she was great in dobie gillis, and she’s the type of representative we need.
unfortunately, today’s audiences couldn’t understand dobie gillis’ sophisticated humor ( maynard was an ” existentialist “!), and too many don’t understand her brilliant health care proposal.

It’s the same problems decade after decade… several years ago, Congress appointed a committee to investigate the Health Care System and their findings were that there is no system and it needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. And here we are still.

I’m so glad that you gave Sheila Kuehl a forum to discuss her bill SB840.

I wished Robert Scheer would remember to mention SB840 or the bill before congress HR676 next time the subject of Healthcare is brought up on “Left, Right, and Center”.

The two biggest obstacles to getting one of the of these bills past is the public’s lack of awareness and the disinformation put out by the insurance industry and their lackeys.

A universal health care system directly addresses the rapid disintegration of our health delivery infrastructure.

First, the bill redirects nearly $30 billion dollars annually away from administrative and other waste into direct health care delivery.  This provides an influx of money into the delivery system that will be necessary to rebuild our infrastructure.

Second, SB 840 calls for a system wide evaluation of our existing health care infrastructure including both the capital and workforce infrastructure, something that has never before been done.  This kind of evaluation is critical in order to begin to understand how to attack the many problems inherent in our current system.

SB 840 then requires the system to direct health care resources to address the gaps in workforce and capital infrastructure in order to improve the delivery system for everyone.

All of the plans so far assume that what is needed is access to care.

But just giving access to care will not solve the problem of health care.

Because in the last 20 years there has been an unprecedented decline in infrastructure, both in hospitals, and health care providers.

Sure everyone will get health care under Ms Cruels, plan but where will they go for treatment?

Without a large investment in infrastructure, just giving everone access to care, will only result in a bumper crop of fly by night health clinics whose only goal will be to swindle the government out of health care dollars, and the people out of treatment.

The Governor has big muscles but not big brain !

California must have an excellent leader and will not need big biceps.
