Keith Olbermann takes aim at Newt Gingrich for blaming residents of New Orleans for the devastation of Katrina, “comedian” Rush Limbaugh for suggesting that Barack Obama could own Al Sharpton because of their ancestry, and, of course, Ann “Coultergeist” for calling John Edwards “that name.”

Is this our—the left’s—answer to the buffoons on the right?  OlberMANN turns around and does the same thing to Coulter (who I think just might be evil incarnate) that she did to Edwards: he tries to undermine her with gender politics designed to keep women in their place.  Coulter is a foul-mouthed, poor excuse for a human being, and OlberMANN is trying to fill her shoes.

Newt has the compassion level of Dick Cheney. He divorced one of his wives by serving her with papers while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer. And of course he was cheating on his second wife while trying to impeach Bill Clinton for moral transgressions.

“I’m happy to learn that after I speak you’re going to hear from Ann Coulter. That’s a good thing. I think it’s important to get the views of moderates.”

That was Mit Romney in his CPAC speech—he meant “moderate” as a joke, of course, and got laughter from the crowd.

http://www.redstate.com/stories/special_events/romneys_speech_conservatives_take_heart

And the American Conservative Union prints:

“‘Ann Coulter is known for comments that can be both provocative and outrageous. That was certainly the case in her 2007 CPAC appearance and previous ones as well. But as a point of clarification, let me make it clear that ACU and CPAC do not condone or endorse the use of hate speech,’ said David A. Keene, ACU Chairman.”

But should not fool anyone. Why was she invited? For entertainment? Just for laughs?

These people are clearly unrepentent bigots.

Would Newt blame the victoms in Darfur for being so defenseless? Also, he’s probably angry at Iraqis for their failure to have any WMD.

In two of the three comments Olbermann tackles, race is a primary topic: “the people of New Orleans” (black people) and the Obama-Sharpton “joke” by Limbaugh (which actually combines two recent news topics about their ancestors and slavery).

Interestingly, these dovetail with yet another news item this week, covered by TruthDig.com, about the main Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma voting to remove blacks, or “freedmen,” from the rolls of official tribal membership.

These news stories, discussions and rants by media personalities show that race is a big issue and one that has very complex factors in American history and today.

The article referenced below about the recent Cherokee tribal election and blacks might provide some insight or food for thought on these subjects:

“Who is a Cherokee? Many Americans have Indians in the family tree”
