to the Comment #58482 by skam !! that’s total crap !! oil is the lib smoke screen, the reason we are at war in Iraq and soon to be Iran is because of inter-nation Islamic extremism and wholesale violence in the mid east that’s been going on for 30yrs !! oil is the reason we haven’t acted sooner !!

Im pretty sure Stephen Colbert is involved with Captain America’s death and that you will see him enter as a villain soon or as the new Captain America, who knows!

well, the reason why we are at war is because we need to protect saudi oil wells from iranian influence.  we need to cause discontent in the middle east to keep oil prices high so when georgie gets out of office, he will have a nice check to live off of.

how does it feel to lose your sons and daughters overseas for nothing?

Didn’t I tell you Colbert was now “Captain America”? He’s even inherited the “Captain America” shield ...

So take that! You pinko subversive lefty commies!
Watch out! “Captain America” is on the case.

Hide your wallets.

Mr. Colbert, I bow to your eminence.

Christopher Robin has it right—Stephen Colbert IS Captain America, and he has the shield to prove it.

to the comment by Comment #58330 by tyler ?? did you bother to read what i wrote ??? i mean you don’t have to but if your going to comment on it you should have read it ??? first of all any fool knows Japan attacked us at Pearl Harbor !! that’s my point Germany did not nor did Romania nor did Italy but we went to war with all !!! i was mimicking what the libs of today would sound like in 1943 you apparently did not understand that !!  and as far as the D-Day hero’s go ??? now that i think about it ?? Bastard was not a good word to use but i have nothing but respect and admiration for our soldiers of every generation !! i called them poor bastards cause they were ordered to almost certain death !!! and they “jumped ” with out question !!! 9000 died in just one day and it was a great victory !! we lose 3000 in 4 yrs of fighting in Iraq and you call that a failure ???

if you cant understand what i meant in that’s simple post ?? then i mean no offense ?? but its no wonder you are having difficulty with complexities of our war on Islamic extremist !!! don’t fool yourself Tyler the country might not be as motivated as we were in WW II but the enemy is just as deadly in the long run !!! when you factor in there suicide religious cult !! and the nexus of WMD ??? we are in a fight for the future of mankind !! whether you want to be or not !!

Your contempt for those who gave their lives in WWII is startling.  ‘Poor bastards’? You’re a real patriot.  WWII was a war against a tyrant and ideology that struck the first blow, and was attempting and achieving hostile take over of other countries.  Iraq DID NOT attack the U.S.!! (You might not be aware of this either, but it was the japanese forces that attacked pearl harbor, not the germans.  Again, another amazing tid-bit of info you can find in these amazing things we call BOOKS)  If you want the blood of the people who plotted and carried out 9/11, Iraq is the wrong tree to go barking up.  I’m not saying that Saddam wasn’t a bad guy, but neither he nor anyone in his government ordered the attack on the towers.  Go look in saudi arabia if its blood you want.  The war in iraq is more about politics and money than it is about vengeance for 9/11.  Pre-emptive strikes?  Disregard for habeous corpus?  Where is the honor in that kind of warfare?  Throwing our men and women in uniform, under-armed no less, into a war meant to generate profits for those in control (ie. haliburton) is what the questions are for jeff.  Accountability, checks and balances are what the questions are for.  Asking questions is what that led to a significantly large number of representatives, and roughly 70% of the public to change their stance on the war, or haven’t you heard?  Oh ye of blind faith.

About Comment #58109 by tyler, Hello again,

yes, you are correct, i haven’t read the comic !!! but i plan too, now that there has been such a to-do about it !! anyway, i take the FOX news stance and say ??? why kill Captain America in a time of war ?? we need more patriotic hero’s not less !! so what ever reason they give in the story line it really doesn’t matter they are still killing off Captain America !! for shame !!

yes i do love my country !!  and i know that’s a crime to some on these pages !! and if the Commander and Chief asked me to jump off a bridge?? and by doing so it would help win us the “war on terror” than by all means its over the side i go!!! do you think the poor bastards on D-Day who were in the first wave were happy about charging the beach into sure death??  the president told them to jump, and they jumped !!! we are at war Tyler, war is death, and killing, its ugly, but once we decide to go (as in the President, Congress, people did in March 2003) then the questioning stops !! until the war is won, and over !!! what would have happened in WW II if we acted like we are acting today ??? the Axis Powers would have won the war !!! that’s what !!!  i can hear it now “the Germans didn’t attack us at Pearl Harbor, this is an illegal war, the war is lost,  we should make a treaty with the axis powers, Roosevelt is a criminal who planed Pearl Harbor. Hitler did nothing wrong” !!!! sound familiar ??? talk like that would have gotten people in big trouble in 1943 !!  no Tyler our country has gone feckless and borders on outright treason !! when bullets are flying men are dying the debate should be over !!! and Hero’s like Captain America should not be killed off !!

