Weekly Video Roundup

This week’s collection of Truthdig-flavored videos includes a hard look at the real Iraq; Fox News’ smear campaign against Barack Obama; and the gayest place John Amaechi has ever seen.

No. 1: The Real Iraq

Britain’s Channel 4 News highlights the images and stories from Iraq that have been left out of mainstream news reporting.

Watch it:

No. 2: Meet the Press for Idiots

Conan O’Brien’s team put together this 30-second howler. Watch it for the final scene.

Watch it

No. 3: Fox News Targets Obama

Documentarian Robert Greenwald has collected some of Fox News’ worst smears against Barack Obama, who sensibly responded to the attacks by freezing out Fox reporters. At the end of the video, Greenwald urges the Nevada Democratic Party, which plans to allow the “fair and balanced” network to host a debate, to do the same.

Watch it:

No. 4: Gay Former NBA Player Takes Maher Into the Locker Room

John Amaechi tells Bill Maher that NBA locker rooms are “the gayest places I have ever seen”—full of ostensibly macho guys primping and preening in front of each other.

“We should go ahead and vote every politician out of office that voted for this outrage.”

I’d like to amend that: “We should go ahead and vote every politician out of office.”

I hate to say this, however, what did you expect?  War IS hell, that is why you should never, never, never wage it.  I spoke to many people who supported the war with this simple statement -lets see what you think when you see the body bags coming home.  When the bombings in London occured people were outraged, why?  Because white western people got killed, if a hundred eastern brown people get killed, well, that is the cost of war.  That is insane, pure insanity.  This is going on because WE allow it, stop buying the products that avertise on Fox News, if a religious leader says “bomb them in the name of the lord” stop sending them money, this is corporate america, they only listen to money.

We should go ahead and vote every politician out of office that voted for this outrage.

In Chicago in the late 70’s there was a snowstorm, shut the city down, the public was so enraged at the poor city sevices that they voted the mayor out in a big way, ever since then you bet whatever mayor is in office at the time makes sure the plows are out when it snows.  We have a mayoral election coming up this week, it snowed two weeks ago, they actually had city workers shoveling the sidewalks!  THAT is a leason in politics we need to teach the big boys and girls.

The corporate media is run by the"NEW WORLD
ORDER”’ people. Their plan is to mold us into
idiots.  To them the truth is dangerous and
creates a thinking population.  Thinking is
not in the plan.  The federal government has
gotten to big,and has taken power away from
state governments.  Whats happening in 1raq
is just part of the lie.  America is no longer
a country of the people.  We have lost our
country to the neo-cons; the zionest; and
to the federal reserve corporation.  We must
face reality and change back to a republic.
The federal governments power,by law,
should be Washington DC,10 miles around and
its territorys. Each state should be a country
with in itself. With a republic form of
government.  In 1913 congress gave its right
to control and distribute money to a group of
wolves called the FERDERAL RESERVE CORPOR-
ATION.  And since then we have been lied to
and tricked into inflation and wars around
the globe.  To them war is very profitable,
and controlling the people, with what should
be their own money,is the ultimate chess
game. The FEDS(as their called)create money
out of thin air, and its backed by nothing.
Then this private corporation,lends the
money to the US government that has the right,
and was given the responsibility,by the
constitution,to print and distribute the
peoples money thats backed by gold. The
biggest trick of all is that they also charge
the government interest to borrow its own
money.  Congress committed treason in 1913,
by allowing a private bank to do this to the
people. Lets take back our government.  The
first thing is to do away with the FEDERAL
RESERVE SYSTEM. Next the IRS CORPORATION.
We have god given rights. Let us stand
up and affirm them.

It way past the time for all of the world to see what is really happening in Iraq. I wish all networks would have the backbone to report and show the true devastation of this ill concieved pre-emptive war.
