Kids Say the Darndest ThingsPosted on Jun 12, 2007
Chances are your elementary school education about how the federal government works (or doesn’t) wasn’t much like the schooling of these L.A.-area public school students. Perhaps some big players on Capitol Hill might want to drum up their own hip-hop-inflected response to the key issues addressed here in “Showdown in the Senate.” Watch it here: Elsewhere: . Loved it!!!!!!!!! Exceptionally well done and congrats! to all who worked so well on this. May you all and it appears you already do have the backbone to stand up for whats right and just for human rights. Don’t lose that backbone for in the future we will need citizens like you to replace the spineless in our government.

In return to comment #77585-
I was in the video, and my mom was a lawyer, so I that I’d know a thing or 2 about Habeas Corpus.
Habeas Corpus-Latin for have the body. There are many forms of Habeas Corpus,
But the writ of Habeas Corpus, guarentees the rights to a trial to see your accusor, and to know why you’ve been accused.
Magna Carta-Latin for great document. It was originated in 1215, when some English Noblemen kidnapped King John, took him to Runnymeade, an island on the Thames river, and forced him to sign the Magna Carta. The Magna Carta Guarentees that the King had to get the consent of Parliament before he can take land or money, and no one could be put in jail without a fair trial, among other things.
Take that you misinformed pontificator!

Why is it so hard to see that the spying bushco does is on just such people as these senators and congressmen, so they can flip them to their position with just one meeting behind closed doors.

I don’t believe for a minute these kids have a clue about what they’re saying.
Maybe I should’ve listened until the end but my ears started bleeding.

It looks like these kids were taught some truth for a change. We need more teachers willing to teach out side of the box and teach some truth. This will be something they remember forever. Hooray for this brave educator.

Thanks kids, I was just fuming over the pervasive apathy in America wondering which foreign government we could implore invade K-Street and Capitol Hill then return our government to the American people. Perhaps that democratic army lies in Lady Liberty’s youngest right here at home. Thanks for the moment of hope.
