What flavour was your Kool-Aide, Hugh? You should go back to Iraq, mate. Have a tall, icy glass every day. It will help you overlook the lies that got the U.S. into the war, and the fact that all this killing was not going on before the U.S. crashed in. As nasty as Saddam was, he wasn’t killing nearly as many people as are dying from the anarchy today. If you’re so serious about enforcing UN resolutions, when do you plan to attack Israel for flouting them, or Zimbabwe, or the United States, for that matter, because it ignores the UN.

I’ve been saying the U.S. was bad ever since March 2003, and I’m an American citizen for the moment. But my wife and I were lucky enough to emigrate to a civilised state, not a murder nation. And when the U.S. drops nukes on Iran, for disobeying some future UN resolution, I’ll burn my passport in front of the U.S. consulate here and apply for Aussie citizenship. Hope you’re proud of the evil that America does, cobber.

I am an American and so ashamed!- of all of you, not America.

Thoughtful process? Tell me- what the hell would YOU know about a thoughtful process in planning for a military operation there, General?

Say it together- it’s a mantra- America- Bad- Bad- America- Ohhmmmm- Ohhmmm-

Now America has all the oil, I guess. It’s all about oil. I bathe in oil now becuase I stole it when I was there. Bullshit. Like any of you have been there, with the people, with THEIR soldiers.

We should just leave and the world will be peaceful. The armed terrorists will hold picnics for the other groups they normally try to kill. The sky will be blue-er. Birds will sing more sweetly. Rivers will run with honey. Rock candy mountains! More bullshit. You are all so full of your sanctimonious selves.
I carried more dead bodies of my Iraqi friends killed by terrorists than I care to remember, to include body parts which had to be put in the “to whom this may belong” category. I had US and Iraqi friends killed and wounded. I lived with these fine people, put myself at real risk to save others, and to keep the innocent out of harms way. We fought a good fight against some real bastards - Murdering bastards who would laugh as they slice your heads off.

We helped a lot of people who knew only fear before we arrived. They still fear, but not us. Those who do fear us have reason to, and I have no apologies for that.

Show me the lies… Where I was, when we peeled back the onion on what had been going on, it went deeper than WMD. Define WMD, and since when is it a breach of intl law to enforce UN sanctions and cease fires? At what point do you tell someone who threatens to kick your ass, “Enough- I’m calling your bluff and kicking YOUR ass.”

I would go back again tomorrow. And yes, I would volunteer to go work with the Iraqis. They deserve a chance.  They are good people, like people everywhere. All I ask is that if I stand for them, they stand with me.

Oh- by the way- until I was sent there kicking and screaming, I hoped they would all kill each other and leave me out of it. God forgive me for that thought.

THE HORROR! THE HORROR!

The United States should be afraid, because what you do comes back on you. When the karmic blowback from what’s shown here,,, hits there,,, it’s going to be wicked. But it will all seem new to most Americans, because they didn’t see it coming. There were too busy watching “Idol.”

The program is clearly biased. Much of the violence is Iraqi against Iraqi,
with the well organised Sunni insurgents targeting civilians as well as
Iraqi officials. Yet the program concentrated on the occupation and
interviewed people who are fiercely anti-American. The cemetery featured in
the end is for Sunni insurgents only!
Ordinary Iraqis participated in the political process and helped bring about
the best and fairest constitution in the Arab world. Its the extremist
forces which created this bloodshed and not the occupation. People would be
fooling themselves if they believe its all the fault of the occupation.

For one man named Saddam, W created false WMD evidence, then bombed Iraq to stone age, killing thousands of GIs and hundreds of thousands iraqi civilians plus international condemnation.

Human lives, miseries, pain and suffering mean nothing to some of these so called christians, born again or not.

It is most unfortunate that the video clip and others like it are now recorded in world’s history books except US.

The question that should be in the for is where is the justice. Those responsible for the cynical implimentation of these crimes MUST BE PROSECUTED. After the neocon junta is serving 650,000 consecutive life terms for crimes against humanity and premediated mass murder, we can begin to make the always inadequate reparations but first these heinous criminals must be removed from power, and they must be removed asap before they can do even more damage!

I haven’t seen this much carnage since Vietnam, and I vowed then that I would do all I can to stop the madness of violence and war.  Nothing about America has changed. In fact it has gotten increasingly decadent and violent.

What a shame.  We have the means and no how to do so much good in the world and what do we do?  Squander our knowledge and resources on weapons and killing.  What a disgrace this country has become.  Peace…

Amazing, that’s all I can say about this. I feel like I’ve been kept in the dark. I always knew something wasn’t right about this war. Americans need to wake up and hold the media as well as the Bush administration accountable for this mess.

You see, if we let the American people know what’s really happening in Iraq, the terrorists win!  If everyone knew the reality and gravity of the situation, even less people would support this administration’s operation than already do.  Therefore, the government wouldn’t be able to continue the operation because there would be political upheaval and a subsequent changes made in power.  It would be like Somalia all over again.  They wouldn’t have free license to continue the occupation, and the neo-con’s war making powers would be limited by this pesky nuance to our political system called democracy.  So please keep the curtain drawn cuz the light’s too bright and I’m trying to sleep.  Let the government do what they do, and I’ll go about my day ignorant and happy as a pig.  So long as no one blows my ass up today, my government’s doin a hell of job.