When you say tolerance, do you mean ignorance?  You have, i’m afraid, fallen victim to the foolery of the bush admin by accepting their calls for ‘blind patriotism’, which means to say you believe anything that they will feed you as long as its ‘in america’s best interest’.  God bless america indeed.  Try selling that to the tens of thousands of people losing their lives in iraq, both iraqi and american.  If george bush called you and told you to jump off a bridge and said it would help the ‘war on terror’, would you do it?  We live in a democracy jeff, where it is the right and responsibility of the public to question and hold accountable the actions of our elected officials.  So when the president leads the country in to a war based on proven lies and deciept, why is it treasonist to question his decisions and motivations?  I think its quite a bit more treasonist to lie to an entire country and use hard earned tax dollars to seek out financial gain for corrupt cronies.  Oh, and the captain america thing, you say he’s your favorite avenger, yet from the sounds of it haven’t been following the story line.  Do you know why he was killed?  I’ll tell you it wasn’t because the ‘leftist’ authors wanted to piss off the right wing conservatives.  Go pick up a copy and read it, comic books i’m sure would be right up your alley, they’re easy to read and have pictures too!

Here he is again…illgramaticus…just make it up as you go.  Such things as events and chronologies, and other such fact-based artifacts, mean nothing to these people.  In this case, demagoguery, projection and really bad Latin grammar…the sum of it all.

about the Comment #57662 by Jesse, i agree whole heartily in a free press, in questioning power and everything else this country stands for !!! but, that also means those using such freedoms can go to far and be horribly wrong!  then its also our duty, to tell those calling out leaders Nazis, and rooting for the enemy in war, its our duty to call them traitors and tell them there wrong!!  you never hear me say shut down freedom of expression!! i just say that your expression is wrong !! hollywierd is wrong, modern pop culture has it wrong, and saying so is my right too !!! its the left who wants to silence the right as in FOX of Rush Limbaugh or Ann Coulter or the movie the “Passion” (movie was horrible)

its the left that need a lesson in tolerance lately !!

look Jesse if you say that America is a evil empire and Bush is a Hitler??  then i tell you your being a traitor for saying that in war time !!! you cant hide behind the Constitution and say i have no right to call you such or question your reason !!! “if you don’t like the heat? say out of the kitchen”

Pop-culture since the 50 has been sliding more and more anti-USA !!!

and far as jingoism is concerned it means a flag waving patriotic nationalist supporter ! like my beloved Capt. America’s name and costume, I’m going to miss Cap.!! he was my favorite Avenger !!

Have you looked up the definition of jingoism?  Ok I will- extreme patriotism, esp. in the form of aggressive or warlike foreign policy.  How about propaganda?  Ok it’s easy -  chiefly derogatory information, esp. of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view.  Why do you want jingoism and propaganda to return?  Making movies that are contradictory to state policy is not treason.  Try reading up on some of the history that your attacking others for being so ignorant of, such as the founding leaders of this country and their avid and enthusiastic support for dissent and questioning of war, politics, and state power.  Here is one from the Republican party given by Abraham Lincoln.  “This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it.  Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it.” That was in a large speech by the way.  I don’t see propaganda and jingoism fitting into any of the founding leaders thought processes.

how shameful !!! a mainstay of my childhood Marvel Comics is killing off Capt. America ??? you never can be sure in the sci-fi comics world ?? but if true it really doesn’t surprise me ??  a jingoistic hero like Capt America doesn’t sit well with today treasonous left wing artist !!

i recently tivo’ed WW II movies on my DVR to run a search for me to see if i wanted to watch any of the “jingoistic Pro American propaganda of a bygone era !! and i was flooded with almost 100 movies most made in the war years all Pro American propaganda !!

what is Hollywierd turning out today ??? anti-America propaganda all !! then they tell you its just entertainment ??? if so why the uproar about the “Passion”?? because they know there movies infect the views of the masses !! especially those who don’t know about history !! Oliver Stone is a perfect example !! from M.Moore to Jane Fonda to Harry Belifonte all (not to mention Gangster Rap ) are perfect examples of what has become the sad state of lib influenced pop-culture !!

killing off Capt America is just the tip of the iceberg in America’s popular culture a pop-culture run by ultra-lib left wings treasonous wackos all !!
