Americans Want Timetable for IraqPosted on May 10, 2007
According to Gallup, a majority of Americans disapprove of the way all parties involved are handling Iraq, though the Dems got slightly better numbers than Bush or congressional Republicans. Most Americans want some kind of timetable, and a huge majority wants benchmarks for progress. Watch it: Advertisement CommentsAre you a Truthdig member yet? Login now, or register with Truthdig. This quote explains Iraq and the last six nightmarish years.
Bush-Bones Doctrine:
Theres three things to remember: claim everything, explain nothing, deny everything.
-Senator Prescott Bush (Skull & Bones 1917)
This quote explains how theyve gotten away with 9/11 - so far.
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State. -Joseph Goebbels.
Another fake terror attack and martial law is coming:

Why dont we have everyone who is in favor of keeping our troops there get a tax increase to cover the war. A “war tax”. Whoever (senators or congressmen included) is voting for the war to continue should pay for it out of their own pocket, along with whoever put these guys in office. Hey if they need funding for the war, they must have the income to support it. (I’d rather have my taxes go to my childrens education and health, can you imagine what this amount of money could do for all of our childrens future?!) That way if all the people who wanted the war could pay for the war and not have to deal with this deadline/benchmark sillyness that they hate. If they want it, let them pay for it.

The quickest way to get out of Iraq is to impeach the president of VICE—Dick Cheney. (support HR 333 - articles of impeachment)

What many people seem to feel uneasy about are the same kinds of scenes we saw on TV when the US pulled out of Vietnam.
There was a rapid collapse of the South Vietnamese Army and government as the last Americans exited from the roof of the American embassy.
Still, that is no reason to avoid setting timetables to get out of this terrible mess that the Bush-Cheney administration and their supporters have created.
The comparisons of Iraq to Vietnam and the social effects here at home related to Iraq and Vietnam are many, including the “breaking” of the US Army, disabled and troubled vets suffering from PTSD, thousands of innocent civilians being killed and injured in the war zone, on and on ...
