Weekly Video RoundupPosted on Mar 16, 2007
Our collection of favorite videos this week includes Sen. Chuck Schumer nailing the Bush administration on the firing of U.S. attorneys, the Discovery Channel drooling over a weapon that kills Americans, and “The Simpsons” dressing down Fox News. No. 1: Discovery Channel Shows Off Penetrator Bomb One of the weapons used with devastating effect against U.S. forces in Iraq is the so-called explosively formed penetrator, which the administration has accused Iran of producing. Astonishingly, the Discovery Channel recently aired a puff piece that delightedly showed off such a bomb, complete with a demonstration of how effective the compact device was against armored military targets. Watch it: No. 2: Schumer Ties Bush to U.S. Attorney Scandal Advertisement Watch it: No. 3: ‘Simpsons’ Nails Fox News “The Simpsons” has never shied away from biting the hand that feeds it. In this classic clip, the show eviscerates Fox News in what may be the greatest ever indictment of the network. It’s worth watching multiple times just to take in the “crawl.” Watch it: New and Improved CommentsIf you have trouble leaving a comment, review this help page. Still having problems? Let us know. I have tuned across that Discovery Channel show while looking for Mythbusters. From just the few minutes I’ve seen, it’s appalling. The host practically has an orgasm during every weapon test.

the presenter of the krakatoa piece was a prime example of everything that’s wrong with tv presenting. i mean who told this guy an obnoxious sneer was a good idea? and the script…whoa, such command of the language? i mean, was this salivating fellow getting some kind of sexual thrill watching this penetrating explosive charge…well, explode? someone, adjust that man’s medication and keep him off the tv screen. he’s scaring my cat.

That Discovery Channel Program sounded like a classic piece of neo Nazi propaganda.

I’d better watch Simpsons than look at Alberto Gonzales face because I’d be constipated and in need of laxatives.
