in part, by Richard Mellon Scaife, heir to the Mellon banking and oil fortune and a supporter of hard-right think tanks.

“Unitary Executive” theory which was first advanced by Alito in 1985 lies at the core of this radical group and forms the underpinning foundation for the more than 1000 presidential signing statements is a theory shared by all of these “radicals in robes”.  Under “Unitary Executive” theory it is meaningless to ask whether the president is above the law.  Under this view, the president “is” the law.

I was for John before this and even in ‘04 primaries. Now, I’m really for him! I only hope this shows just how far the MSM will go to stop him from being the next president!

Wow . . . I don’t know if I have ever seen someone so full of herself for no reason.  I thought it was amazing that Elizabeth Edwards was so very composed, respectful and RIGHT - and Ann Coulter was just . . . well, stupid.  Maybe not much else needs to be said - she made an ass out of herself.  I didn’t once hear Elizabeth Edwards ask Coulter to refrain from writing her useless books - of wait, they’re not useless . . . we still need coasters and couch legs for utility purposes.  It is interesting how “free speech” has mutated into acceptable slander. Let history forget Ann Coulter.  What a waste of space. Yikes.

Shut the *&%! up. You’re just embarrassing yourself. The vile and vicious Mannthrax Coulter “sexy”? Democrats “anti-Christian”? Time for your meds—and then a time-out. If you’re going to “post” again, try engaging your reptilian brain first.

Amazing what the reich-wingers have done to our country.

I agree with Kevin99999 ; the night Ms. Coulter was on Hardball I was really hoping Keith Olbermann would name Matthews as at least a runner-up for “Worst Person in the World” for giving her air time and allowing her to be rude and abusive to Mrs. Edwards. Maybe it’s too much to ask anybody to bite the hand that feeds…

I really admire the brains and the guts of Elizabeth Edwards.
John Edwards is the only one of the Big 3 Democrats not taking PAC/Corporate dollars.  Progressive Publications—Progressive Populist, & the Progressive, to which I subscribe, give him the highest marks of the Big 3. Edwards wins the poll in Daily Kos.
I hope he can stay in the game with only grassroots support from small individual donors.

ANN COULTER SENTENCED!
by Indigent Riter
(satire, unh-huh)

Just got off my iFon with the new-and-improved Pahree. She says her friend A/C suffers from the mother of all HOE ... Hard-On Envy. Judge Pahree sentenced A/C to 90-days bathing elderly men in the grand Viagra Convalescent Testing Center.

When asked about her sentence, the multikazillionaire celebrity coiled into the foetal position hissing hysterically. While interviewer Neil Cavuto whorled with appall, the new-and-improved Pahree stated, “The healing has begun.”

Bill Maher exclaimed on his HBO show, “Now there’s a lofty campaign I would woody up to… Getting it all warmed up, A/C. See you in HOE therapy!”

Ms. A/C’s sentence is to be Tom-Delayed however until another sufferer, Mister The-Dick Cheney, is admitted later this year.

Where is the Secret Service?  Shouldn’t they be having a talk with Ann about how it’s a really BAD thing to advocate the murder of someone they are protecting?  I doubt any liberal could get away with that kind of inflammatory talk without a serious visit from the SS, FBI, Homeland Security, IRS, etc.

I understand Mrs. Edwards frustration with this sychophant’s rants, about her husband and family. My question is; Why even give this deranged person the time of day? Remember that during the Clinton years in the White House, this shemale was part of the special prosecuters team that was tasked to spread their bile in-order to influence public opinion against the Clinton’s. If I’m not mistaken, I beleive they were called the Elves. De-Javu; the troubling thing that I saw, before I used my remote, was how many people were claping on her every word. That is scary; because this miscreants’ main motivation, is to sell books and enrich it self. There are many ugly and tormented souls on our planet. The antidote is, don’t give them an odeince and they wither away like the Wicked Witch in the Wizered Of Oz movie and play.

To my mind, narrow-minded, shallow, hateful, manipulative people like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Jim O’Reilly, et al, are the embodiment of what the Republican party has become.  “Conservative” has almost become a dirty word in our lexicon, as proven by the last election.

But what I fail to understand is why—although these media pinheads pander to a minority of Americans (the non-free thinking right wingers)—shows like Al Franken’s don’t do as well as those of these insipid hate-mongers.

What does that tell us?  Well, I, for one, would like to believe it’s because the liberals don’t need these pathetic spokepersons to shape their thoughts and opinions for them. That they have the intelligence to make up their own minds.

It’s people like the afore-mentioned media nitwits who perpetuate the hate and distrust.

I’m hoping in the next election that, despite all the vitriolic outpouring from these neo-con fat-heads, the Texas Twit will be taking ALL of his Republican congressional cronies with him when he leaves office.  Then, perhaps, we can make real progress in congress and begin to undo the damage this simple-minded despot has caused to our reputation around the world, as well as the deep divisions he’s caused in this country, and put us back on track, in a forward-moving direction.

I agree with Elizabeth Edwards.  I won’t vote for her husband, though.  Too conventional in his “faith based” thinking, not progressive.

Coulter takes a series of cheap, shallow shots. You’re a media gimmick Ann, an empty skirt at the end of a keyboard. What’s that like?

In another time and space, she’d be a floor manager at WalMart stealing overtime and mixing her RedBull w/vodka.
Today she’s the court appointed designated driver on a drunken tour of hell on Earth.
The media is not our friend, they no longer report, they choreograph and Coulter is their concubine.

Find Coulter sexy?

That makes you a perverted maochist, or a certified moron.

Or both.

Seriously: it goes without saying that ann coulter is garbage.

The issue is indeed her appeal, i.e. to haters who, needless to add, hate themselves first and foremost.

Anyone with a grain of self-respect would be ashamed to come from the same country as this spiteful, profoundly stupid, irritating, robotic creature.

I would bet that 99% of her fans weigh more than 200 pounds, earn less than 15k annually, live in non-houses, and don’t read so good.

I’, pretty sure they hate everone who is skinny, has their teeth, and went to college - exception: AC herself!

Here are some classics from America’s Eva Braun aka Ann Coulter:  “I think the government should be spying on all Arabs, engaging in torture as a televised sport, dropping daisy cutters wantonly throughout the Middle East and sending liberals to Guantanamo.”  Appearing on CNBC on Feb. 7, 2005, when discussing whether the U.S. military was targeting journalists, the testy Coulter remarked, “Would that it were so!”  In a Jan. 10, 2005 article, Coulter was quoted:  “I’m getting a little fed up with hearing about, oh, ‘civilian’ casualties.  I think we ought to nuke North Korea right now just to give the rest of the world a warning.”  In “Cruel and Unusual” Mark Crispin Miller quotes Coulter’s earlier remarks at a right-wing conference:  “We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed too.”

Imus makes an inappropriate remark and he is appropriately fired.  Why does the media continue to give voice to America’s Eva Braun?  Because she advances the goal of the corporatocracy.

Oh, and tsaal hio—at a site like Truthdig it is helpful when someone provides some “intellectual” content.  That requires use of a brain.  You won’t be using your brain if the only thing that counts in your case is to be found beneath your belt line.

to tsaal hio: it’s really pathetic that what you look for in politics is sex appeal. you’re terrifically shallow. grow up.

to ann coulter: you are an embarassment to politics, to your party, and to women. all you do is attack people with hate and make a profit on it. that’s a lot lower than a family that tries to make a positive influence in people’s lives. even if you don’t agree with the Edwards’ fundraising methods there are better ways to get your point across that don’t include these lame “shock value” publicity stunts.