Chickenhawk Cheney knows the people don’t have the stomach for the “dity work”.  And he’s right, because I’m too lazy to learn and too stupid to grasp the reasons for breaking international law, and the justifications for murdering a million people.  So, in a way, we should be thankful to Rumsfeld, Bush and Cheney for censoring our information, because had we known all along the actual situation without understanding the motives, we would have not other choice but to resist and protest their agenda, thereby rendering us all terrorists!  So I, for one, think we owe them who’ve never served in uniform a debt of gratitude for saving us from ourselves.  Thanks guys.  Go get those wolves while us sheep eat, sleep and shit ourselves into oblivion.

“It’s essential for government that we shouldn’t see such things”—and the big question is WHY?

What would happen if the death and suffering in Iraq, was shown each morning on the “Today Show” or “Good Morning America?”

What would happen if Katie Couric and the nightly news showed mutilated and tortured Iraqi bodies?

What would happen if Americans accurately saw the affects of the occupation on the hearts and minds of Iraqis?

What would happen if Americans saw the mutilated bodies of Iraqi Children?

What would happen if Americans saw rat infested VA hospitals?

What would happen if Americans saw armless and legless veterans forced to fend for themselves in the ice and snow to retrieve their healthcare benefits?

What would happen if Americans saw the bodies of veterans who committed suicide?

What would happen if Americans saw 500,000 homeless veterans sleeping on the streets and eating in soup kitchens?

No, it’s much more important for mainstream media to show each tiny crevice of Britney’s bald head, and Anna Nicole’s drug infested silicone tits.

How terribly tragic that such carnage should be visited upon the Iraqi people in America’s quest for oil and other riches.  And how tragic that much of the Western press is in collusion with the perpetrators and deny us the full story of what is happening.  But even if we don’t see the actual blood and mangled bodies, we should know that the American occupation and all the lies that lead to it are a crime against humanity.  One day, let us hold the instigators to account.

I am an American; I am sickened, horrified, and ashamed.  GWB proposed a doctrine of pre-emptive war in 2002, and without conscience the Congress authorized a war against Iraq. Our corporate media accepted without question or investigation the lies and talking points of the Bush government.  We still are shielded from the ugliness of the greed, war profiteering and destruction. I hope that one day the American people will turn from the pablum served them, but I fear that the “democracy” of this country has already been turned into a true and frightening fascist state.

Some network, maybe PBS, ought to think about broadcasting Channel 4 News’s international coverage in the USA.  Here in the UK we are very fortunate to have this fearless team daily attempt to get to the truth for its viewers.  Jon Snow, Alex Thomson Linsey Hilsum, Krishnan Gurra Murthry are all inqusitive, persistent and authoritative journalists.

Surely if the US had those images as they happened there would have been a much earlier and more effective backlash against this folly.

This video doesn’t even begin the justice as to the hundreds of body parts that lay in the streets.  Employ the worst neighborhood within your mind, align with mega trash on the streets.  Now replace same with body parts for the real truth in Iraq. They are littered upon all nooks.  The true damage is so filtered!

In the old days, when atomic bombs were freely detonated for the impressive show, many generals and military types got to observe the event. This show-and-tell stopped when someone noted that when even the most hawkish saw what a nuke is really like they woud say something like “Nooo, I don’t think we’ll ever be using any thing that nasty on my watch!” Now the true nastinesss of these weapons is a theoretical consideration only, no one has ever seen one go off, and everyone is comfortable with them being used.

Anti abortion, pro seatbelt, MADD and antismokinfg groups use ugly to dissude folks ... because it works. Governments hide ugly in war zones because they are afraid it will get the “wrong” message accross

There is only one slight difference between today’s so called mainstream media and Gelbel.
The former is better.

When it comes to real, uncensored and full blown news, I go elsewhere outside of US and those non mainstream media inside the US.

A note to the video clip, the cover up by the mainstream media is monumental, brutal and bloody.

Our so called “main stream media” has being a friend of the Bush White House.  Like the USA Congress, the media has no spine-they are spineless. I no longer listen to the Sunday talking heads like Tim Russert and the like.  As far as I’m concern they have nothing to inform. They have failed the American people by not asking the right question and keeping this Administration’s feet on the fire.

The mainstream media’s concern in the U.S. is Anna Nicole’s death and Britney Spears shaved head. And the ever popular it’s really cold and it snows in the northeast and west in the winter.
What passes for news in this country has numbed us to the reality of the war and world. Just the way our corporate masters want it. Keep sending money and bodies to feed the greed machine and buy the useless crap we sell you and we’ll let you work until you die.
Hell of deal. We’ve got the best damn government money can buy. At least that’s what the corporations who’ve bought it say.

And the above is why we are supposed to have a thoughtful process before allowing an over eager President to use our military. We didn’t and it is now proven that the reasons given for Iraq were Lies, Lies, and more Lies.

War can not be defended when it is not a case of self-defense. We are foreignors in a strange land. We did not get there because of Iraq having attacked our land, we are there because Bush/Cheney wanted us there. We are there because business wanted us there for their personal profits, we are their because of egotists amongst the Iraq people seeing it as a way to power. We are not there for the average Iraqi people, anymore than this war is about AMERICAN PEOPLE’s Interests.

It is a case of a grab for temporary advantage at the expense of long term interest. It is inhuman and it can not be forgiven.
